Great for the money

Just received my 2x12 about an hour ago, plugged straight into my Victory VX Kraken works and sounds amazing! For the price you can't say no!

Gobsmacked

I was hoping that all the folks who said great things about this cab were right, honest and that I would have the same experience. In essence, this is even better then I had expected.

One major positive is the upright vertical orientation, taking significantly less space and sounding open and bright. I have tested it with a few amps (70's vintage Traynor YGM-4 combo out, Revv D20, 5mm Electro-Harmonix) and I am always pleased. It certainly like old tube tones, but the 5mm sounded real good.

If you have the room, might consider it instead of the 1x12.

Good sounding cabinet for the price

I bought this to go with my stage right 30 watt head. I've been looking for a 212 speaker cabinet with vintage 30 speakers and decided to pull the plug on this cabinet. The price was perfect, I was amazed at the sound i got with this setup. I like the way it looks

Amazing

What can i say that has not already been said 100 hundred times already? This thing is legit. Coming from a Bugera 1x12, i was absolutely floored by how much better this sounds and am kicking myself for not getting it sooner! The tolex is nice, the grill cover is nice, everything seems very well put together and the side handles are very nice touch as i can place my amp on top and not have to worry about a handle. But obviously the big draw is the V30's. I understand they are china made, but who cares? These things are monstrous and i haven't even gotten close to breaking them in. Even at low volume bedroom levels, these sound huge. If you are on the fence, do yourself a favor and snatch this up, you will not be disappointed.

speaker baffle failure

pros: cost and sound

cons: speaker baffles not up to rough handling of shippers. Both top and bottom baffles were free floating.

Fortunately the speakers were not damaged. A couple of hours with a compound miter saw, a brad nailer and titebond wood glue had the cabinet sorted.

Tolex is soft and arrived with a couple of scars. I consider it a road worn finish for no extra cost.

Fantastic, particularly for the money.

Make no mistake, this cabinet is worth far more than it costs. It uses Celestion Vintage 30s, so it was always going to sound great. I particularly appreciated that the front grille is detachable which makes accurate mic placement very easy. Given that this is the vertical model, the footprint is small and so I store it on top of a Fender 4x10 bass cabinet, but also the upper speaker is angled upwards so the sound is not directed at your knees. The recessed metal grips on the sides feel very secure and of high quality. One can tell that the construction of the cabinet has been done cheaply and there are a few bits where the wood hasn't quite been cut or painted right, but these things do not appear to affect the sound at all and can only be noticed upon close inspection.

Very highly recommended.

Why Don't You Own One Of These?

For the price, there is absolutely nothing that competes with the G212 Vintage. Mine is sturdy, the speakers sound beautiful with lows, mids, and highs all well represented. It's one of those products that seems too good to be true, but it's the real deal. The one downside is that the speakers and wiring are made in China, who has a notorious reputation for low quality electronics. The one I own is so far so good, though, and at $300 after tax and shipping, I love it. If you're in the US, I'd recommend using UPS instead of DHL, it's a bit more for shipping, but you won't regret the speed at which you get your G212.

Arrived damaged but repairable

Like other customers, my cabinet arrived damaged, even though the shipping box was intact. Specifically, the angled board holding the upper speaker was detached from the cabinet frame. Having waited months due to availability and shipping to the US I decided to make the repair myself rather than wait for a return & replacement. Removing the speakers and handles allowed access to the wooden cleats, one of which was completely detached; others were loose but still attached to the angled board but not the frame. A little glue and screws made for a good repair, overall taking about an hour from start to finish. If you're handy or know someone willing to help if needed and want a good deal then taking a chance on this item may work for you. Otherwise I can't recommend it.

Great Price for a Great Cab

Fantastic price for amazing sound.

Great tone at any price

This is just a great sounding cab. Delivers all the Vintage 30 tone you want. Fat, punchy and loud if needed. Tried it at rehearsal with my metal band and it was just stellar. We play damn loud because of a heavy handed drummer and the cab did not give in. Feels pretty solid too. Just some minor flaws on the cosmetic side. Metal corner not fitted perfect and the piping around the speaker grille is not the tightest. But that sound though. Just kickass!

Excellent value

Does what it should, it's a 2x12 with V30's. Build quality is good for the price. The tolex is a bit thin and you won't get the overall build quality of a cab that's 5 times as expensive, but it's not too far off either. The handles are very nice and it feels solid.

If you're not touring extensively (and no one is at the moment), this is a killer deal. Even if the cab doesn't stand the test of time, it's still a good deal just for the speakers.

Highly reccomended for studio use and light gigging.

great budget cab

I bought this cab primarily for use in my home studio.

It sounds just as good as the cab I borrowed while waiting for it to ship (Victory v30 loaded 2x12), at about 1/3 the price!

PROS its a vintage 30 loaded cab for less than the price of the speakers. It sounds great with my Victory VX Kraken and Blackstar HT20 mk2. Front grill cloth is removable for accurate mic placement when recording.

CONS possibly not the best quality materials used, not sure how durable it would be for road use.

CONCLUSION if you want a vintage 30 loaded 2x12 you can't really go wrong with this cab.

A lot of cabinet for the money

A this price, it simply cannot be beat. Cheaper then the speakers!

Killer Home Run with this

Amazing. Perfect for gigging or studio.

LOVE the quik detach grille cloth so you can get a mic right up on the speaker.

HB absolutely nailed it.

Fits the bill just right

Needed a dual-purpose cabinet, both a permanent fixture in my live rig, so easy to carry and loud enough to create enough noise on stage with my modeling rig, but also temporarily something with the right speakers to match my high-gain head while I saved up for the matching 4x12. This one fit the bill perfectly. The Vintage 30 speakers do what Vintage 30 speakers do, and weighing in at only 24 kg it makes your life so much easier when gigging compared to 4x12s or combo amps.

The cabinet's light weight means it lacks a bit of bass and resonance compared to more massive and more expensive cabinets, but dialing in a little extra bass for a more light weight gig rig is a small price to pay.

If money's not an option and you're chasing after the perfect tone and not planning on moving the cabinet around much, go for a Mesa or ENGL. But if you are looking for something easy to carry to gigs, or money is tight, this one is for you, because for the money, this cabinet can not, and, dare I say, probably will never be beat.

Amazing Product for the Price

So after watching a few Youtube videos on this product I decided to take a chance, because I've been shopping for 2x12 speakers, and was dreading having to spend the money for quality. Found out about these and pulled the trigger; seemed to good to be true to get the speakers I wanted in a good enclosure.

Well, it arrived and like another reviewer, it was rattling, and removing one of the front speakers saw it was a couple of the baffles. Easy fix. The screw seats that hold in the screws for the speakers kept coming loose too, when I was screwing the speaker back in, but after some finagling got it back tight. So Harley Benton, those are two things you need to work on - better seating of those screws and the baffles.

BUT, I plugged it in and after some breaking in - the sound kept getting better and better. I don't care if these are Chinese V30's, the cleans I was getting out of this were every bit as good as my AC30 that has British V30's in it. The OD's are spectacular.

So long story short - GET IT if you need a 2x12. Just do it.

Great sounding cabinet great price

This is a great sounding cabinet and moves a lot of air. Build quality is pretty darn good - not as good as a Mesa or Marshall but the Harley Benton a quarter the price (or more) of those name brands but the sound... the sound is right up there.

I currently own a Marshall 1965 full stack and a Marshall 1960 full stack and 1) I think this 2x12 qtr stack sounds better the Marshall 1965 stack and 2) I’m serious considering selling my 1960B cabinet and using the funds to buy another Harley Benton G212 vintage vertical cab to replace it. That’s how much I like this product.
