Stunning Cabinet - Cheap for V30s

I bought one of these many years ago and a second around 2 years later. Both have worked tirelessly having been gigged and hired out for three or four years, getting use at least once a weekend! Loaded with Vintage 30s and being a closed back ply cabinet these are tight sounding with strong bottom end and glorious clarity in over-driven leads.

As with any new speaker there is an element of 'wear in' needed and these don't seem to take long with me. Throughout their time with me I've been involved in many outdoor performances and large venue work for which they have taken 100 Watt and 120 Watt Valve guitar heads and the G212s have never broken a sweat!

i highly recommend ordering the soft cover for these, or even flight-casing them if you can. This is due to the use of slightly poorer quality tolex than other cabs and the front grille can stretch enough for a stray mic stand to contact the speaker cones. Despite mine getting a crease in the edge of the cone from this though, it seems to have done no harm whatsoever to the tone of the cab!

absolutely would buy again!

Killer Cabinet

An absolutely killer cabinet at an unbeatable price, the Harley Benton G212 Vintage leaves even more expensive Vintage 30 loaded cabinets in its wake. The cabinet weighs in at a sturdy 25 kilograms, features a solid build construction, and is switchable between mono and stereo settings. There is no handle on top of the amp, which may be a downside to some, however, you should really be team lifting anything this heavy to ensure you don't put your back out.

Amazing for the money

2 V30 speakers in a cab for a price lower than the speakers bought separately. What is there not to like? It's not to have to carry, sounds as you would expect. The wood from the cabinet is starting to bend at the top due to the weight of my amp, but not so that it is a problem. Would buy it again.

cool product , but it not hold the 100 W amp at full power

Really good sound, not so heavy , a bit noisy compared to other product , but still fine. Only notes , it do not hold properly a 100 W amp ( my marshall I.E ) at full power , if i crank the master volume above the 14 OC ( after 7 on 10 , let's say ) the speakers are starting blowing a bit .

So cheap!

I have a Marshall DSL20H and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe plugged into this. It has quite a "tight" sound. It is great - I can't fault it. You can't even buy Vintage 30s as cheap as this - crazy!

Amazing Quality, Awesome Price!

I bought this cab to use at my rehearsal space only having taken Glenn Fricker for his word that this cab is amazing. It truly doesn't disappoint. Sounds great when I used it with my Marshall DSL100H and also with my JCM800. Definitely can't go wrong with this cab. The only thing I wish is that I got the angled version haha!

Perfect

Good for the money

I bought it for home recording to use with my Engl fireball 60. I havent tried anything else with my amp but it sounds good. It sounds clear and not tight like a 1x12 which i dont like. I think its a great choice for home studio. Im not sure if its wise to buy a 4x12 for home..

After 6 years of intensive usage, this cabinet still goes strong as on day one. It played dozens of shows and did multiple tours with me, and never let me down. It sounds amazing, both live and recorded.

This is probably the only cab I will ever need, and I can't recommend it enough.

Best column in that price

After 6 years of using it - I can say i was good choice. Sounds perfectly with Blackstar HT Metal 100. It's definitely not the heaviest box on the market but in that price - excellent. 2 Speakers are enough for rehersales with loud drummer or performing small gig. Recommend it!

Love it!!!

I'm a simple metal fan, and this thing is great and handling the tight mid-range that I aim for

Best budget guitar cab

This cab is great solution for guitarists that are on a budget. It has real V30 and it sound great (and it is very load). Low frequencies are slightly loose but still sound killer :)

Great

It's great, especially for the price, whats more to ask?

My only complaint was that there were some minor defects, e,g some of the tolex not meeting in the corner, and a gouge in the wood underneath the tolex, but for the price I sort of expected that, and other than that, it's perfect.

Great Value, Great Service

Ordered this unit all the way to South Africa, arrived within 2 weeks without a scratch. The sound is great and can't wait to work in the speakers a bit. Using both a Marshall 410H and Joyo Vivo.

The sound quality is up there with my Marshall 1960A Lead 4x12.

Pros:

Light

Studio

Home Practice

Small Venue

Con:

Nothing I can really think of, it's great Value!

In short... stop thinking about buying the cabinet, and buy it!

The best 2x12 cab i have ever used!

So let me start by saying that i bought this HB 2x12 because i gigged with Marshall 4x12 cabs for many years and got tired of carrying around heavy cabs.

I needed a 2x12 that could sound big but would be lighter to carry. Ideally i needed something with Celestion V30's or similar.

After looking around the internet, i discovered the Harley Benton G212 Vintage and my first impression was :

"How can they sell a V30 loaded cab for less money than 2 separate Celestion V30 speakers?"

At this point, i immediately placed the order because this is a total bargain. You're basically getting the cab for free when you think about it.

When the cab arrived, it looked fantastic and the overall quality was even better than i had expected.

I plugged it in and A/B tested it against my trust old Marshall 4x12. Here's what i discovered:

The HB 2x12 sounded more defined than the Marshall 4x12. It handled the low end better and actually seemed to be more 'punchy' in those lower mid and bass frequencies.

The HB 2x12 also sounds a little more aggressive in the midrange in comparison. This is likely because the speakers are front loaded, which gives a bit more of that direct sound. This makes it extremely good for rock or metal tones! However, it'll do just about anything you can think of and still sound great.

The top end is clear and cuts through the mix always, but it never sounds shrill or harsh.

I have now owned this cab for 7 years and gigged with it many times and it's still holding strong and performing flawlessly. The tolex is still attached, the grill cloth isn't damaged... This is pretty impressive for a cab that is priced so low!

If you're reading this review and you're trying to decide on purchasing this cab... My advice is just to go for it. I really don't think you'll find a better cab until you spend 3 or 4x more money. And even then, it won't sound 4x better or last 4x longer.

This cab is perfect for me and i will for sure own more than one in future for my new rig!

Two V30s and the cab almost free.

Nothing to say really. You get two V30s in a good quality cab at a very low price.Recommended to anyone who likes the V30 sound.

Extremely professional-sounding cabinet for an absolute steal

I just got this cab and have been putting it through its paces, and I am in awe. The fact that you can get a cab this good for the price is just gobsmacking. I literally feel like I ripped somebody off. Everything about this amp screams quality. I expected cheap MDF construction and speakers that were Celestion Vintage 30s in name only, what I got was something I would have expected to pay three or four times as much for. Quit reading this review and buy this cabinet already!

One more thing, for my American countrymen don't worry about the shipping too much. It got to my house in pristine condition, which is amazing considering it literally came from the other side of the world in a little over a week. And with the weight limit on shipping, you can also pick up a quality Harley Benton guitar as a spare. I have a review coming up for the guitar I picked up with this order as well.

Impeccable Guitar Cabinet

Along the years, I've had the chance to work with over 30 guitar cabinets, as well as own 13 different guitar cabs, which include 412s, 212s both vertical and horizontal and two 112s.

On arrival, the cabinet gave me this impression: robust, clean, good looking, STURDY, well built. I have absolutely nothing to complain about when it comes to this cab. The speakers in it are also legitimate Celestion V30 speakers, which is great. The sound projection of this cab is also great - it pushes a lot of air as well, it sounds boomy but in a good way, Although I haven't managed to break in the speakers entirely just yet, the sounds I'm getting out of this with a Peavey XXX and a Marshall JCM 900 MK3 2500 is killer, the british amp being a bit on the fizzy side due to unbroken speakers. The american-voiced amp sounds perfect straight away, which surprised me. Comparing this to a Marshall 212 1936 equipped with Vintage 30 speakers, I honestly prefer this cabinet - it gives a bigger sound and it also has better resonance.

Bottom line - I would recommend this cabinet to anyone that doesn't want to spend the big $ on a Mesa or ENGL cab, because this one smokes everything in its price range without a doubt!
