Harley Benton G212 Celestion V30 Reviews
Bargain
This is the best bang for buck piece of guitar equipment that I have ever bought! For the price, anything other than 5 stars would be criminal.
Great
Really great thing. And I'm not saying "great for the price". It is really great and cheep price is just a bonus
Amazing! :)
great deal
the Cabinet is high quality and build up with very well calculated geometrical dynamics to hold and isolate your sound wherever you set it up with any amp , grade A+ materials .
hands down this a MONSTER DEAL.
i tried this cab with Marshall Mg15ms Head in stereo and with a powerstate tube driver 120 watt head in mono ,
and i got great result that left me satisfied over every cent i paid and enjoying a great sound until the day i change i my mind and start playing with 4x12 which means am just gonna order another one.
Great sound
The speakers inside this cabinet are Celestion Vintage 30s, so the sound is going to be virtually as good as cabinets that cost more than twice as much.
It seems that access to the inside to change speakers will be easy.
Where the money is saved in construction costs are in the actual housing and cover. Compared to, say, a Marshall or Orange cabinet, the construction is a bit flimsy and the cover will plastic cover will easily rip and pucker. I am guessing the speakers will last longer than the cabinet.
However, this is my working cabinet, and I won't expect it to stay cosmetically beautiful.
To cheap for the great quality
Great cabinet and much cheaper than any other option with Celestion V30, with a very close quality to competitors.
The only thing should be better is the fact it doesn't come with some useful accessories like floor wheels and hand strap on top (but contais on both sides). But you can solve that easily. The speakers sounded very very good!
nice cab
for the money very good cab!!!
Excellent quality 2x12 speaker
Excellent sound, with the Celestion Vintage 30's.
Build is very solid and the connectors are good quality and convenient.
I re cabled the cab with high quality speaker cable, because the original cable is a little thin and the contacts are spades (not the best connection). But it didn't change much in the sound, really.
The cabinet is plywood, it is solid and well built.
The corners of the front panel have tiny slots that the tolex didn't cover, and you can see the wood below. But this is MINOR flaw, given the price.
At this price this cabinet is unbeatable. If you're on a budget for a good sounding Vintage 30 2x12, stop thinking and just BUY IT. You will be in awe for a long time. Only the 2 Celestion speakers cost this much. How is it possible to sell the complete cabinet it at this price? I dunno, but I'm happy they do.
This one will stay in my gig for a many years to come. It's a killer!!!!
Using it with Jet City Amplification and Laney amplifier heads (all tube).
Great Cab for the price!!!
When I bought this CAB, I knew it would sound very good based on the fact that it has Vintage 30 speakers inside. What I didn't know, is how the quality of the CAB itself would be.Build Quality - This is an extremely well crafted CAB. The fit and finish are as good as a several other CABS I have that cost me a lot more money. The corners are perfectly square and solidly built. The closed back is very well done. The Tolex covering was applied very well, even and smooth all around. The front grill cloth was applied very well, and looks great. The built in recessed carrying handles are heavy duty, perfectly installed and they look and function very well. The "Harley Benton" Logo looks great on this CAB as well. Sound Quality and Features - The sound quality from this CAB and the V30's is incredible. I'm a Blues/Rock player and have used this CAB with several different valve heads at varying volume levels. This CAB performs amazingly well with anything from a monster 120 watt valve head, to a Micro Valve 20 Watt head. The CAB has great tone at virtually all volume levels. To my ear, this CAB cover the entire tone spectrum perfectly. Super nice crisp highs, warm and inviting mids, and just the right amount of low end Bass. My favorite thing about the sound quality is the ability to hear the articulation so very well. That is just incredible. The input options on the back of the CAB are simple, yet very useful. Conclusion - It's hard to believe that I was able to buy such a well made, great looking and awesome sounding CAB for such a great price. I've used this CAB a lot since purchasing it. It's reliable, heavy duty, and best of all, I've had a ton of really nice compliments on it. I was thinking that over a period of heavy use, it might fail in one way or another, but so far, it's been a work horse. If you like the sound of the Vintage 30 Speakers, this is clearly a CAB I can recommend with zero hesitation. Oh and had it to my door within 8 days, all the way to the USA. If I could give it more stars for overall quality, sound, and value, I would. I love it.
Solid cab for the price
Bought this some time ago. Still use almost every day. Both for rehearsals and live stuff.
If V30s are your thing then you can't go wrong with this cab in this price range.
It's solidly built and until now it hasn't caused me any sort of problem.
For an easy, pick-up-and-go solution it's perfect. Now I don't to carry a ridiculously overweight Mesa cab everyone and always worry about it.
In it's price range, you just CAN'T beat it!
Deal of the century?!
After years of playing with Orange PPC412, I thought its time to downgrade as I dont play as much as I used to. I thought I will buy some cheap 2x12, so I can play even in my basement. When I received this HB 2x12, I couldnt believe this thing cost so little. It looks professional, the dimensions are like Marshall 1936 cab. Sure, it does not sound anywhere as massive as great 4x12, but on the other hand, the sound is VERY precise and tight. There are no muddy sub bass tones, which for me (high gain player) is GREAT. I am sure it cuts through the mix like a knife. The V30s are a little fizzy in the moment, but I am sure they will broken in. If not, I will replace one V30 with creamback speaker.
Also, this cab is like V2 (or mk2) of the old cab. The old cab was front loaded with non-removable back panel. This "new" cab is rear loaded with removable back panel. So its pretty much different beast altogether. Great piece of gear for sure
incredible price.awesome sound!
love it.v30s sound this price awesome.
A versatile budget cab for gigging/practice
Overall a fun entry level cab with great value for money to get you started or as a backup for your primary cab.
I bought this cab to go with a 50 watt EVH 5150 as a last minute purchase as we didn't have room for a 4x12.
I was on a tight budget at the time so this cab really jumped out due to its affordability and the celestion vintage 30's that the vintage version comes with.
Pros:
The sound and build quality stand up really well in a gigging environment with lows standing out really well in a mix, particularly in a rock/metal geared band like mine. Proper carry handles help with dragging the thing around as well and its held up well to the various drops/knocks we've thrown at it.
Cons:
At low volume it lacks clarity compared to other cabs i've used. I'm not a fan of the finish used to cover the cab, it marks very easily and is sometimes sticky when its hot enough. Its also quite large compared to other 2x12 cabs that I've seen.
I wish I had purchased this sooner.
This cabinet is amazing. I love my Mesa Boogie 4x12 Oversized but I might love this Harley Benton 2x12 a little more. Everything comes out of this cab smooth and clear. The mids on my Peavey 6505+ head used to get muddled with my mesa boogie to make room for the heavier low tone. The Harley Benton makes my Peavey scream more clear than I have ever heard before. And it comes in a lightweight but sturdy casing. I recommended this cab to my friend that just got an Orange closed back 2x12 and he's kicking himself for not saving his money and getting this cab of equal tone to his Orange. Stop reading and buy this cab!
Harley Benton G212 Vintage
its worth for its value, very good cabinet with highlight the vintage 30s . This combo of my randall and this makes a very tight sound which i was looking for .
Great value for money.
Great sound at a great price. Strong well built cab, sounds just as good as other cabs that are twice the price. Running with a EVH5150 50w head and sounds massive. No need to run a quad cab for the big sound. Very happy, highly recommended.
I can't believe they can make it for this price!
This cabinet is very well built. I have seen the speakers on other side formate same price without the cabinet.
PROS Sound quality is excellent, the cabinet is well made plus two side handles. Will, work mono or stereo.
CONS A bit heavy.
For this price buy two!
Amazing quality for the money!
Using this cab with Blackstar TVP ID:100 Head. I have tested some of the common 2x12 cabs for less then 500eur as I was on a budget after buying the head.
I was greatly surprised that this cab (loaded with well-known and acclaimed v30s) could present such amount of amazing tone considering how low is its cost. The tone is full, has great presence and response.
After reading a lot of online reviews I was a bit doubtful about the built quality of the product. However, what I received is a cab free of any visible (or hearable) flaws so I can't really tell the difference between this cab and many more, twice as more expensive, product.
Long story short - if you're on a budget, and you are aiming for nice, heavy, edgy but also clean and crisp tones this one is definitely for you.
Good, cheap and durable cabinet
I bought the Harley Benton G212 Vintage cabinet about five years ago. I decided to modify my Peavey Vypyr to plug in a cabinet. After some research the Harley Benton was the choice.
For cheap money it comes with all the basic features you need from a cabinet and also with really good speakers. The built-in Celestion Vintage 30 speakers give me the exact sound that I wanted. Compared to the Blue Marvel speaker the Amp came with the sound is now more clear with more punch and more brightness.
The cab itself has a good construction-quality. Years of using it and carrying it around sure left their marks on the Tolex but that happens if you use it. The cab seems to be quite durable, I don't expect it to get broken or damaged in the next five years.
For using the cab on another amp you can chose the impendance with a switch between the two input-jacks. So I can use the cab with my Marshall-Head too.
Great cheap cab
Hands down the cheapest 2x12 with celestion vintage 30's. Great value for the price - the speakers alone are nearly the price of this cab!
Definitely worth it over the other Harley Benton 2x12's.
quite good sound for the buck
all round a good 2x12 , obviously the bass response is not so good being the wood/material quite cheap but it gets the job done, if you are on budget might be a good option for you
