Great Value For Money

I bought 2 of these DI boxes for use in my Scottish Traditional band (guitar and fiddle). And I have to say I couldn't be more impressed. I borrowed an MTR DI-1 and the Millenium DI-E, for a fraction of the price - There isn't much of a sound difference.

Overall I think this DI box would be a great addition to any gigging musician's gig bag who doesn't want to break the bank.

Amazing for reamping

I bought this for budget reamping, it works great for that.

I bought another -20db xlr pad that I put in between my audio interface and this DI box and there is absolutely no noise coming out the amp, sounds the same as if plug in my guitar directly into the amp.

Excellent buy for the price

Used for band rehearsals.

Connected to Bass and Guitars and absolutely no noise for the price i have paid.

Works well and does the trick.

This is pretty good really! It costs next to nothing and works really effectively, it has not completely got rid of hum in my case but it does get it down to a level thats sooo much more usable and what you are left with is more of a faint noise rather than a deep ground-loop hum and most pedals create a fair bit of noise anyway so Im sure its most likely just the pedals making that slight noise, so this thing might actually be doing a perfect job! i just haven`t had the means to test that out with something that not pedals yet , but i would say its possibly the most effective 10 euros i have spent :) oh and its built like a metal brick so it is solid as those words sound

best thing that 10¤ can buy

nothing special...nothing bad...nothing extra good...cheap DI does his job like it should...even better than Behringer DI20

Unbeatable for the price

I bought these as budget boxes to for jobs with lots of DI's required, and to keep a couple in my mic kits as spares.

They're well built and sound fairly flat and neutral, they tend to need a fair bit of gain winding in, and the noise floor is a touch high, but if you've got a fairly hot input signal they're fine.

I ended up using one for half a tour last year when the SansAmp I was using failed and one of these was what I had to hand, it sounded so close to the SansAmp in the mix that I used it for the remainder of the tour.

A nice D.I. for a price of a pizza ;)

I bought this D.I. box for use with acoustic guitar in live settings. For the price it's quite feature rich, with both speaker and instrument outputs and of course also a ground switch. The sound is transparent and I'm very pleased with its performance. The build quality is top-notch and I think it should survive lots of gigging. The metal casing is sturdy and the jack and xlr connectors seem to be of a good quality.

Overall, a great product at this very low price point and I'd say one has to pay a lot more in order to perceive a great sonic difference.

very simple device

does what is says on the tin really. You don't need the manual (single sheet of paper as pretty much everything you need to know is printed on the unit.)

I used it so I could connect my keyboard with standard jack line outs into my powered PA speakers without needing a mixer desk. This worked fine and brought the gain up to the requirements of the speakers.

Since then I have added 3 keyboards to my set up so have no choice but to use a mixer. Still I can use these fore DIing a bass or guitar into my record mixer. I won't need them often but when I do I will be glad I got em.

Very sturdy and require nothing to power them.

ground loop

Just bought a pair to see if it's gonna help me out with ground loop issue I had with my keyboard and it did work and sound remained the same.

Millenium DI-E / DI bargain!

Its the best product for the cost! it does its job as described! I instantly bought 2 of them. Comes in robust housing with quality connectors! ( no lose ones but nice built for stage or studio use) 5/5 !

Great little unit

I use this DI for home studio work, mainly for taking a clean bass signal before the amp. It sounds way better than a cheap bass amp's built in DI and about as good as plugging in to the Hi-Z inputs on my interface.

It is as well featured as it needs to be with a handy ground lift function. One very useful thing to note is that, seeing as it is a passive circuit, it can be used in reverse configuration (Balanced signal going into the output, to unbalanced Hi-Z coming out the input).

Tldr: basically it can be used as a Re-amp box in a pinch! It will not match the instrument impedance as well as a dedicated reamp box ...but it will do the job!

The sound is clean and the source is left largely untouched.

Build quality is superb I could happily run over it with my car!

All in all a great unit for the price, if I were a live engineer I would much rather this to an active DI and having to worry about batteries, phantom power or power supplies.

Transparent!

We've used this passive DI box at a number of gigs now. It has always been reliable and incredibly transparent. Perhaps the best features are obvious: changing an unbalanced TRS input into a balanced XLR output; but we have also found ourselves thankful that it has ground-lift functionality too - an excellent addition to get rid of hum. We haven't yet used the speaker functionality (it can be used as a speaker DI) but I'm confident that when we do, this unit will deliver. It's also built to a high standard and is just heavy enough to feel solid and road worthy. Highly recommended.

Why pay more?

This is an excellent DI box, built on the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle.

I have been using these for 8 years, both live and in the studio.

They do exactly what is required with no fuss at a great price.

open mic box

This little guy sits on my stage every week at my open mic and is kicked about, abused and mistreated. Its sturdy, you will have to try to break it. Connectors are good and has a yrs out and an xlr out as well.

i use it for acoustic guitars and i can here very little coloration and the signal is nice and clear into the desk.

A good DI box

Ideal DI box for acoustic guitar

I have two of these DI boxes. One I run an acoustic guitar straight to the desk and the other runs an emulated line out from my guitar amp. I've also used it for keyboards.

Its all easy to use straight out of the pack. I've had 3 different makes of these and they all pretty much achieve the same result. However, this one is half the price!

Keep it simple

I have about eight of these in my kit. They cost next to nothing, so it's no problem having a few more than I might need. But on the occasion that someone turns up at a festival with an electric glockenspiel I can just grab another one out of the box knowing that everything's going to be OK.

I really struggle to understand why anyone would spend ten times as much on an active DI box with all the problems of batteries and phantom powering, when a passive unit will convert to a mic level signal (the same level as all those other mics you've got on stage anyway) and just make that instument appear on the desk along with everything else.

There's a switchable pad should you have to use a slave speaker output from an amp - rarely happens these days. There's a ground lift switch - but I have never, ever, had a hum problem when using one of these. They are the cure for all hum problems.

They're simple and sturdily built, so you can throw them back in the flight case from fifteen feet away. I guess the nuts on the jack sockets could come loose, but I don't recall having to tighten one up.

Buy yourself half a dozen. You won't regret it.

Great cheap D.I

I have 4 of these now and very happy with them, they do the job, simple and for the price can't fault them but sound quality could be a little better and pads would be nice but you wouldn't get that for this price.

Great piece at a greater price!

I was originally concerned by the low cost of this DI box but added it to my basket as i was after a spare to keep in my toolbox.

how wrong was I ? - it's been great and very well built. OK, sound wise it's not a Radial or Klark Technic but for less than £8 - you won't go wrong :-)

Recommended these to a few bands I work with and may get a couple more myself.

I've owned this for over 2 years now, it's holding up well and hasn't let me down yet.

PASSIVE DI

is a simple passive DI, the cost is really low, I thought it was of low quality, I changed my mind. attenuator has a very useful, it has a very linear frequency response and is not far to much more expensive products, a DI can not miss it in the studio it on stage

Good DI

This is a cheap and usable DI box.

It has no noise problems that I have come across and is always a great piece of kit to have in my bag for when we have problems with amps on stage.

Many people turn their noses up at it when I pull it out but all are pleasantly surprised when they hear it and all make the same comment, that it sounds just like their bass!

It has been scratched and scraped but is still functionally perfect.

Overall a very nice little product.
