Millenium MCT-20 Reviews
life saver
A must have for any one in the business. an easy way to trouble shoot any cable or bulb. Rugged design and easy to use and maintain at a economical price.
I bought this tool to inspect and test all my house cable. it speeds up the process with reliable results and is very easy to use.
with the addition of the probes it becomes useful for any electrical item where continuity test is necessary..
If you are a stage tech or sound engineer you should have one of these in the tool box.
Superb cable tester
This unit will test virtually every cable in the musician's bag and has been a life-saver on a few occasions when trying to identify intermittent cable problems. My only complaint resulting in slight down marking, was the quality of the test leads. The plugs didn't mate well with the sockets on the unit so I remade with new plugs to improve the reliability of the cconnection. But otherwise the functionality and robustness for the price are superb.
test
this cabletester is a good device which should be in every sound engineers bag.
ive been using mine for years and has many good optiens. even testing cat5 or din is not a problem.
Superb piece of kit; excellent value-for-money
This does everything the live sound engineer could want...
...and it's built like a tank.
And for those cables it cannot test, you can always make up an adaptor. One of life's little life-savers.
Very good for this price
I owend this thing alomst two years ago and for me it is the best investment since long time. I does what its build for. I almost solder may cables by myself and it saved me from many mistakes that that i made. Nothing is worse if you want to use a cableand something is wrong. With the MCT-20 you can check everything immediate. The only thing is that the frame for the battery int build very well. So you have to check it always bevor using it. But for that price it is really fine. After all it is identical to other (more expensive) cable testers like the Palmer, usw...
one of the best investments i´ve ever done
The cable tester the Millenium MCT-20 is one of the best investments I have ever done in my music career. The the Millenium MCT-20 tester is build like a tank. It is made of solid sheet metal so you could put it our rescue box on stage.
All potis and inserts are heavy duty and work fine. So no longer search of the defect cable or is it the microphone? No you could just put in the cable turn the knob and you see is something broken in it. The tester has a lot of inputs for lot´s of different cables. For that price the Millenium MCT-20 it is a no brainer in my opinion. After one week at work i will never miss this tool. the battery is still full and the the Millenium MCT-20 does that job very well and i know all my cables are ok at this moment ;-)
More accuracy
Before I bought this item i used a regular voltmeter to check if I soldered/screwed together my cables right. It's hard to obtain accurate reading with the narrow tips on the voltmeter escecially on speakon-cables so this MCT-20 is just great.
When I first got it I would test the function and tried a 1/4 to 1/4-cable but it didn't go all the way in. But it was just a little piece of plastic (not from the device) that was stuck in there. I poked it out and never had a problem since.
The cable tester has a very simple display. Easy to understand and it makes me happy when my cables ok.
XLR slots
XLR slots not of good quality. It tends to get stuck and hard to pull out.
Professional stuff!
Could not make it without it! Strong built, very usefull and practical! We use it intesively for two years now and never had a problem. Great value for the price!
Good tool to check all those cables lying around
Good tool to check all those cables lying around.
It would have been good if it had a buzzer, to easy indicate intermittent problems when you bend and twist a cable
Monster Cable Tester Wins The Battle
When it arrived I couldn't believe the size and build of it. It's got the feel of something that can be dropped off a moving train and survive! It tests virtually every cable possible and is a continuity tester too. AND it tests it own battery. Great gizmo. Super price.
Does What It Says On The Tin
This piece of kit is something I should have bought ages ago. Incredibly handy/useful. I can tell this is going to get used a lot during live events. More so to prove to the acts that its not my gear thats faulty. Since it arriving today I have went through every single cable I have and to my surprise I only had to chuck 3 cables. I would totally recommend this to any live/studio engineer. Cheers Guys!!
Cable Checker
Haven't used it in earnest yet, but in trying it out on my desk, seems to connect provide a simple continuity test between a number of commonly used cable end types.
Does the Job
This product does the job. It is also very good in the face that if you wire something up incorrectly it tells you which pins or connect incorrectly!
It also lets you test converters so you can test a 3pin XLR with Speakon!
Is fairly well Built.
Another Millenium winner
This is probably the best and most affordable cable tested that exists. It does other things too and it's made from tough solid material. A serious value for the money.
Brilliant meter for testing leads
Cheap, simple, easy to use, robust & reliable

Excellent
This tester is excellent. I had another one previously and it didn't last very long. The Millenium checks every possible combination of cables in the music industry. Definitely 5 stars all round....
