Drums are realy nice, good sound, hihat is a little bit complicated, some times not working as you want to.,,pedal a little bit slow, but in total best drums to start with!!

Excellent entry level drum kit.

This kit got me back into drumming from a 18 year old pause, and for that alone it is worth every cent.

The quality of the hardware is on par with more expensive kits, perhaps the only (-) here is the high-hat, the sensitivity is not very good, but for most learner or rock style players this is good enough.

It has many sounds / kits but most people will find a kit they like and play that one.

I wish it had built in bluetooth connectivity and mobiles these days do not ave audio out; but with a cheap dongle this can be easily added.

Great set

One of the best sets in the range and 4 or 5 times cheaper than brand ones.

Offers an insane amount of sounds and options. Great to record yourself, quiet.

I've had it for 2 years and I still haven't explored all the different settings.

The only downside I've found is that the pads do wear down quickly and stop triggering after heavy use, unless you hit them in a very specific point.

Tin sounding

It sounds absolutely nothing like the promo video on their website. Honestly, it’s sounds so cheap and nasty that I am returning it less than 30 mins after building it. I can’t describe how disappointed I am. I didn’t get the rim to play, the feel of the pads is too absorbing, the 4th Tom/3rd crash is one or the other as there’s only one lead for both.

Wasted $$$

If you're a complete beginner to drumming- this is probably okay. But if you're an experienced drummer looking for a practice kit to do any amount of substantial drumming on- this is not it. The sound module is awful, the hi-hat stand works half the time, the mesh pads are okay but above all the build quality is HORRENDOUS. The rim around the snare drum is already torn apart from doing rimshots, the snare can barely stay in place without constantly having to re-tighten it, the ENTIRE frame is constantly being loosened and having to be re-adjusted and re-tightened- I can't even RESELL this because of how bad the kit has gotten from this cheapo hardware. Just absolutely frustrated. Half a thousand dollars down the drain.

Blew me away

Set up was easy and the module quite intuitive. Love the many sounds available and managed to crank a snare to sound like a barrel. Quality of components are surprisingly good. I’ll be buying more products from these peeps!

Fun to use and hard to walk away from a practice session. So happy for the purchase!

Viel Leistung für wenig Geld (Warnung an A-Drummer)

Absolute Kaufempfehlung für Beginner oder andere, die von einem noch günstigeren E-Schlagzeug upgraden wollen.

Ich stimme den meisten positiven Rezensionen voll zu. Besonders dass man zu eigenen Songs spielen und Samples auf das Modul laden kann hat mich begeistert. Hier aber nur eine Liste der (kleineren) Mängel falls man schaut ob man nicht doch lieber tiefer in die Tasche greifen will:

- die Hi-Hat hat keine Splash und unterscheidet nur zwischen offen und geschlossen. Scheinbar benutzt es auch dafür immer den gleichen Sound nur moduliert. Schade, da man mit eigenen Sounds da vielleicht was Besseres hin bekommen hätte

- Standard voices (sounds) sind nicht so der Hammer. Aber man kann seine eigenen Samples nach Konvertierung in das richtige Format mit richtiger Abtastrate einspielen

- Die Triggerstelle für die Bell scheint nur ein kleiner Kreis in der Bell-Region zu sein und man muss schon ordentlich drauf hämmern, um zu triggern. Auch bei den anderen Becken ist es ein wenig schwierig, die anderen Zonen zu triggern.

- Es könnte noch leiser sein. Natürlich ist es mit einem akustischem Schlagzeug nicht zu vergleichen, aber man hört bei moderater Lautstärke durch die Over-ear Kopfhörer das Klappern der Fußmaschine und das Hämmern auf die Ride

- Selten sind aus unerklärlichen Gründen Töne weg (vor allem an der Kante bei der Hi-Hat)

- Latenz des Modules könnte geringer sein

Und nun zu dem Grund, warum ich es wieder zurückgegeben habe obwohl ich mich auf ein E-Schlagzeug seit meiner Kindheit gefreut hatte:

Es fühlt sich für mich nicht wie ein A-Schlagzeug an. Eher wie ein cooles Soundboard. Es sind halt immer die selben Sounds, mal lauter, mal leiser. Was genau fehlt kann ich nicht so genau beschreiben. Mein dringender Rat; hört euch nicht nur Beispiele auf Youtube an, sondern probiert es im Laden richtig aus.

Amazing entry level kit

For the price it’s stupendously good. Some triggering issues and the sounds aren’t great but it’s still worth buying as a starter kit. That it doesn’t remember the metronome tempo annd voice each time you turn it on is really annoying tho . The module screen is also difficult to read at times

Good entry level e-drums

This is my first e-drum set.

After owning them for a month I can say I'm glad I bought these. The build quality is good for the price range. They are not small, which is also great.

I can't say much about the quality of the sounds, because I have it connected to EZ-drummer on my computer and always play through that.

I had real drums at first, which were way too loud. I live in a house and still people could hear me 10 houses down the street.

These e-drums took away all of that and I can play along beautifilly.

If you live in an apartment, I would still suggest doing a youtube search, to see how loud e-drums are without them being plugged in, just to get a feel before buying.

Overall very happy with the purchase.

Absolutely perfect!

I purchased the millennium mps-850 a week ago and I’m 100% satisfied. The quality and the sound is awesome. Is a killer e-drum not only for beginners.

Pleasantly surprised ordering without trying out the set

The item description had all the right things at an affordable price point.

Two choke-able cymbals, Highat stand, choke-able 3-zone larger size ride cymbal with dome, mesh head playable 2-zone 8-inch high toms, 10-inch 2-zone snare, 2 - 10 inch "floor toms", and a good sized kick pad large enough for a double bass pedal. It's got a feature-packed sound module, great sounds and presets, and room for my edits. I couldn't realistically ask for more at any price and our pre-purchase online Customer service chats were helpful and helped me make my purchase decision.

Beyond expectation

Have had a great time with this kit. Very easy to use and I've beaten the c**p out of it and still going strong.

Best Drum Set for that price!

Overall a good drum set, the quality of the drum pads feels great and are not too loud. The internal sounds of the module are not very inspiring but if you connect it to a drum software like EZ Drummer or Addictive Keys it’s great. One thing I didn’t really like was the fact that the hi-hat kept spinning and even if I locked it in place, after a couple minutes it would spin again. I think they fixed though by making the whole hi-hat padded. The structure is quite sturdy and it can go from very wide open to very compact if space is an issue for you. Overall a bang for the buck!

UPDATE THE FIRMWARE

Heck, I spent a year or two playing this before figuring out I need to update the firmware.

The cymbal on Latin or something kept triggering song playback, contacted support but they didn't tell me to update firmware, had a random idea one day - and yep, that was it.

Firmware update notes:

Fixed a problem that might not boot up during factory reset.

Optimized the test of PCBA for flash in factory self-test mode.

Fixed a problem that might start a song automatically when playing.

Dead out of the box

Wrong power supply for USA.

Substitute p/s will not power it up.

Cust support is not helpful.

Impossible to just box it up and send it back. It's packaged like a puzzle with 13 boxes. Complete waste of money at this point. bad 1st impression of this company.

Very well built unit for this price range . Sound and features satisfied

Unparalleled features for the €, but soldering skills recommended

A kit with a full-fledged hi-hat stand, 4 tom pads and 2 crashes, and a module with 2 extra inputs for this price? Yes please. The last part is the main reason I still haven't "graduated" to Roland – I already use Y-splitter cables to add 3 more cymbal pads from my earlier Alesis kit (replacing 3 tom rim zones in this kit). Affordable Roland modules only have 1 extra zone input.

A main design flaw in this kit is in the 12" snare/tom pads; the red wire going to the pad's main piezo (component that senses stick hits) keeps breaking during use. This has happened to me 5+ times now in 3 different pads. You can tell it has happened when pad sensitivity starts decreasing dramatically, or disappears outright. You can of course RMA the pads and get replacements, but after those broke too, I got fed up with the waiting and the mounting e-waste, and just soldered the cables back. Much faster and more ecological too.

Less commonly, the cymbal pads have sensitivity issues too, but those I haven't been able to diagnose, as the internals seem fine. Simply unplugging and re-plugging the pads often helps.

Overall I don't regret my purchase, but Millenium should address the simple design flaw in the tom pads to dramatically improve the user experience and reduce e-waste.

It's affordable and packed with features and fun

I bought MPS 850e because it was an affordable e-drum option. What I needed was a way to practice and have a portable drumset for having fun and recording demos - this e-drum set is exactly that!

Note that if you are a bit taller, you maybe won't get to position all the cymbals as high as you'd like.
