All the features for a freaky low price

Having gone through the depths of internet, I haven't found a better kit for the price. Everything is adjustable (both hardware and software), can change midi message signals for each piece, velocity curves, sensitivity - all of it. I love the look of it too (pure white mesh heads). Pretty responsive, maybe the bell sound on the ride is hard to get consistently and the high hat sometimes gets stuck open, but that's all.

If you're looking for a lower price kit - don't. You need this. I upgraded from alesis nitro and never looked back.

(4 for quality because the switch on the hi hat was flimsy and broke off after a couple of months and 4 for sound because as always built in sounds are horrible and you have to use it as a midi controller to have a decent setup)

I don't think it's possible to get anything better in that price range...

Bought one for my cousin who is starting his journey with drumming and it's more than enough for him. It's really not far from let's say Roland TD1DMK and it's definitely better than anything that comes before it. Fully recommended.

Great drums!

I use these drums for practice and leisure drumming at home.

These are a great set of drums for the beginner/intermediate drummer.

Pros:

The feeling on the mesh pads is great and it's a really affordable set of d-drums that i certainly can recommend.

High level Bang for the buck, VERY price worthy set!

Cons: The choke on the cymbals are a little inconsistent.

The hi-hat does not have a half-open state.

The bell on the ride is kind of hard to trigger, but i think you can adjust your playstyle for it.

Great for its price

Full drum setup with 2 floor toms 2 crashes is great for the price but the response and the quality of default sounds are not really the best. However, it is still playable and lot of fun for hobbyists :)

Great drum kit for the price

I’ve had this drum kit for a bit over a month now. I’m an absolute beginner, with access to an acoustic kit from time to time.

I like the build quality. The rack is more solid than I expected. The drum pads react well after tweaking the module settings. Tuning the tension of the heads makes a difference but don’t expect the same feel as the acoustic drums. The quality of the samples is what you’d expect for the price.

The cymbals feel okay, although you have to figure out on your own where the zones are and how to hit them. This is especially noticeable in the ride, where to trigger the bell you have to hit precisely very narrow area of it.

This is kind of what I expected from reading all the reviews, so I just treat it as the accuracy practice.

So far I haven’t had any issues with the hi hat or its stand.

The included kick pedal isn’t very smooth and responsive. If this is the only kit you’ve every played, it may be fine, but in my case i felt i needed to upgrade it.

I was surprised how quiet the whole thing is. I live in an apartment so I was afraid it would bother my flatmate or downstair neighbors. Behind closed doors to the room you barely can hear anything, and the neighbors haven’t complained so far.

Overall I’m very happy with the kit, especially considering the budget I had available. I think it’s a great choice for beginners or people who don’t necessarily aspire to be pro.

Amazing Kit With Lots of Features

This kit is amazing. I use it daily for at least 2 hours and it takes a beating and survives. I had to do a lot of messing around with the pad settings in the module to make it sound exceptional and respond well, but after that it plays amazing and has a really nice feel. The snare and hi-hat sounds could be better, but that's my only complaint. My big thing with this kit is that to get a Roland or Alesis kit with this many features and pads would be way more expensive. This kit offers all those features at a way cheaper price.

Nice rig for nearly no money

I'm a bass player, not a drummer. That goes first. Better believe true drummers rather than me.

Second: this is a nice rig for no money. Good feeling on the pads and the kick, nice bank sounds, easy setup (hihat is a little tricky). No way (iat least i've not find it) to stop crash pads.

Be careful with the pad sensor wiring, it can be easily damaged as it's not too well isolated (i actually have two pads with cut wiring and pending on support), but it's easy to reinforce protection, you just need to take out a few screws.

Equalization is a little bit confusing as taking mix bars to min does not imply completely mute the channels.

Love this kit

Very affordable, lots of drums and cymbals, most kits of this price normally have 1 crash so to have 2 is amazing, hooks up to my DAW with no issues, I've used this to rehearse at home, to make content for my channel and to write and record demos for my band. can not recommend this kit highly enough

What you pay is what you get.

It's an decent starters drum kit for a fair price.

But don't expect to much from it.

The sounds aren't the most beautiful drum sounds you'll ever play on a e-drum set. Some drum sounds even sound pretty awful.

For a perfect kit I had to set up my own drum kit combining the best sounds I found and of course with some EQ tweaking on each drum/cymbal, etc.

After putting all this effort it was pretty much worth his price. Due to soft drum pads it's feels pretty good to drum on it. Drum pads have a pretty decent rebound. The only big issue I found is that sometimes the right crash doesn't recognize some hits which can sound pretty awful or lame during an performance.

I've heard this is not unique and comes very often with this kit. I've had friends with this kit telling me to have the same problem and with a bit of googling I found there were many more.

But after all if your budget is around this price It's a pretty decent starters kit. If you're more mediocre/senior I would recommend to go for an more expensive kit than this one.

This drum set is very good for any beginner.

Excellent value for the cost!

First off I'm not a drummer, I play the guitar and piano and trying to pick up the drums. My son is learning so this kit is more for him.

We had an entry level roland TD-1k and after a lot of research I decided to go with the MPS-850 based on cost and other reviews and many youtube videos. I had been looking at the roland TD-17kv but couldn't justify the price (and it excludes kick pedal and hi-hat stand).

This kit looks amazing, feels great to play, easy setup, well packaged. Admittedly some drum kits on my entry level roland sounded better but on the whole this kit sounds decent. Each sound can be adjusted and tweaked but i've not bothered as I link mine to Cubase + Addictive Drums 2 and the kit plays and sounds amazing.

Funnily enough, on AD2 the drum map to match all pads worked perfectly with the roland TD 30 map!

My son uses the kit via speakers, I use it via cubase for recording purpose, both of us are extremely happy with it, I cant recommend it enough.

Best value for money

This kit is the best value for money by far. The hi-hat is a little iffy but can be tweaked to an extent in the drum module settings. Highly recommend it for those who don't feel like dropping 2k+ on an e-kit.

The feel is that of a pretty high-end Roland/Yamaha kit, for the most part, comparing to more budget-friendly (~1-2k price range) Roland kits I'd say this is better. So far very happy with the purchase after a week or so of playing. For others who aren't hard-hitters, I recommend tweaking sensitivity settings on all the toms and the cymbals.

This set is wonderful for beginners. Although I prefer acoustic drums and I already had one, this set is great for practicing, specially now that I can't have an acoustic drum set at my current home. The hi-hats really gives you a great simulation of real ones. The rack is perfect and the 4th tom and 3rd cymbal is a must.

The only reason I don't give 5 stars to playable is because I feel the bass drum sensibility is a little bit weak, specially when using my double pedals.

Regarding quality/price is a very excellent choice if you can't afford to buy a more expensive e-drum set.

Excellent kit for lightweight users

TL:DR - Fully featured electric kit with mediocre sounds.

If you're looking at this kit, it's probably exactly what you're looking for. The kit itself is comprised of mesh head drums which feel great. It's an absolute upgrade from any hard plastic kit you may be playing right now.

The ONLY downside to this kit is the module, you get what you're paying for as far as the built in sounds go. You'll know you're playing an electric kit.

The assembly instructions are clean and concise. Most components are provided assembled (the drum mounts are pre-installed as outlined in the instructions). Feels more like legos than building a drum set. That being said, the kit still leaves a fair bit of room for customization in assembly, I personally changed up the recommended drum orientation after a short amount of time. You'll learn what works for you after spending time playing the kit.

One note to be made as someone who ordered this kit from North America is that the module was supplied with an EU power supply. This was 100% expected, but I can confirm for anyone who may be asking the question.

Highly recommended, but just know what you're buying.

Excellent price performer

A great drumset, for the price I really can't complain. I've bought it to get back into drumming after a long pause, since I can't practice on acoustic drums. It's a joy to play, connecting it to PC to trigger sounds was a breeze and module sounds are good enough for practice. It's also really quiet, two closed doors between us was enough for the wife to watch tv without me bothering her.

I only have two gripes with this drumset, first is a rather weak headphone output, so if you have high impedance headphones you will probably need an extra headphone amp.

The second is hihat splash (opening hihat while playing with sticks) It's hard to trigger accurately, you have to open it quite a bit before striking it for it to sound. Maybe it's a settings thing but I've tried quite a few trigger options and while it's gotten better it's not perfect.

For the price it's great!

Not the most sturdiest EDrum in the world. But it delivers as promised.

I don?t really use the onboard sounds, I use it as a controller for a PC Drum VST plugin. So, when comparing the onboard sounds with that it feels lacking in sound quality. But I thing it's not really a fair comparison.

Good for the price, but pads break easily

I've had this kit for about 6 months now and I've really enjoyed playing it...when it works. The pads feel realistic to strike, the Hi-Hat can be a bit finicky at times but works well enough for practice, and having a real kick pedal is a nice touch too.

However, I've had to contact customer support twice in such a short space of time in order to replace defective pads so I'm starting to think there is a reason this kit is cheaper than most. Pads have stopped registering beats correctly mid-practice, producing nothing but rim-clicks or no sounds at all which has made me have serious concerns about the longevity of this kit.

I wish I could leave a more positive review, since this kit offers a lot on the surface and is a great tool for beginner-intermediate drummers but at this point I would advise anyone looking at investing in E-drums to save your money and pick a higher quality product.

Perfect for the price

A rich set of pads.

The quality of hardware, pads and drum rack are unique.

Sensitivity is not bad. Responds to slow hits, but with more technical ones, hits are often lost. You may need to work with the module for sensitivity. The module offers functions that are found in quite high class modules. Definitely my favorite feature is that I can insert my own sounds. I tried an extra percussion pad from another big brand, but it didn't work properly, аpparently the module works best with their pads. My overall rating is excellent. You get great quality for your money. I can say that you can easily compare these drums with kits with three times bigger price than Millenium MPS-850. Sorry for the spelling, but it's not my native language. Greetings from Bulgaria
