Proco Rat 2 Distortion Reviews
Whoo
Every guitar player should have one. Best distortion I ever played around. Very versatile, could be fuzz, could be low gain, it is a must have one.
Cheap Really Good Distortion Pedal
I bought this pedal to play metal and i think it is really good. I dont have more distortion pedals but if youre trying to find one this is teh one.
You canât go wrong with this
I’m a beginner and my teacher recommended the ProCo Rat to be my first first distortion, and he definitely got it right. The sound is nice, the controls are good.
Reliable classic
What can you say about the Rat that hasn't already been said. Amazing range of tone from soft blues overdrive to dirty metal distortion. One of my all time favourite pedals.
The king of the underground!
This pedal is amazing. It can go from a booster pedal, to nice little distorsion, to fuzzy feeling tones in just a few seconds. You'll take some time to figure out with setting suits you the best, regarding the filter option.
Also, the price is really not that high for the quality you get.
Buy it now.
Great sound and quality of materials
I love the sound of this pedal and the flexibility, from overdrive to fuzzy tones. Only downside might be the size, it is a bit bulky if you have a compact pedalboard. The sound is a true legend!
An amazing Distortion pedal
An amazing Distortion, i highly recommend everyone who likes distortion to try it.
Perfect pedal
Does what it needs to. Good quality.
Minor issue - sound is not for every genre.
Great and versatile distortion
Great distortion!
Pros:
+ Sturdy (built like a tank)
+ Works well for both bass and guitar
+ Versatile - it can produce a huge amount of different sounds
Cons:
- If any, I'd say it is perhaps to versatile; you can get a great amount of sounds from it, ranging from mild distortion all the way to fuzz territory but it can be a bit hard to dial in a good sound - and even harder to find it again later; the slightest tweak of any of the knobs can have a pretty huge impact on the sound. So if you are the type that prefer "set and forget", this may not be the pedal for you.
I've had this for a few years now and so far it has worked without issues.
RAT Acid Pedal
Hands down the best pedal if u love the popular genre called acid!
If u pair it up with the iconic 303 then it gets wild! Also works great for percusion and especially for a kick or to distort another sweet bassline ;)
Classic alternative rock sound
Well, this is classic! If you're fan of groups like Sonic Youth, this is your choice.
The only con for me is weight and size.
Classic distortion
Surprisingly versatile pedal depending on how much dirt you add with how much you roll off your volume and tone.
Really happy with this one. Can really make your guitar sound like a plane crash if you’d like to.
Fat Ratt!
Super 80s sounding guitar pedal, the original Ratt is a must-have to create that fatt distortion sound of the 1980s. It's a very well-built pedal that is solid and trustworthy to carry with you to gigs. Absolutely recommend this pedal!
Epic Sound and versatility
What can you say that hasn't been said before - This is an awesome powerhouse of a pedal. Very versatile and straight forward to dial in the tone you want
The awesome 60s sound
Best for Born to be wild, Hendrix, Jimmy Page
True distortion
Finally, a pedal that offers true and authentic distortion that does not sound filtered or digitized. Easy to use and solidly built.
Built like a brick
Very solid pedal. Does what it says on the tin. Not flashy but gives a great sound.
low price no means low quility
but I Step off the foot switch when performing
you have to tame it
in my experience, this pedal sounds pretty nice, but has this hissing quality which im not a fan of. It takes quite some time to dial in everything just perfectly so you are satisfied with the sound. My biggest suggestion would be to try it before buying if theres a possibility to do so. If not - listen to as many demos on internet as possible. definitely not for everyone
Top!
Top effect, super robust quality. Great sound. I am using it not only for guitar, but to resample voice, bass and others.
