Just that... I find in them anything I need, tone and definition-wise, and I just couldn't be happier with their quality!!! I like to play around with different tunings, and thet offer a wide range of gauges. Also, the fact that a huge range of singles of any gauge are available to customize sets, is brilliant!!! From time to time I try other brands, and many are OK, but is just I have found my feel and tone with D'Addario, and I'm always going back to using them. It's a matter of taste, as always when sound is involved. For me they're PERFECT, I love them!!!
Daddario PL012 Single String

Great B string, really strong so it's not likely to snap under heavy playing, whether rhythm or lead. The sound is great for the highs, it's bright and clear within chords so nothing gets lost and for lead lines its smooth and not too piercing once you get into the higher positions of the neck. It sits nicely between various string gauges as well, without being too much of a change in size when moving from string to string, I'd be happy using a gauge .012 amongst various other string sets such as a .009 or .00105 set without any issue.

Pyramid 011

Strings are strings, but in my opinion some strings are more strings than other. The Pyramids are excellent in the three most important ways: they're last a very long time before they get dull (or break), they feel smooth to the fingers when bending and last, but not least, they sound great! Nickels strings may give a touch too little sparkle and bite for some guitars (or guitarists), but a high quality guitar/pickup with inherent good treble output will produce a wonderful, smooth tone with plenty of bite if so desired. As a bonus, these strings sound vintage, with a very solid, weighty tone. I tend to replace strings a lot more often when I use generic, more modern types. Such strings may sound better if your guitar is equipped with dull-sounding humbuckers, but the Pyramids goes...
Elixir .068 Electric Guitar String
Based on 6 reviews
I used to be somewhat sceptical with regard to coated strings, but after trying an Elixir set on my acoustic and loving them, I opted to try Elixir‘s .68 for the lowest string on my seven string. You know how the low stings often lose sparkle first? Growing dull and lifeless before the rest of the set is due for a change? Single strings from Elixir really solve that problem: swapping out the bottom sting for one of these, provides not only a clean bright tone, but also a very extended playing life. Highly recommended!
Daddario NW059 Single String

This is a great string for a low B on a 7-string guitar or a tunes down 6-string. Many 7-string guitars come with a 0.56 on the low side but I think this is far better on a normal "25.5 scale guitar because of the extra tension it gives. 0.56 is way too loose in my opinion, this 0.59 adds some well needed tension while it still retain enough clarity. The problem with non-baritone guitars is that you can't use too thick strings becasue you'll lose clarity but this string is a good compromise, good tension and good clarity.

Great sturdy build once again from D'Addario, I'd never go with any other brand. These strings can easily take a beating from the heaviest players and retain their great sound no matter what tuning you put them in, the stay nice and clear when down tuned without becoming muddy. They sound great in all sorts of tones, punchy and aggressive with heavy rhythm tones, smooth and singing in lead tones and warm in clean tones. Generally all round brilliant strings and last for ages under regular gigging conditions, even for me and my sweaty hands, can't recommend these enough at all.

Really tough string, as always from D'Addario. I play fairly heavily and batter my strings and these always last me ages. They remain sounding punchy and clear throughout their lifespan regardless of the tuning they're in or what kind of sound I'm using at the time. D'Addario's range of single strings are great for building custom sets for alternate tunings, as I often do. It allows me to get the perfectly balanced tension for whatever tuning I'm using at the time to produce the best sound and feel for what I'm after, more so than any other brand in my experience over the years.
Daddario PL0095 Single String

I did a lot of research before taking the plunge on this purchase. This was by no means a compulsive buy. I needed a single string at a specific gauge, a string that you could tune, a string that you could bend, a string that you could slide, snap and pop. I’m pleased to say this string ticked all the right boxes. It wasn't in tune out of the packet but once on the guitar it tuned up nicely. This string takes pedals well and even does metal. But the best thing is that it fits on most guitars. If you are in the market for a string, this string should be near the top of your list! Since I bought it I cant put this string down. Amazing!
