Justifiably a legend

SM58 is probably the most used microphone for vocals (and not only), and for a good reason. Incredibly sturdy, with great sound, and very affordable as well. Once you learn how to handle it as a vocalist, it's a reliable companion you'd want to take with you to ensure quality in your recordings and/or live performances. I really can't think of anything negative to say about this gem. It has been a global favourite for decades, some of your most favourite artists and bands have probably recorded on it, and it's all for a good reason! I'd highly recommend it as a priority to anyone building their home studio.

The perennial SM 58

What's to say? It's the classic great-sounding, workhorse micro. Can't beat it.

"THE" one microphone

Not much one can say that has not been said... You can do vocals, use it for instruments, recording, it is solid as a rock.

I mean, you know what you're getting

Does exactly what you'd expect from such an industry standard.

Do i really have to say anything about these?

I don't think so. Just, legends, workhorses. Good sound, simple-looking, very well built.

Perfect for Everyone

I have used this mic for both gigging and busking. I am a voice student in university and this is the mic they recommend and I can see why!

Just the ideal mic

What's not to like about the SM58. it's been industry standard for many many years and will be for many more years to come. Excellent value for money and sturdy enough it can take what a gigging musician can throw at it.

Default microphone

very simply, this is just the mic of all mics, when you think of a microphone THIS IS THE ONE, only thing thats missing is an on/off switch but overall PERFECT!

Good, but not the best

Well, firstly, it does what it is known to excel in. Not picking up noises that are far from it. I brought it solely for that as I live in a crazy house, basically a fish market. However, this mic does not produce recordings as accurately or with details of the vocal sound even at a close distance to the vocalist. It is hard when you want to do loud vocals and want it to record the precise details of the loud vocals as well. I think if you want the details of the vocal, you need to increase the sensitivity/gain right? Then if you increase it, this mic will give all the distortion and muffled sound you can find when recording the loud vocals. Then if you stand further, the vocal details are gone. It is a bummer.

Indestructible

I'm convinced you could drop this off a tall building plug it in and carry on the gig. Not much more I can add that hasn't already been said about this product. Great value for money. Will outlive me.

Still the industry standard surely.

It's an sm58. .... need I say more?

Yes, there are better microphones out there, but not at this price range.

There's good reason the sm58 has been around for an eternity.

I keep a spare always, but I sometimes wonder why as they are actually bullet proof I think.

Buy it!

Great for guitar and vocals and built like a tank, this mic will stand the test of time. I had previously tried to use a cheaper clone but it was faulty and inferior to the real thing. Glad I got this in the end, and I would replace it in the unlikely event it broke!

The Standard

There are better vocal mics out there, but I'll always go back to this as the standard to judge every vocal mic to.

Very robust and sounds good
