Perfect handheld podcast microphone

I was looking for a pair of handheld microphones for on-the-go podcast. What separated this from the rest of similar price range microphones, was the handling noise rejection and sound.

I really like the sound profile of this microphone. It sounds great when you listen to it live with headphones. I also like to add a bit more bass in post to get that perfect "studio radio/podcast" sound feel. Easy!

The handling noise rejection is extremely good. I don't use stands for my podcasts, since that'd require carrying microphone stands and a table on location, which is not always available. Me and a guest would just sit on whatever chairs or sofas are available and make ourselves comfortable. Holding the microphone is also fun.

If you want to save $50 for the same sound quality, you can, but you lose the low handling noise, which for me is worth it.

Durability is well-known and I don't need to worry about breaking this.

You get a carrying pouch for it, which is very useful. I wish it was a smaller.

If I had to say something negative about the microphone, then it'd be the weight. It's a little heavy.

Decent Mic

Great mic, could do with a mute switch \ button.

My only gripe is that it's not quite heavy enough to keep the Rode PSA-1 where you leave it, but with enough finagling you can have the weight of the cables\pop filter keep it in place.

great standart mic

No question that this legendary mic is really great product, very sturdy, great for live situations, but I had to replace it by BETA58 cause I play a lot on drums and sing simultaneously and the feedback issues were a problem with SM58, aswell as it was not as loud as BETA.

Unquestionable Mic

It's called legendary for a reason.

The quality is perfect, feels robust and durable and also comes in a neat lil bag for the mic.

Any vocalist would fall in love with it.

Classic, must-have

Probably the most famous microphone in the world. Very rugged-built so I can be tough on it. Sounds like a 58, for sure!

Great classic Microphone

Great mic for live performance, I find not so much for recording as a condenser is better for recording. Great microphone when utilised right!

One of the best budget options that you may find on the market

I got few of those and it was surprisingly good for the price.

We have used that model few years now and it give us everything we need for our vocals.

Perfect

With an SM58 you know exactly what you're getting - an industry standard microphone, built like a tank to last years of use, perfect for both recording and live purposes. It may not have some of the fancy features you can expect on higher priced microphones but it's well priced for what you get and everyone should have at least one of these mics in their arsenal.

Best mic for its price range.

Sometimes the picked voice can sound a little harsh.

Very solid, it never breaks.

I am glad I didn't get something else

With a microphone with such history, it needs no introduction. The only question that will pop into one's mind is - do I get *the* microphone, or do I get something else?

I'm glad I didn't. It's exactly as good as years of constant sales would lead you to believe. It's built amazingly well, and it sounds just like it should, with minimal adjustments needed.

Before it arrived, I had two other mics that I've used; both about 1/3 to half the price. While they were adequate, you didn't think twice about them. You used them like you'd use a dishwasher.

SM58 feels like a proper instrument that reacts to the way you sing, instead of just recreating the input.

One of the best

What can I say about this microphone, one of the best all-round microphones for PA work, Great for vocal and multiple sources, built like a tank, and extremely feedback friendly. I've never met anyone with a broken SM 58, but its not only for live work, very handy in the studio was well.

"Legendary vocal Microphone" Indeed

The sound is very good for the money and is as versatile as can be. Used on vocals, baritone horns, snares, kicks, you name it. The result was always satisfactory.

Does exactly what it says it does, great for anything from samples to vocals/instruments etc!
