Shure SM58 LC Reviews
great for live acts
this microphone is awesome, very flexible and strong for live acts!
Solid as ever
This sets a benchmark on how a dynamic microphone should sound and perform specially in a live situation.
A classic
The most versatile, basic and classic microphone
It's the vocal mic!
I bought a couple of cheaper vocal mics before for rehearsals but I never was happy with them , the minute I plugged the 58 I said that's it , it cuts through the mix, no handle noise , its build like a tank and it doesn't scream with feed back as easy as the others.
It's the industry standard for a reason!
Awesome mic for the price
You really can't beat this mic. I have bought Rode PodMic together with this one to try out which one I will use for a podcast and the voice with Shure is just perfect.
The mic comes with a clip, a case, and a small nut to be used to put a clip on a stand.
For beginners and more experienced this is a go-to mic.
You can't go wrong with an SM58
I bought this to take with me for rehearsals, so I could avoid the low quality mic' the rehearsal space is offering. It's a definite improvement over the rehearsal stock mics, both in terms of better and louder output.
Don't mess!
Industry standard, reliable (I'll be handing this mic down to my great grandchildren!) and no nonsense.
When you're getting ready for a gig you want the best sound for little fuss. There's a lot can go wrong, but the 58 is a strong link in the chain.
no doubt it is called the legendary microphone
Industry standard
What more can be said about a legend among the microphones? You can find it in any stage anywhere on the planet because is affordable and built like a tank and the sound is as good as it gets.
A classic
A classic choice needed in every sound engineers mic pack.
Sometimes you just need the roughness and toughness of a good ol' SM58!
Not the best sounding mic, but there is always a vocal that will sound better on this than on a B58 or even a D:facto II.
Most times not, but when it hits, it hits.
Legendary Sound
Great sound as always. SM58 never dissapoints.
Great standard mic
An industry standard mic! Built like a tank and ready to withstand some rough years on the road.
I bought it to have my on mic when going to gigs( due to COVID ). It's great because every sound technician has worked with one and so sound check tends to be easy.
Overall is an excellent choice for anyone that will give it the heavy use it deserves!
What can you say about this mic that hasn't already been said. Since the moment you take it in your hands and you plug it in, you understand why it's an industry staple. Great value for money.
Legendary mic for a reason
Very well built, audio quality is magnificent!
Great microphone, excellent sound
Aside from the obvious fact that this microphone is one of the lowest outputting mics out there (which you can gather from many reviews online) everything about this exceeded expectations.
Pros:
- Built like a tank
- Very good for noisy rooms, as 90% of the sound it picks up is from 0-50 cm in front of it
- Warm sounding, but you can manage that depending on how far from it you're speaking/singing
Cons:
- Will need some sort of a preamp or post production if it's not loud enough for you, it's really quiet unless you put the sound source right on top of the microphone's head while recording. I personally don't mind it, but it's more quiet than I expected initially
the most common good mic around
It's by far the most used, well known, durable, sturdy, good sounding live mic around. There's not a single tech who doesn't know how it reacts and sounds. There's not a single stage anywhere in the world with a bunch of them ready to be used. Or abused, it never fails.
But, even if it's the standard that everybody use as a term of comparison, it may not be the best for YOUR voice.
I don't love it with mine for example. There's a thing on mid frequencies that doesn't marry that good with my voice. I prefer other similar priced mics, sometimes I prefer singing with a 57.
So it may not be the best for you, but you must start from here, it's the number 1 of any mic arsenal, along with its cousin SM57.
Incredibile for the price
I great mic especially for its price ! The quality is amazing !
Legendary
Yes, it's the best bang for the buck mic out there.
It's been my workhorse for many years and it never let me down.
In my humble opinion, it's the most versatile mic. I've used it on everything from solo voice, to instruments, groups, choirs, drums.
A true workhorse.
