A Bang for the Buck

Exceeded my expectations. I bought 2 of these and I average them in order to ring out rooms I place the PA into. It does the job really well and the mic holder is sturdy as well. Really good product and I'm happy with it.

Good Measurement Microphone

I use a microphone in conjunction with a mixer console beringer for measuring the acoustical rooms.

I got this mic for room acoustics measurements. I use it when setting up sound reinforcement in live venues and for checking & balancing home/location studio setups.

I remember learning about room acoustic measurement systems in college, thinking "I'll never be able to afford such a system". Things have changed, for the better.

An omni-directional mic with such wide & flat frequency response is restricted in terms of ideal applications. Besides measurement, it would serve well as an overhead mic for overall ambience in a live room recording, as drum kit overhead, or for choir or classical room ambience. Basically, anywhere you might be inclined to use a single small-diaphragm condenser, where a degree of ambience is desirable, this will do nicely.

It even comes with a little windshield, so that you could also use it for soundart, location sound effects recording, or filmmaking where you'd like an ambience channel.

The case it comes in is sturdy & practical. This is the second special-purpose Superlux mic I've bought, not expecting great quality, but I have to say they're both very rugged mechanically and very satisfactory audio-wise. Surprisingly so, for the price.

Simply goo

Very well built measurement mic on budget. Do most of the jobs that expensive can do. Really good for beginners

Great mic for a even better price

This is probably one of the best measurement mics I've used for the price it is. The built quality of it is extremely high for such a low price. The frequency response is extremely flat, which in the world of sound, is what you're looking for when tuning a system. I would even rate this better than the Behringer equivalent (ECM 8000)

Good measuring mic and also good recording mic for electric guitar

I bought this mic to do measurements in my home studio. I takes a lot of energy without feedbacking and works flawlessly, incomparably better then the "famous" Behringer ECM8000. I tried to use it as recording mic for a full stack tub amp driven by active EMG pickups, and worked perfectly. Since then I use the same position and setup, and it takes 1 take to have the perfect sound in my DAW.

Great investment

We have bought the Superlux ECM 999 for our wedding band and are extremely enthusiastic.

It is supplied in a sturdy case for transport and with the matching microphoneclamp because it is slightly thinner than normal microphones.

We use it with our Presonus 16.4.2. desk and the Smaart Room Analysis Software.

In the high frequency breaks a litte but that´s something you can easily correct by listening through.

Since we measure the space we have a much better and clearer band sound.

The microphone is top in this price range.

You only have to plug in and it works.

Really an absolutely great investment and a clear recommendation by us.

Cheaper alternative to the Behringer

Just wanted an omnidirectional like this for measuring the studio acoustics and didn't want to fork out silly money for 'proper' measurement mics. The Behringer ECM8000 appears to be a very similar mic but I have no confidence in their gear generally so wouldn't buy theirs! This Superlux is cheaper and works just fine. Sounds clean too so I am sure I will find more uses for it.

Superlux ECM999

Does what it says on the tin! very reasonable priced measurement mic. We use it in conjuction with presonus desk and smarrt software to tune systems. Not as accurate as a high end mic but for a fraction of the price it is in the ball park
