Superlux HD-681 Evo BK Reviews
Sounds great for the price
great sound, very uncomfortable
it feels like my head is in between a vise it is so uncomfortable, the ear pieces do not fit naturally and cause my ears to be hot, sweaty and pressed down. the sound however is great for the price. also, these are not durable, mine broke in two months of minimal usage.
Superluxe headphones
What we pay is what we get. Cheap is not bad ..!
For the price, these are good headphones.
Love-hate headset
I bought this headset 2 times so far, it's the best sound you can get for the money but it has a very very very big problem with the output jack material...the plastic that holds the Jack worns out extremely fast and cuts the Jack, I really like this headset but they need to do something about this problem
Surprising!
Im positively surprised by Superlux products and how criminally underrated they are! These are a great pair of headphones. The low end separation and response on these is fine as hell. Compared to AKGs, Sennheisers and Audio Technica headphones in the $300 range even dont even come close. These headphones are a producers dirty little secret. I hope they dont get discovered.... but they definitely deserve some recognition.
This is my second purchase. Just because I wanted two, in case something happens to 1. Which did. Which is why I just wanna raise one issue. The top rubber on the previous ones broke on the side and went loose. So they werent so tight anymore. I had to repair that.
Other than that all good. Highly recommended!
Great headphones for a great price
I had these headphones for many years and recently ordered two new pairs because of how good they are.
Bon casque à petit prix
J'ai acheté ce casque dans le but de mixer des productions en home-studio (niveau intermédiaire). A ce prix, le son et le confort du casque sont tout à fait honnêtes, il conviendra aux débutants et intermédiaires.
Great sound but uncomfortable
Great sound, lots of bass without sacrificing highs, but very very heavy and uncomfortable
Best bang for the buck
For this price, they easily beat AKG costing more than the double. These EVO are just great, only issue with connector. It breaks easily. My suggestion : consider them as consumables, and buy again when they break up.
Using them for mastering, very well balanced sound, realistic frequency response, and absolutely comfortable.
Amazing Headphones!
Genuinely blown away by these headphones, used them with the iConnect while playing guitar and cant believe how good they are. Now using them for work and listening to music. For the money, comfort and ease of use!
Fantastic sound let down by build quality
These are BY FAR the best sounding headphones I have ever used in my life, with great treble and fantastic bass response. They are light and comfortable as well.
HOWEVER, build quality is a let down, especially the flimsy cable connector is GUARANTEED to give up the ghost within a year or two even if you are extremely careful. I know this, having purchased THREE sets of HD-681 Evos :(
Great sound quality
I bought this to use in my home studio and i must tell you that this headset has really good quality. The only thing that I can mention is that it doesn't feel too comfortable compared to other headsets i have owned. Then again for the price it is superb.
Cheap option for studio headphones
I bought this for my son to use to do electronic music. The sound quality is much better than the price tag suggests. The comform is fine, they are reasonably light and comfortable. They do not feel as sturdy as some more expensive models but for the price these are good value.
Sounds fantastic, but...
Sounds fantastic but the build is a bit plasticky.
Although for this price I guess you can’t have it all.
Good Headphones, with extra Bass response.
You can't go wrong for the price.
This is a really well-rounded kit. Additional velcro and cables - all nice touches. The sound is clear, sound isolation is also fine considering it is only a semi-closed design.
You might struggle a bit if you have a big head like I do; in that case just replace the leather earpads with the included velour ones - they are quite more comfortable at least during the first 30 minutes.
All in all the overall build quality is more than fine, considering the cost.
If there is one thing I would change, it's that 3.5mm jack that is hanging out from the left side and feels like it's going to be the first thing to break.
Great to have a couple of pairs lying around as spares in any studio
These are comfy enough for tracking, good enough quality that I don't feel like I'll have to replace them in 6 months and sound fine for the price.
Quite ok headphones with one main problem
I bought these headphones mainly for just listening to podcasts, audiobooks and so on. They are quite comfortable to wear, although just a bit too big for lying down. The sound is also ok, but a bit too bassy for me. Of course these are matters of taste, but the main problem I have with them is as follows: The two reasons I bought these headphones were the price and detachable cable. Here's the thing, the jack you plug the cable in dangles from a small bit of wire, so it completely defeated the purpose for the detachable. The headphones broke after about 6 months of use. After that I bought Fun Generation HP-7 headphones and although even cheaper they have served the purpose described above for almost two years.
Great budget headphones
Use:
Home recording.
Pros:
Low price.
Velour earpads are very comfortable, and you can change them with false leather ear pads whenever you want.
Extra 3m long cable.
The cable is removable.
Cons:
Not sure yet. The material feels like I could break them easily.
Summary:
I think that that's the best choice for making demo recordings at home. You'll have a good sound and they will not feel uncomfortable. Best buy in this price range!
