I ?wietnie zakrywaj?ca?e uszy, komfortowo. U?ywam z piecem do gitary.

Incredible bang for the buck

The Superlux HD-681 was the first over the ear headphone that I bought for music production. I read a lot of positive reviews and decided to give it a try. I wanted a budget headphone quite neutral (allowing to mix at late night) but with a good bass response, since I mainly produce electronic music. I now also have more expensive headphones from Audio Technica and Beyerdynamic. A direct comparison would not make sense, since the price does vary, but they provide me with some references to write the review. Summing up:

+ very good comfort, actually it is the more comfortable headphone that I have (for my head shape)

+ Nice sound. Thanks to the 50mm driver and its eq shape, bass sounds very full and it makes fun to listen music with them.

On the other hand I would not really recommend to mix on these (but I generally would not recommend to mix on headphones if possible), but for "sketching" or creating a beat they will get the work done, and you can fix the mix later on monitors

+ you get 2 cables, adapter 3.5 to 6.3mm, and a bag! The shorter cable is really practical if you work with a USB audio interface that is close to you

+ they work also with low power output (a mobile phone, just crank the volume up). With a proper amp (or with a standard sound card) of course they sound better

- nothing for the price. Maybe, if you care the look... They are very "studio" (AKG look) and probably they look funny if you plan to use them in the subway. They are however not designed for that (they are semi open).

I would definitely recommend them. In their price range they are difficult to beat.

Incredible value for money

Compared to Sennheiser HD600 or ATH-R70X there is a little bit less detail, but not massively so. Considering it's 20x cheaper, it's amazing. I would be happy to use this instead of either. The subbass extension is very good, as is stereo imaging, and it's relatively flat in terms of frequency response.

Very nice headphones for the price

Slightly V-shaped frequency response, sound great for casual use. Use them for home production when I can't use my speakers, and they do a decent job.

I find them comfortable, but have a slightly large head, could be slightly too big on someone with a smaller head.

Brilliant Headphones for the price

I bought these pair of headphones for casual listening, guitar tracking and second reference for my mixes. I also own a pair of Audio Technica ath-m50x for my primary home studio use.

pros:

- price to sound clarity ratio: you can not get such clarity for less than 30 euros. They do not come at par with my M50x's, but those also cost about 140Eu.

- sturdy construction

- removable cable

Cons:

- the sound does bleed in the environment, hence it could be a problem while using them in silent locations

- bulky. They are a little bulky and do take up some volume.

I am super happy with these. I do not use them while travelling, but primarily at static locations. Hence, they work perfectly for me.

absolutely amazing

more than 1 year using them for every day tasks (listening to music, watching films, etc) and they still absolutely rock

I did a slight mod to reduce the high freq and use the velour pads

extremely comfortable too as I have them on for 8h straight sometimes

I'm thinking on getting a 2nd pair

Great unit, incredible value

Great unit, incredible value. Only problem is that the thicker cable attachment at the left can has worn to break in a few months. It is now intermittently cutting out on one side. I bought a backup item, and on this one this does not happen so it may have been a fluke. Good value.

Great for the price!

Not high end by any means bet serve the purpose well for making beats on a budget, may not be ideal for mastering etc but give a good representation of what you are making/listening to , got some ATH M50's now which i love but still use the Superlux for watching movies on laptop etc, the band is a bit flimsy and finally broke at the thin parts that join the ear pieces (repaired myself and still working)

Low price, great quality!

I had the 681 couple of years ago, was impressed by the quality for headphones at such low price, that's why I decided to upgrade them with the EVO. Worth every cent. Literally. Warm sound, comfortable wearing, two pairs of cable (long and short). The only unperfection is that they don't kill the surrounding sound, but for 30 euro I believe you can't expect everything to be at top.

Thank you.

Very good.

More comfortable than the simple HD 681, still sound the same. Very good sound for the price, the build quality is ok. The simple HD681 have been "vandalized" from extreme usage in studio and rehearsals and still work just fine. I expect the same from HD681 Evo.

Great buy for the amateur musician.

Best headphones in this price range.

Other reviewers have already said everything, no need to repeat. These are the greatest headphones in this price range. Period. And I have a Sennheiser HD-650 as my main headphones. I've compared both extensively on an Apogee Groove DAC/AMP. Of course the HD-650 are superior, but not by a huge margin, and the Superlux fares really well and that speaks really a lot! If one is interested in sound differences between both, to me the Superlux sounds a bit more V-shaped, it has more pronounced bass and treble, hence not as neutral as the Sennheisers, but nevertheless I enjoy and love both!

The only complaint I have is about the comfort. The pad openings are just about (or slightly under) the size of my ears, and my ears are normal size, so after few hours of listening I can feel a discomfort in my ears from pads pressing against the rims of the ears. In that respect the Sennheisers are miles ahead, I can leave them all day on my head.

But remember, the Sennheisers are ¤300 and the SuperLux is ¤29 :)

Super accurate sound. Top notch quality vs. price ratio. Doesn't get any better than this if one is looking for inexpensive, high quality, comfortable headphones for studio.

Headphones for everyone and for everywhere !

After buying Superlux HD-662 Evo, I could not resist to buy one more pair, and I opted for the same category but a semi-opened one. I will try to compare those two model as best as I can.

First of all the HD-681 have less clamping force, and they are much more comfotable then the HD-662, and I can where them much longer before they start to get a bit uncomfortable. The build quality is almost the same, and the quality is more then is shold be for the given price. The packaging is the same, with just one difference, the velour pads on 681 are not that good like on the 662. They are a bit harder and stiffer, but still decent.

The things that I like the most about these are the detachable cable, whitch is the best implemanation on the market, period.

The sound signature is very similar to the 662 Evo, like I have expected, but a margin better on 681, and I even like them more, and use them more often. The bass is there, it's punchy but not so tight like one the 662. The mids and highs are warmer, and bit more clear then on the 662.

Overall from my perspective you won't make a mistake buying either par, but I recomend slightly more the 681 over the closed back HD-662 Evo.

The best headphones in this price group, with no doubt.

unreal value

Unreal sound for the price, they literally demolish everything i have tried in this price range, its not even a contest.

Would definitely buy again from this brand.

It's even more crazy that they give two pairs of pads, and two cables too...

just Über cool

Compelling saving

I consider this a surprisingly good product, not only for the price.

I like:

- Sound. I liked them immediately: it's a rich sound that entertained me out of the box;

- Comfort. The elastic headband makes easy to find the correct position. The standard ear pads are very big and don't apply pressure to my ears; in the box there are also a pair of velour ear pads;

- Detachable cable; two of them, of different lengths, are supplied.

I don't like:

- They don?t seem robust as other headphones I have, but time will say.

Other products I know about:

- If you need foldable headphones for an on the go setup, consider the HD-685: they are much easier to carry and sound more neutral;

- If you like the HD-681 Evo engaging sound but you need more isolation from outside noise, consider the HD-662 Evo;

- If you like a "warmer" sound with more isolation from outside noise, or if you need higher impedance, consider the HD-660.

The best headphones under 30¤?!?!

Fantastic sound, everything you'd look for as a musician, whether it's for listening to music or recording or practising or whatever... these do it all and they do it just very very good. I wasn't expecting that quality of sound. Recommending this to everyone, just buy and be surprised!
