tc electronic Flashback 2 Delay Reviews
In one word - wow.
The Flashback just got better - at an even lower price point.
Analog dry-through, with great sounding delays, new algorithms for tape / analog (dive bombs - yay!), it can be configured to keep the delay repetas after it is switched off, and the MASH switch is great fun to play with - and with a bit of practice can be very useful. And of course, the three TonePrint slots are the icing on the cake.
The only drawbacks I find apply to all TonePrint enabled pedals, and have to do with the editor: a few crashes here and there, doesn't allow editing on Android, you can't export your saved presets from your computer to your phone / tablet, and the user manual is quite outdated, so it isn't always obvious what each of the (many!) parameters does.
On the flip side, using the editor opens up an infinite array of sonic possibilities, way beyond what the simple appearance of the pedal would lead you to believe. And of course, even without using the editor, it's still an amazing sounding pedal.
Now if only TC would allow us to tweak the built-in presets without having to waste TonePrint slots...
A top class delay bedal
TC electronic live up to their name with this pedal. It delivers good sound with a variety of effects. Looper is a bonus.
Overall good product but nothing exceptional(except for mash button)
This pedal is a great gateway pedal if you don't know what to expect from a delay pedal and this pedal delivers a lot of nice features within itself like the mash button which is quiet expressive as far as I can decide.
Mods within the pedal are quiet sufficient but honestly they are not exceptionally good (or bad).
What I can say about this pedal is that this is a great tool if you want to experiment with different types of delays. Absolutely recommended!
Mash is nice but Tempo not easy to sync
The new mash technology is very fun to use! it might get realy loud so keep a finger on the level knob while using the Mash footswitch.
Unfortuently to sync the tempo you need an external tap tempo footswitch through the stereo input (beatmakers are any kind of synth giving the tempo...don't work)
If you don't like to tap the tempo you can activate the "listen mode" which allows an audio sync by desactivating de "Mash mode" on a computer I guess... if only there were a switch for that!
The best so far
I owned BOSS DD3, Seymour Duncan Vapour Trail, TC Flashback and MXR Carbon Copy.
Flashback II is the best sounding so far. There is a huge step forward comparing the Flashback. Anakog and Tape mode are awsome. I sold my BOSS DD3 and SD Vapour Trail.
Maybe in the future I'll try Strymon Timeline but so far I'm very satisfied with FBII.
