It works

I play guitar in a five piece rock band and we were looking for on stage monitors because we do a lot of little gigs where we do our own sound. We've used theses monitors for a couple of weeks in rehearsals and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Pros:

Plenty of power for stage monitors.

Simple effective controls. Easy to EQ to cut through the mix.

Solid, gig worthy, build construction.

Adaptable configurations (two inputs allow personalization of monitors).

Cons

They're heavy?

I haven't found anything to complain about really.

Easy to use, and good for the price

I use the monitor for e-drum practice in our (non-acoustically treated) studio/room. Due to the acoustics, the sounds does make the higher toms sound a bit boxy. Other than that, the build quality is very decent for the price, and the features it has is more than enough for me.

The monitor cuts off at 16khz, which might be a turn-off for some people. It definitely affects my case as well, but since it's only used for practice, it's very easily ignored.

Definitely recommend it for entry-level edrum practicing!

Price - Quality hard to beat

Using this in the band as monitor for some years now. Works perfectly for us, offers plenty of features and for the price will be hard to beat!

Very Good Solid Monitor

Great Monitor! PROS: solid build with great sound, great clarity with a lot of punch. Cons: No Jack input - most mixing desks use jack Auxiliaries for monitors. A lifting strap on the horizontal would be helpful.

Overall a great monitor for the price. Will in no doubt be using this for many years to come.

Good build, decent sound

The build quality is really good. I use it in my room as the only all-purpose amp for instruments.

The sound isn't as good as I expected but it's decent enough so you can play.

Great little monitor seaker!

This is a great little Monitor speaker I purchased for myself as a drummer, it sits next to me at ear height sat on top of a sub that has my kick through, this monitor has never let me down and has more than enough power for most venues! Its well made and has lasted me years!

Amazing for the price

I use this for monitoring in my bedroom studio. It does the job really well and gets loud for a home/bedroom studio but I don't think it would be enough for a loud gig, I mean I feel like it will probably be hearable but not much.

Build quality feels very nice, no complaints here for the price

Sound quality is decent and most importantly eq is responsive, so for the money I would totally recomend this.

Excellent Monitor, but not loud.

I have used a few of these but they are not as loud as you would expect from the power rating. 120w should be louder than a Marshall 100w half-stack. It isn't. Nevertheless, it is loud enough for our uses which are varied: band monitor, individual vocalist amp, general small PA.

Very good budget active monitors!

Great compromise of price and value

I use this active speaker for electronic drums and digital piano, and it 's good choice if you are searching for some active box for a good price.

Ok sound, not very loud though

For this size you expect more sound. Quality is good though. A pity the Box does not come with a cable so it is not plug and play. An unpleasant surprise that you want to plug it in immediately after arrival and you have to go to a shop for a cable.

Cheap and cheerful - handy purchase

It's great value, it has the features you'd expect and it works well - I have 3 or 4 of them

Surprisingly good

We use these with the passive version, one on each side of the drum kit (acoustic in 1 room, electronic in another). We also use 1 on its own for bass guitar monitor. Our musicians like them. The volume & EQ controls are easy to get to and they have enough bass in their monitors. They are solidly built & feel like they will last. Sound quality is good given the price point and loud enough even for the drummer.

Small, compact but very reliable monitor with a nice and linear sound.

Strongly recommend for bands, Dj's, and any other application required.

It is extremely lightweight and easy to carry and takes up very little space, yet is quite powerful.

For the price, it's a bargain!

its only 120db but its great for what i needed. the sound is very clear, one nice thing about it is the amount of inputs and outs it has

A pleasant surprise

Honestly I didn't know what to expect from the Box MA120 MKII. My budget was tight and I really had to rely on the reviews of others buuuut....I got blown away when I heard it!

Honestly, I don't know if there are many other speakers out there at this price range that deliver that well. We wanted to use it in our home studio for rehearsals (metal music) only for vocals and the clarity it delivers was not expected by any of us when we found out the price. You can listen to all the depth of the voice and the basic e.q. it offers, can help you adjust it just the way you want it.

One of the best things this speaker has to offer is the VERY EASY access to controls that it features, since they are placed on the front so I don't have to guess and hope I turn the right knob in Breill system every time i need to do adjustments. Another thing that impressed me is the construction quality and the materials used. Honestly, the only thing I could ask more would be just a little bit more Wattage but that's just me.

I am not saying that this is the BEST speaker one can find. I am saying that this is one of the VERY BEST speakers in this price range.

Always consider the job you want it for, however excellent value for money.

P.S. Also works well when I tried to play my acoustic guitar in front of the mic I plugged in it and soundwise it delivered very warm and well. However that's why I'd wish for a little extra Watts.

usefull, easy to carry, durable but not so high quality for serious performances, it is realy enough for acoustic pub performances.

Heavy stuff

So I just got these puppies for the band and have been testing them as much as I can.

They're crazy solidly built, and as such are also incredibly heavy (which is kind of a plus ?) and feel good to handle.

The mic input is a nice plus and so is the speakon bridge out, although I haven't bought the extra cabs yet, the knobs feel mostly nice (the volume pots are stepped !!!) and it's all in all pretty sturdy.

Sound wise these are kind of what I expected, they're 130 bucks. For floor monitors they're good enough, even though the volume is lacking just a touch of headroom. But I would not use these as main PA speakers. They're lacking both low low-end and High High-end and the mids are a bit muddy and unclear, works great for drums and guitars and all, but that's about it.

So all in all, as a first pair of monitors for a non-touring and slightly gigging band the MA120s are a great buy.

Use two for monitors - very happy

Great unit, however bass response is very strong and needs to be dialed back. Used weekly for two years and works fine, also good for very small/ quite gigs.
