great value for money

fantastic piece of kit. Had the cube before this but it just didnt have the power needed for a band settings. This goes out with us 5 nights a week, from really loud venues to quieter ones. Also robust.

Excellent personal monitor

I gig regularly with an acoustic trio and was just never 100% confident while playing/singing so I decided to buy myself a monitor and am I happy I did! It is pretty light and has a handle for easy handling, sound quality is nice and crisp and the volume is more than enough, I am so much more confident with my vocals now as I can hear everything and not having to stick a finger in my ear to actually hear myself :) very happy indeed!

Rugged Monitor

This is a simple no-frills wedge. Durable and reliable, at a very reasonable price. It delivers good SPL for live sound foldback.

Can work as stand-alone speaker for small venues. The mic input can also be useful for simple vocal amplification.

Heavy, but does the job

We use this as our drummer's monitor, and he is always happy with the sound he gets. It's a bit of a beast to carry around, but such good value, and hasn't let us down in the 5 years we've had it. Really good to be able to chain another passive wedge off it, too.

No.

It has muffled low-quality sound, it's rather heavy for it's size and you need weird cables just to hook it up. Yeah it's cheap but I wouldn't want it for free. Avoid.

A modern day bargain!

I've ended up owning three of these monitors over the years and I've advised countless other friends in bands to purchase this model as there is nothing else on the market that comes close to this model.

The build quality is fantastic and they have a reassuring 'heft' to them. My 3 were gigged all around the country and thrown in a back of a van night after night and they never let me down so I don't have any reservations about their reliability.

One of the killer features is the fact that these can be pole mounted and as such can be used for FOH speakers at smaller gigs or, as I did, speakers for rehearsals to save having to drag much larger and heavier equipment to the rehearsal room.

The monitor accepts both line and mic level signals so it can also be used for a direct vocal amp/speaker which is a great feature for small gigs where only the vocals need to be amplified (hotel and restaurant gigs for instance)

The monitor does take XLR inputs so if you do want to send a line level signal in you will need to use an adaptor or go via a DI box to allow a mic level signal in.

No fuss.

Bought x4 of these to upgrade from passive monitors sharing two channels. They work so much better. We have more control over what every need to hear. Theres plenty of power in these and will doubt if we ever have to turn them up past half way. Although heavy, they are really sturdy and can also be used as FOH if need be, not tried them like that yet though.

I bought this to use with the box PA m Eco passive monitor. By slaving that unit to this, you get 2 monitors for very little money. They aren't the greatest in the world but are more than adequate

This is what i consider a very clever product, a sign it was well thought out

Sturdy build, nice array of functions, adequate power & audio quality for our band's needs, it suits our percussionist perfectly for amping his stuff with a couple of mics

Small money - decent monitor

Easy to use, cheap monitor.

Sounds fine, not wonderful but adequate for a basic monitor. This will do the job if it's carefully looked after. It is easy to damage so take care and be as gentle as possible. I forced an xlr in one of the housings and the internal solder came apart.

Naturally, at this price the build quality won't withstand much rough treatment but after I fixed it and learned to be gentle; there's been no problem with the monitor.

If you are a light gigging musician/dj/mc this will do the job nicely but a touring professional might need to spend a little more for peace of mind and longevity.

The end-flange is a nice touch which allows it to be mounted on a speaker-stand. I've used this feature on places which need a small PA for announcements and such and it's worked fine.

All in all - it's everything I expected and more for the price.

Good monitor box for the money

It's a good monitor for the money and although, I haven't tried it the second speaker option is good to have. I can't really see it being used as an out front speaker though. It doesn't pack the power for that. So, I won't be getting a speaker strand for it. I did splash out on the cover and you'll probably need a 1/4" jack to XLR male adapter to get it running off your desk.

Excellent bang for buck.

We bought a pair of those 6 months ago. We've used them a lot, as main PA speakers on small events and gigs, monitors for the band in bigger gigs and simply to listen to music in our garage. There are definitely better speakers out there, but none even close to this price. If on a tight budget, don't think twice!

Works but with limitations

Has a nasty tendency to clip with the volume at 50% or over, shame as the sound quality and clarity are decent.

I am very pleased with this produckt. I have used this monitor many times and it has delivered every time. I think that is affordable and it suitable to beginners, but also more experienced band. A must if you need a low-cost monitor.

Value for money

As an entry level monitor you can't beat the box for the price. It's built to last. I take them to gigs and even use them as tv and stereo speakers. Note: these speakers sound much better after a "burn in" of about 100 hours.

Excellent powerhouse speakers

I bought this as a set of four - three of these and the ig brother 15". They are great - excellent sound, very robust pumping bass, great quality for the price. My only gripe is I use them as a monitor from the desk which is what they are meant for. My output is a Jack - but there is no Jack input on the speakers.

Other than that they are fine monitors and the band can now hear everything

Good Value/Price

I have been using them for monitoring my guitar amp (both in rehearsal and small gigs). They are loud enough to do a good job as a small stage monitor. As expected, the bass register isnt that good, but middle an high are clear. They are very directional, so if you get 1m off speaker direction they are almost silent (good for micing / bad if one wants to walk around on stage). But overall a very good bang for the buck.

Great speakers

These are great speakers for discos or for vocals.

They are well made, relatively light weight (although not so light you question the quality) and have good strong grills on the front.

I run a large PA rig with some high end active speakers running and yet for small parties and rehearsals with my own band this is still the thing I pick up 9 times out of 10.

It is plenty loud enough for a vocal to run through and has been used for countless acoustic sets where set up time and room is limited.

It also works great for kids parties and other small social events where you want some music or volume for speaking but don't want to have to set up a full PA rig.

I find myself lending this out just as much as I use it as for sheer ease of use there is not much that comes close when you are running a 1 mic/1 source set up.

Excellent stage monitor

In the beginning our band tried to play on some small gigs with a mixer and 2 speakerboxes. We realised quite quickly that we didn't hear our own voices, so we decided to buy the box MA120 MKII monitor. This is a right stage box, has a sturdy design. professional quality, pole mount and a top grip. You can use it not only as monitor, but also as normal loudspeaker. It is a great advantage that all necessary plug connectors, the 3-band EQ, the power button and the volume controls are on the front side. The sound is excellent, perfect balanced, clear, powerful and it has a great bass. The transport is comfortable and easy regarding its low weight and awesome grip! I think it is the best monitor in the price category under 130 €. Our choice was absolutely right, we have much more fun while singing and playing than before.

the box ma 120 is ok , i had one of these i found it a bit under powered at 100 watt the horn driver was cheap and clarity not the best ,it would be fine for beginners but not for pro work
