Behringer C-2 Stereoset Reviews
Good start but dissapointing at the end
I work with a big choir (80 girls) doing video and simple sound recordings from concerts. We have 4 Audio Technica P170 which work great for our needs. I decided I wanted to experiment with microphone setups, so I got a pair of these to play around, since they are inexpensive. The first pair was actually OK, sounded better than I expected and the build quality seemed great for the price. So I decided to order 3 more pairs, to play around some more. Long story short: half of the microphones I got had some sort of issue: faulty connection, big difference in sound output, bad quality sound, etc. I returned the first faulty pair, got a replacement which had issues too.
Would not recommend.
Price quality ratio is unbeatable. Pay attention only to fact that it will need phantom power in order to work.
Do exactly what they are supposed to
As a musician I have used all sorts over the years from the best to the worst. What I can sy about these Behringer mics is that they are not expensive, but the sound quality is more than adequate for the vast majority of us. Yes they may not have quite the rfinement of some of the big money big names - but if you put them sude by side in a blind test I would suggest 999 out of a 1000 people would not nknow the differentce or which one is the up-market model.
Downside -yes the components are not the most robust.
Upside -at this price do I really care if I drop it/bang it/break it/fry it? Absolutely not!
As local gigging musicians or home studio users (or even any studio users) do yourselves a favour and stop looking for and waxing lyrical about 'big brands' that frankly don't sound any better than these to most people.
Amazing
Bought these during lockdown as drum overheads, so now about 2 years old. In my shed its survived 2x cold winters and 2x warmish summers (in England, so you might not agree with the definition of warm and cold :)). Still going strong and I've used them live with good results.
Amazing Value!
Cannot beat for the price! Used to mic up two congas and do the job perfectly - no complaints at all.
Great mics for the price.
These obviously aren't as good as nt5s but for the price you can't go wrong. Very decent sound for a fraction of the price of nt5s
Outstanding for the price
So I teach in a school, and we have a variety of mics in the recording studio. Being that these mics were relatively budget-friendly, they stayed on the shelf as more expensive mics were available. I noticed one of our students was always using them and raving about them, so rather than just dismiss it we set up a blind test of several mics on acoustic guitar, including large diaphragm condensers and an M201 which costs nearly ten times as much per mic.
You honestly wouldn't believe that the C2 stood up against an M201 on acoustic guitar. I know, I wouldn't have believed it either. But having looked at this with the student, I ordered about three more pairs to put into stock elsewhere.
Astonishing for the price!
These microphones sound great, and when you discover the price they sound even better! :D
One mic in the pair came defective
Both microphones in the set worked well in the beginning. Then I put them back into the box and only used them again a few months later. It appeared by then that one of the microphones produced a noticeable noise like there was a sand constantly moving inside the capsule. I switched the capsules and confirmed that the problem was indeed inside the capsule. I was able to make the noise disappear by giving the capsule a light kick with my nail, and the microphone worked fine for that day, but the problem reappeared a few days later. I "fixed" it again by kicking the capsule. I don't know for how long this kind of "fix" is going to work, and I don't like having this unreliable stuff as part of my setup.
Great cheap mics !
This is by far the best workhorse price/performance mic build today.
This is my 4th pair, my first one is 15 years old and still working!
They seem Pretty decent.
I used these a couple times on acoustic guitar, and an acoustic recorded electric. They seem to give out a very real sound, like what my ears pick up. Some of the tone is a bit sharper sounding, but I think that's what you want so it comes through a mix.
Nice!
Nice cheap stereo set. For the money you pay for it, there is only one option- to give it 5 stars
Good, not great
Got these to use as overhead mics for my drum kit. They sound quite tinny and harsh to my ears and were not really what I was looking for. On the other hand, they will record an acoustic guitar very well. You get a nice case with everything you need to put them on your mic stands. Nice to be able to roll off the low end with a switch on the mic. Overall not impressed, but not disappointed. For the price I am happy with this product!

I believe luck comes with purchases.I have silver xlr cable it’s a good blend. For the price the output is okay.it did it come with windscreen ,shield as highlighted in the soecs
Cheap but gold
Cheap stereo set, but the sound is not cheap.
Good mics for drum overs
I'm extremely happy with those mics as overs for drums and the time cut switch they have works great , also they come with a very nice packaging
Excellent quality
For such a low price these condenser mics are amazing. I can’t tell the difference between these and my “higher quality” Rode mics. Superb for recording instruments and vocals alike, even micing guitar amps. These mics are a no brainer.
Good price
It's cheap, and the sound is good for general use.
Great!
I use these for recording pretty much everything, from acoustic guitars to vocals and and all sorts of different sounds needed to be recorded. They just work for my use case.
The sound is very clear and even.
I like that they are small and really portable. The included plastic case makes transporting easy, but sometimes if I only need one, I can just put it in a small compartment in my backpack.
I've used them now for well over a year and for me there are no cons. I'm really happy with them.
Amazing sound quality for a ridiculous low price.
Can’t believe how it is possible to make a microphone in this pricerange with such great sound quality.
Have been using them for stereorecordings of acoustic guitars with great results.
I guess they would work as good used as overheads for drums.
