Behringer C-2 Stereoset Reviews
Most worth value microphone!
I had used this microphone for several recordings and it sounds more than the price. I will buy more in the future!
Usual great value from Behringer
Use:
I use these for recording acoustic guitar in a semi-pro studio
Pros:
Stupidly good value for a stereo pair of mics
Decent solid construction
Low cut and gain reduction switch
Comes with box and twin mic holder - very useful, especially for X/Y configs when recording acoustic guitar
Cons:
Only con is having the low cut and gain reduction switches on the same slider. Limits the functions to flat, low cut, low cut + reduction, but does not allow for reduction with no frequency attenuation. Minor point, I know, but some may find this a limiting factor in certain applications.
I would definitely recommend this set to people, and have been doing so since I bought it a few months ago.
Very adequate actaully
For this price, nothing more than perfect. The sound is great when recording. Just go ahead and try them, you'll see
What can I say they just work!
Needed small condenser mic for acoustic guitar recording. Hd a look around but needed a budget option as cash was scarce. Settled on the little Behringers and they didn't disappoint. Capture and present a true sound of the instrument perfectly.
It's not Neumann KM184's but then at this price point you don't expect them to be. If you find you need a budget option look no further. Can't fault them, just perfect.
They're good
for the price they're good, they work
come with alot of things in the box, case is nice
one started making a low frequency buzz so i threw it at a wall and its fine now
9 Years On
After 9 years of using these, they are still working perfectly, sound was great for the price back then, they essentially half the price now, and 100% worth it. Of course, they're not the best, but for price, you get incredible value, nice travel case with them, secure fitting for mic stand, can certainly take a few bumps and drops and work fine.
No complaints here.
Remarkable
I've been experimenting with them as overheads on drums, under the snare and for tuned hand percussion and kalimba.
As you have probably noticed, these microphones are absurdly cheap. I got them just to see what they were like. Compared to an AKG C414 they are not as full down below 100Hz and have an enhanced brightness up top. That being said they work fine as overheads. That extra brightness can be softened with a little eq.
I haven't got a pair of Neumans to to a direct comparison but then again I've got £969 more in the bank than if I had !!!
I have spent an absurd amount on some specialist mics in the past. It's not always been money will spent. These are great to get started and learning how to mic things up.
For the price, ridiculous
Amazing for the price, u can record almost anything with it i personally recommend this to any home recorder!!!!
Amazing value for the price
Unbeatable for the price
I've only had a few brief try outs of these but the work really well and did a fine job of recording acoustic guitar with one by the soundhole and one further away. Nicely presented in a good box with accessories.
Very good
I would highly recommend these microphones for recording overhead signals or acoustic guitars.
I was very impressed. Much bang for little money.
So far, so very good.
I’m using these for both recording and playing live. I have a very old Martin Sigma that sounds great acousticly but doesn’t plug in well. These offer the truest amplified sound I’ve achieved and record just as well. Ive even started using them with my Ovation as I liketo combine the sound with the line in. After a month of use, they perform as new. Great value. I assume that the expensive ones are slightly better, but if you use less expensive sound equipment and recording systems as I do, then I doubt you can tell the difference.... neither can 99.9% of the population! As ever, you need to be aware of positioning to avoid feedback, but the 10db cut does help. I thought I was just risking 40 euros to give them a try but the are one of the best purchases I’ve made so far.
great mic set
functions great and love the pad and the high pass on the mic
this is a must get stereo mic set
pro: brilliant
Con: nothing
Great Product
Great microphones - only reason 4 not 5 stars is because they lack a bit of 'oomph' in the lower register. I've been using them to track trumpets sounding pretty solid with some decent EQ processing. These microphones excelled best as a pair in ORTF formation as overheads on the kit. I'm looking forward to trying them out with acoustic guitar too as I've heard they work well in this context.
Amazing quality small diaphragm condensers for the buck!
I was kind of puzzled when my colleague told me how much he payed for this pair. I had to get them, if nothing, to boost my mic library. However, these guys are perfect for stereo recordings of solo instruments in various techniques. Work decent as overheads, too.
I cannot stress enough the quality for the buck ratio of this microphone.
Good for money
Used for stereo field recording of sounds of nature. Compared to other mics they perhaps lack a little bit of clarity in high-frequency range. Easy and sturdy for everyday use, and they come in plastic casing, so that's a big plus. Added padding switches are a nice feature. They come as a pair - so you'll get a excellent value for the money.
Nice inexpensive stereo set with stereo bracket
Noise floor is a tad high (just like the specs say), and the spacer bracket provided is quite nice. With low cut filter or -10dB pad - if you need the latter, the noise floor probably won't be a problem. Ridiculously cheap and nice flat response.
Good for what they are.
If you accept these are budget mics, they are cool. I use mine as a not worried about overhead set when club gigging, and they do the job perfectly. Probably not the best as a high level studio mic, but that's missing the point. Great as my go to mics for quick gigging without worries.
A good buy for buck
Must say, that the mics surprised me a bit. For this price, they do a decent job, but nothing more than that.
Great affordable pair of overheads
I got these mics to closemic ride and hi hat, to have more possibilities in tweaking the sound on post. They work really well and I'm particularly satisfied with the way the hi hat sounds. Wind screen also came useful for the ride cymbal. Same goes for high pass filter.
I always say if you don't have a great room for drum tracking, then you don't need expensive mics and this set of Behringers works perfect in my small drum studio.
