very good at their price.

Only praise, maximum score! It's not just that they are exceptional at their price. But they are simply very good headphones.

Positive - very comfortable on the head, the sound is very good (excellent bass, good treble, quite linear in the band, excellent resolution, good soundstage and excellent dynamics), they are not difficult to amplify. The price is too good!

Negative - does not exist!

A versatile pair of headphones

I use this mainly for gaming and do music production on the side.

I decided to get these since I had a cheaper pair of very good sound headphones that were not comfortable at all.

These ones, on the comfort are exceptionally good. I use them, sometimes, up to 16/18 hours in a single day with barely any strain (though, to be fair, you obviously start getting uncomfortable after that many hours). But the key point is, I noticed that my headaches reduced significantly since buying these headphones.

Sound quality wise they are amazing. Sounds are clear and distinct, with a good and wide soundstage due to their open nature. This is good for spatial awareness in music and gaming as well. One downside of this is, when doing home office in calls / recording voice, you can get quite a bit of noise bleed into the microphone, which is something to be aware of.

This is then, very suitable to use in quieter environments but not so much on the opposite since you will hear everything outside of your computer and they will hear what you're hearing as well.

One remark that I have are the pads, which are getting in the flatter side after roughly six months of use. For this reason, I intend to buy new pads and wash these ones properly, to see if they regain their fluffiness. Though, to be fair, please don't forget about the long usages that I have with these guys.

Thoroughly impressed.

Perfect

The headphones are amazing. Very clear, open and transparent sound. Perfect for mixing and mastering. DON't buy them if you want to record though!

Great headphones for mixing

Very clear and balanced sound, comfortable to use for hours.

I bought it to use it in my home studio for producing music, but I like it so much that I also use for listening to music and watching movies. Sounds perfect to me.

Only slight drawback for me

Only drawback is they grip a bit tight, they have softened as I've stretched them, but I'd still like them a little looser fitting. Not gamechanging but might be for you if you're wearing them for hours on end.

Brilliant sound quality and definition for the money.

Great-sounding headphones

In short - I've used them every day for 4 years and love them.

I use them as my main pair of headphones in my home/project studio, mostly working on sound design and music for video games, amongst other things. I output them through the headphone amp on my old Mbox2. I also use them for analytical listening all the time, playing games and watching movies through them.

First of all, I love the way they sound. Very clear, good, deep lows and defined highs, no issues there as far as I'm concerned. Also, I have them on all day without any comfort issues what so ever. Build quality is also superb, as you would expect from a BD pair of headphones.

It might seem obvious, but it's still worth mentioning: have in mind that they are open-back so you still need a quiet, treated room in order to hear fine, quiet details, no noise separation in that regard.

Pros: Great sound all-around, very comfortable, superb build quality. Both 3.5mm and 6.3mm jacks (3.5mm with a screw-on 6.3mm adapter).

Cons: It's not really a con, but bear in mind that you need a quiet space to get the most out of them. Also, the foam pads will last you around 3-4 years of constant use, after which you might consider replacing them.

THE Pair of Headphones for Mixing!

I've had them for over a year now and they are amazing!

They have a really nice stereo image and a solid flat crisp sound, so you can know for sure what you are mixing.

Also they are pretty confortable for long hours of work, you almost won't feel them.

German Headphones

These were my entry to audiophile headphones. They are now with me for the last 7 years and they still hold up with pad changes.

The only downside is that i cannot wear them for long times >3h because my ears touch the driver.

Sound is really nice, those headphones stay for "focused listening" and as a reference for my mmx 300. The bass is not emphasized but has one of the best seperations in the lower frequency space, better than my closed backs.

Excellent for it's price point.

Note: I am a newbie to the headphone community, so this purchase was my first actual headphones that don't sound crap.

I was in the market for new headphones since I wanted to move away from the "gaming" headphones due to the horrible sound quality and marketing gimmick like RGB which is sure nice for aesthetics but the price mark up doesn't justify it at all.

Anyways these headphones are surprisingly easy to drive. Currently not using an amp and they sound loud at 100% volume although I plan to get an amp in the future.

I mostly use these headphones for serious music listening and gaming. I haven't fully tested how this headphone performs during gaming sessions but wow it performs amazing while listening to music, you can hear the instrument separation and the clarity is amazing for it's price.

Pros for me:

- Really comfortable

- Amazing sound

- Easy to drive without an amp despite it being 250 ohms (YMMV but since I have a high-end motherboard it can apparently "drive up to 1000 ohms")

- Open back design. I was originally going to buy the DT 770 Pros but I saw that the 990 and 770 are priced the same so I wanted to check out how open back headphones perform.

- Quality. Headphone is built to last.

Cons for me:

- Cable isn't detachable. Not really an issue honestly but it would be nice to have custom cables to fit your setup.

- Bad for my wallet. Buying this headphone will lead me to buy another one (currently looking at the DT 1990 now).

The DT-990 Pro is the best pair of headphones i have ever used!!

I do have to say that DT-990 Pro is clearly worth investing for, the sound is really smooth, the bass is loud and clear depending on what you are listening to. I could say these are great for music production or gaming if you are into gaming. I have been using these for both music production and gaming, so it's clear to say sound is just superior and it feels great.

The comfort on DT-990 Pro is extrememly comfortable, you can wear these for hours no matter how long you are willing to use them for during the day, the pads really give that softness to your head.

The quality of DT-990 Pro is really durable, I would say it can last a really long time, more over 3 years at least.

The Pros of DT-990 Pro is that it's comfortable to wear, great durability, sound quality is superior than most of the headphones i have used and it is open back headphones so i can also hear what is around me.

The Cons are that it does not have a detachable cable from the headphones if you want to replace it, so it's just stuck on to it. Be cautious to whereabouts you put these headphones near anything sharp since there is a short cable that connect from speaker to speaker, if that is cut it will not work anymore.

Overall i love these headphones, I could take them anywhere I can so I could listen to music loud and clear. In my opinion I think it's a great investment for DT-990 Pro if you are willing to buy a great pair of budget headphones.

Absolutely in love

I bought these only cause I used to only have closed-back ones, which were often used for part of the mixing process and thought it be worth a try to test open-back and it's night and day.

I expected these to be far more annoying in terms of loudness leaving the headphones and being able to listen to outside noise, but it's actually not as exaggerated.

The experience is way less taxing on your ears. You can work for longer hours without feeling like your head might just explode.

One thing I do consider a "con" is that they can feel a bit tight on the head and I don't have such a large one, but this has happened to me with practically every headphone ever.

Classic

Got what I expected from these headphones! Lightness and comfort on the head + quite satisfactory sound. If you use the program to adjust the sound balance, you can get a smoother, even spectrum.

Good Reference

I have this Headphone and another BT DT-1990pro.

Both are brilliant and I use them for mix, record (not vocal).

They have brilliant frequency response and are very good fit.

They are not heavy and can be used instead of monitors in so many conditions and cases. They are accurate and can be used as reference in most scenarios. they cover a vast variation of generes.

The comfort is 10/10, I highly recommend this product.

best headphone i ve listened to

i had audio technica and akg and some other famous brands and i ve been mixing for 5 years on headphones and monitors

and i am sure i will use those for a long long time it seems just like using monitors the bass and the low mid are a bit lower but this make it more real like near to the monitors exprience when mixing and with sonorworks you can get it fixed but i like the original frequncy range because its so comfortable to do the job

Amazing

I have a home "studio" in the living room therefore my room isnt suited for serious mixing or mastering work and I went with this headphones for serious checks and detailed sound design. Well, they are amazing. I dont have any experience with proper headphones as these are my first but the clarity of sound and the stereo image I get with them are simply amazing. It feels like the sound is coming from all around me and behind me...great stuff really. I can already see the difference in my production sound wise. The low end is also nice and clear. I would only mention, since I read before buying that people said they can work for hours and hours with them, I can't. After 1,max 2h they feel a bit heavy on my ears and head. But in the end I take that as a reminder to make breaks...

I strongly recommend to anyone that cant afford to blast their speakers or doesnt have the budget for proper speakers. I would compare this to Adams speakers for clarity for sure. Anything below that the headphones can top it.

Simply great if you know the sound signature

I changed my 770 80ohm to these and the 990's sound clearer and overall better. I recommend.

my recommendation for best overall headphones

these headphones are regarded as the best among many sectors like audio mixing, music listening and instrument player as they are "balanced", but in my listening it helps everywhere especially in games I can tell the difference, they are very comfortable to use for long hours, and the open-back design make your ears breathe and i don't get the "pressurized ear-headache", but in order to get the full sound potential of your headphones, you need a powerful amp, don't cheap out it will make the difference.

the build seems sturdy that it will live long, the earpads are "cold" compared to other fabric pads. i am very glad i picked this.
