Elixir Nanoweb Light Reviews
finally strings that do not rust and stay clear!
At the beginning I was a little concerned about the price, and I did not know what to expect.... the usual broken promise?
Not this time! I'm really surprised: finally strings that do not rust and with a clear sound after 2 months playing! I could not believe it!
I've always used regular Ernie Ball, a very good compromise for price and reliability, but after trying this one I'm switching to Elixir Nanoweb for all my electric guitars.
After 2 hours concert just clean them with a dry cloth and they are like new. And their sound is always ok, with glassy highs.
Everybody go for them!
Good and nice, but not for everyone.
Elixirs are quite peculiar strings.
On the one hand, we get an advertised long lifespan of strings - their tone deteriorates much longer than such of conventional strings (but is is necessary to say, that tone does degrades eventually, because it's not only about corrosion, but also about the flattening of strings' winding over frets).
On the other hand, Elixirs never have that incredible brilliance which fresh conventional strings provide. Also, we get that funny feel of coated strings, which can be a bit confusing.
And there is one more peculiarity about these strings. They seem to have a little more tension while having the same gauge as conventional non-coated strings. And this makes them sort of unpredictable for me, so I can't point out exactly, do I love or hate them.
Installed these strings almost a week ago
First i must admit these strings were installed to replace extremely old ones on a used guitar that i purchased. So it was a huge step up from those.
These are the first strings i purchase from Elixir, and i music admit they look a lot better than i expected. Really nice steel shine finish to them. They sound awesome, slightly metallic sound but it's not that noticeable. It says they'll last quite some time, but i cannot vouch for that yet as their still fairly new. Easy to install (depending on your guitar of course), also they fall into tune very easily. i've purchased strings before that needed a few tuning sessions until they 'warmed up'. These guys fell into tune right after installation and have not really changed (of course depends on your playing style as well), i tend to play a little soft with occasional roughing on them heavy riffs.
Pros:
- Look/feel great
- Stick to tune almost instantly
- Smooth upon sliding to notes
Cons:
- None so far.
Would recommend these to anyone looking for good new strings at an affordable price.
They last forever
Best strings for durability , i have tried similar strings from other companies which claim to last 4 or 5 times more than normal, however elixir are the ones that preserve their smothness and bright tone
Great String!
I've purchased these before, and will continue to in the future.
Occasionally I'll try other strings, but always seem to swap them for these Elixir Nanoweb strings.
They feel great, sound great, and outlast most other stings.
Best strings ever.... great feel..long last...and great Tone!! What else do you need ? =)
Elixir
Just tested this strings on my les paul. The are very nice sounding strings and the bend really well. I was palying ernie balls 46-10 but these are much better for me. the tone is just better and the never seem to maintain any rust or skin on them.
Rust Free
Very durable guitar strings. They never rust and take time to wear off. The sound is pretty good too.
My only choice of strings.
Been using Elixirs for years. Top!
Wow - amazing strings!
I absolutely love these strings! I can't believe how long they last and the tone is great!
In my opinion these are excellent value for money!
I use these strings all the time now and have even converted some of my friends, I usually get very sweaty while gigging and these strings stand up to the test and last a long time!
I would recommenced these strings to anyone!
Great sound and resistence
Elixir Nanoweb Light are the best string?s that I have used. The feeling it?s great, and durability is far superior to most other brands that I've experienced.
They have a good consistency and is very difficult to me break a string.
Maybe the sound was not so bright as other strings, but for those not looking for it, they are perfect!
The best strings I've tried.
These really are the best strings in my humble opinion. Believe all the hype. They really do last a lot longer than any other strings I've tried since I started playing in 1982. They sound good, feel good and cut out a fair bit of finger squeak.
You will never go back!
Besides the great tone they are offering the strings are also
so sleek that make sliding and generally moving up and down the fretboard so much easier. Let alone the fact that
they last much longer than most regular strings which also
makes them cost efficient since you don't have to change
within the 1st month.
Everlasting strings
Elixir Nanoweb are definitely the most reliable and longlasting electric guitar strings. They are the only strings which keep looking and sounding the same even after three months of use.
They are more expensive than others, but definitely worth the price.
Solid strings
Reliable and good life span.
Difficult (for me) to tell the intricacies of the improved sound as much as if obvious with the acoustic strings but they certainly stay brighter for longer.
Durable. Smooth. Non-corrosive.
I have tried MANY guitar strings over the past few years and I ALWAYS end up back to the Elixir Nanoweb strings.
Not only does it save me money in the long run due to its durability, it has a nice "punchy" attack to it which I really like.
But the main selling point for me is the fact that it doesn't corrode with my HIGHLY acidic sweat.
I sweat a lot and it's very corrosive on the strings. Any uncoated strings will completely lose it's original lustre in just 2 hours of playing and it makes it harder to play with lots of friction and string noise. Other coated strings only last a bit longer than that.
Elixirs, however, are perfect for me as it lasts much longer and has a nice smooth feel.
PROS:
1) Lasts much longer than ordinary strings
2) Smooth feel
3) No string noise
4) Nice Mid-range response
5) No dirt accumulated at the bottom of the strings
CONS:
1) Tone is a bit lost with coating
2) The smooth feel could also be a con as not everyone likes it, so you have to try it out yourself.
3) I have yet to personally experience it but some people say that the G string snaps very easily.
4) Much more expensive than regular strings
These strings may be expensive but it saves you money in the long run so don't be scared and turned off by the price!
If you have an acoustic guitar, take a look at the Acoustic strings from Elixirs as well!
A+
As a fulltime touring musician, I play over 300+ shows per year, 4 sets a night, 6 nights per week.
Elixir strings hold their tone and keep their playability so much longer than regular strings. The coating holds the tone and prohibits rust from affecting your sound. Longer lasting, smoother feeling, and an all round great string.
I will never tour with another brand.
Nice.
Elixir are my favourite strings. Sounds good. Last long.
There might be better sounding strings out there, but i gig a lot and have to maintain my guitars my self. With Elixir i can do 3-4 giggs before they die..
Best strings out there
They last quite a bit longer than your usual strings and also keep the good tones. I think i have one of these on my SG for over a year now and they are still good to play :)
Can't beat this
These are THE strings by which all others should be measured.
There simply are no other strings that last that long, while enhancing a guitar's tone.
I used to try other brands, and finally settled for Elixir.
I'm now using Elixirs for both my electric and acoustic guitars and intend to so for as long as I can play guitar.
