Didn't need to upgrade!

I purchased this expecting that I would upgrade it as soon as I got it. But out of the box it is really great! I bought a replacement nut, but I'm happy with the way it plays and the way it sounds. I expected to upgrade the nut, the string trees, the tuning keys, maybe the saddles. But I've decided at least for now, that it's plays great the way it arrived. The sound of the pickups is excellent too. I highly recommend the TE-52.

Tele, Go for it.

The finish looks very good, especially, the neck.

The guitar sounds is very good, but is very heavy to carry.

One thing I don't like is that the fret buzz on the 4th and 5th string on fret 2 to 5.

Has become my favorite guitar.

I bought this guitar because of the positive reviews and the price. I upgraded the nut with a graph tech nut. The saddles with brass saddles and the tuners with kluson staggered tuners. That's it I'm done. I love the neck. It is a bit chunkier then a fender neck, which I really like. The guitar is heavy but that's fine with me.

The guitar speaks to me, and it responds so we'll. It is now my go-to guitar.

Thank you. Harley Benton.

What a value!

Pros: Build quality, sound, action.

Cons: Heavy. A little too heavy for my liking.

Good guitar

Very beautiful guitar with nice sound. Fret edges was too sharp, but I fixed that. There was a little fret buzz on third string but after good set up everything's OK now. My recommendation is QC improvement.

Excelent all around Tele!!!

Having a fender player stratocaster all i have to say is that the guitar feels the same in quality. Only the tuners are worse but they do their job just great. Excellent Decision and Bargain all around.

Too heavy to use

If the weight was clearly stated (10.5 lbs) I would not have purchased this guitar. I am pleased with everything else about it.

Excellent price/quality!

Bought this after seeing several reviews on Youtube an I never owned a Tele before. I have to say I absolutely love it! A lot of guitar for the price... Limited features, but hey, it's a Tele, it's supposed to be basic! Great sound, the Roswell pickups really stand out. I upgraded the saddles and the nut, but I'm leaving the rest as it is. Great guitar!

Great Value

Very good guitar for the price. Build quality was very good, the strings were not the best but once you do a fret polish and add new strings the guitar plays perfectly. Unbeatable for the price, a little setup work and its very good.

Best Low cost tele

I am totally happy with this purchase

This is the best lower costing telecaster ive ever played...amazing cost to quality product with nothing comparable in this price range

some minor set up issues and I may replace the tuners down the road but no major complaints at all

My 4th HB

Amateur player Greece,

My 4th HB and the heaviest, 4,5 kg.

Body: 4 chunks of wood, matched grain, perfect finish!

Neck: Very fine finish, looks great feels great, minor fret problems, skunk stripe high up towards the head not totally leveled with the neck

Body neck joint: some little tiny gap, will be resolved later.

Nut: Plastic. Does the job, well cut.

Tuners: very nice!

Pick ups: Fine sounding, needed some height adjustment.

Knobs: very nice, responsive.

3 way switch: positive feeling, black plastic cover looks a little cheap.

Bridge: very nice! possibility for a top string load!

Saddles: A bit too wide they touch each other and don't move freely for intonation, just a little sanding resolved the problem.

Tune ability: came almost tuned, holds tuning very well.

Intonation: came almost intonated, very easy intonated after sanding the saddles.

Quality: minor quality problems, pick guard slot for neck pick up a little too wide cut. Machine oil marks to the neck, body neck joint, not so tight.

Over all: great guitar, plays and feels great, sustains for ever, great typical tele sounds, versatile.

A splendid guitar looks nice, feels nice, plays and sounds perfect.

Already ordered my fifth guitar.

Proper Tele

Feels, sounds and plays like an instrument several times its cost. Real vintage vibe. Holds tune really well. Only downside is its weight... it's really heavy! ...heavier than an SC550 I bought a while back. The weight probably adds to the sustain which is remarkable for a T type. A solid guitar in every sense of the word!

This is an amazing guitar. The neck pickup sounds the best, creamy and full. The bridge is super bright, cuts right through any mix, some might find it too shrill, but you can roll off the tone too. Anyway, it really fits my needs in a rock band with a wide dynamic range with two guitars.

I bought it to relic it, and have successfully done so. I also shielded the cavities with copper tape, and the hum, which you inevitably get with single coils, is really minimal now.

The neck is beafy, I love it. Plays really easily. My bandmates prefer it over my Fender Jazzmaster (sad face 'cause that was my favorite until I got this)!!

Solid Vintage Feel

I always said to myself that the Tele was the original guitar that started it all... owning a true genuine one was always going to be an expensive endeavour. The HB te52 allowed me to get a feel for that without the risk involved of would or wouldn't I like it.

I have to be honest... at first I wasn't in love with the guitar... it came set up well but i changed the strings first day.. i cleared up the frets, they were a little gritty when bending and i lowered the action with a slight twist of the trust rod... Much Better!!! However i was still not 'connecting' with my new instrument... you know that feeling folks.

Fast forward to today almost 10 months after i first held the hefty te52 in my hands, and the American ash body is beautiful to behold, i have become to appreciate the simplicity of the telecaster design. You see i bought it for a reason and i believe that the te52 achieved its goal and so much more. I would prefer to mod this particular guitar in the future rather than going all out on an original down the line. Improvements could be made to almost every aspect of the guitar save for the body. Its a perfect modding platform but it absolutely stands up out of the box as is.

A great Guitar. Well done Harley Benton.

(ps. I'm still a Strat guy but slowly slowly!! ;)

Unbelievable value

Tuners are eh, Fret needed polishing and crowning to make this worth 3x the cost. Pickups are surprisingly accurate it's American counterpart.
