Worth the money

Unfortunately I'm not able to tune a guitar without such helpful tools like the Benton MT 100.

This was my first tuner but I didn't use it very long. Don't get me wrong, it does absolutly what it was made for, and you don't make a mistake if you buy it.

In my case, I soon found a tuner who was faster and more easy to use. So I made someone else happy with this MT100.

Very useful but...

This little device is very useful. Once calibrated, it is very accurate. It does need a quiet room to work perfectly: I found that if I used it in a pub I had to remove it from the head of the guitar and hold it next to the strings - tricky enough since most of us have only 2 hands...

Once the battery provided ran down I bought the same type of battery and fitted it. There must be some problem with the voltage as the lights do not remain steady, but vary from flat to sharp wildly. In essence, the tuner is no longer reliable.

To sum up, then: the tuner is good value for the price, but tricky to use in a noisy environment. Be careful with the battery when replacing the original, as slight voltage fluctuations may render the tuner unreliable.

I liked the predecessor better

It does a good and reliable job - as long as it is vibration mode. The built in metronome is a nice feature, but its buttons are exactly where I would like to handle the tuning function.

The predecessor didn´t have the metronome and all in all I miss the better handling.

very functional

Notice: I play at home most of the time and I mainly use the tune funtion.

The first thing I do when I grab my guitar: I engage this small little helper.

I used to have a TC Electronics PolyTune but it just took away to much space on my pedal board and because I don't need a polyphonic function i removed it. On stage I prefer a big rack tuner.

You just clip it on the headstock of your guitar and you're all set.

+ the visibility of the display is great

+ the handling is easy

+ two modes (vibration,mic)

+ suitable for bass and guitar

+ it has a clip :-)

+ different tunings are possible

- the metronome is kind of annoying but useful for practice

Not sensitive enough

I used this extensively on my last tour after my Peterson Strobo Clip was lost. This works ok, but it lacks sensitivity, which means that you have to hit the same string over and over again before it finds the right note. Once it finds/hears the note, it works well. I think it should be used as a backup for a better tuning clip.

Multifunction tuner

Harley Benton MT100 clamp tuner has got an integrated metronome, built-in microphone and vibration sensor among others. 3 tuning modes (chromatic, guitar & bass, violin) help to save time and effort if you use multi-instruments. Changeable A-tuning helps a lot. - Better value/price relation than with the cheapest HB meter.

Harley Benton MT100

I'm mostly a guitarist but recently I bought a Ukulele and I needed to buy a tuner as may guitar and pedal board had tuners built in. This took me a while to figure out but once I got the hang of it I find it good for guitar and Ukulele.

Good

For the price its a good tuner. Love the metronome for practicing and tuner seems accurate. Nice bright led for viewing and controls are easy to use.

Excellent value

Some years ago I spent a fortune on a Korg clip-on tuner. This does the same job and more having a metronome. Yet it is a fraction of the price. Well made and operates well.

Could do better!

The MT100 promises a lot but fails to deliver. The display is a little overcrowded, and takes awhile to figure-out. The Tuner is not very responsive in either "vibration or MIC" mode. The Tone Generator is just annoying. The Metronome is the best part of this device, and once you become famillar with the relevant buttons it becomes a handy little practice tool. Overall it is too small to accommodate so many devices. Get rid of the Tone Generator, and make the Tuner more sensitive and the problem is solve!

Review of Harley Benton MT100

This tuner is better than the cheaper ones available and has a few extra features like the metronome which i have never used but its handy if I ever do need it. Clip this onto the top of your guitar and turn it on and tune away

No reason not to have one

Part of what kept me so long from playing guitar was the thought of tuning it. This has put that problem behind me. Small, and so little trouble, and (once you've read the manual) so easy to use, adaptable to any tuning you like and with a metronome. Really useful.

Multi Tuner

For the price, excellent, does what it says it should. Nice to have option of mic or vibration mode. Seems well made. Lots of options, which did make it a bit more difficult to work out how to turn on initially, but once that done, it was fine. Using on violin, guitar and cornet, and all ok. Nice brioght display.

MT100 Guitar Tuner

Not too impressed - When it was working it was fine. However the battery ran down very quickly. I soon discovered that i had to take the battery out, for some reason I think even when it was switched off it must have been draining the battery somehow. When I went to replace the battery the whole thing stopped working. I have now downloaded a free App on my mobile to do the job instead.
