Harley Benton MT100 Reviews
Harley Benton MT100
easy to use, clips on the end of your instrument, works well
Great value for money
Pros:
- Price
- Accurate in vibration mode (I've tested multiple times on guitars, bass and violin comparing with Boss TU3)
- Calibration changing (very useful for those you want to tune for example at 432Hz)
- Backlight display (visible in the dark)
- Lightweight
- Good clip
- Easy to use
- It comes with battery
Cons:
- Some troubles in lower frequences when using the mic sensor (I prefer though tuning my basses using the vibration sensor)
- Annoying metronome sound
Conclusion: a good clip-on tuner that won't cost you a lot. It saves you money for other useful equipement
Does the job
I bought a 12 string and would have spent more time tuning than playing! If anything for a 12 string perhaps too accurate! But easy to fix once in tune!
Good value for the money
With a built in metronome this tuner is very good value for your money.
Two in one tuner/ metronome
Very Handy that you can use as a tuner and metronome. Small that fits your instrument case or bag. User interface is quite a challenge but once used, you get your way around. For the price I will buy it.
A multifunctional thing, but not without a flaw
I use a tuner with classical, acoustic, ukulele guitars. advantages/disadvantages:
Disadvantages:
1. The screen flickers when switching modes (poor contact of the screen with the board, apparently);
2. The sound of the metronome is not so high-quality;
3. Sometimes there is not enough turning mechanism for an ideal location, but it is not critical.
Dignities:
1. Flexibility of settings;
2. Good sensitivity and accuracy;
3. Multi-functionality.
Considering its price, I can say that this is a good product that performs all its functions well, but the build quality and plastic leaves much to be desired. It is well suited for unpretentious home use and novice players.
more complicated than I need though am sure features are good value for money
Cool tuner
Too many functions for me in it)))) But it is good.
good tuner
Good tuner. The only thing I can complaint a little - very small sights on buttons, so with my old eyes it's hard to see
Good value for the money
It's not a bad tuner, a bit slow but definitely useable.
The backlit display is a very nice touch, you can use it in dark. You can also calibrate it (I consider this an essential function for every tuner since sometimes you need to play with other instruments which are not as easy to tune as a guitar) or use it as a tone generator which is a nice thing.
It has an LED, complete nonsense. A metronome function is a nice gimmick nowadays since the tone is unpleasant and you can't connect headphones to it. A mobile app would do the trick.
Does not work with a bass
I got this tuner as a secondary tuner to my KORG CA-1 tuner. My main goal was to use this with my bass, but alas, the thing does not pick low frequencies almost at all. Both in audio and vibration mode.
Otherwise, it has a very good amount of features. The build quality is fine, but the switch on the back and the buttons don't feel that nice. At time, this tuner feels like some cheap toy. I guess it was at least cheap.
Pros:
- Price
- Features
Cons:
- Has trouble picking up lower frequencies both in mic and vibration mode. Low E1 and B0 are not picked up at all. One has to use either harmonics or fretted notes.
- Feels cheap
- Annoying metronome beep, but one should not use this as a metronome to begin with...
This thing has been sitting in a drawer unused now for months. I would not recommend this tuner.
Not really recommended
Sticky buttons, sometimes you have to strum really loud so it can hear you
Very uncomfortable display
Batery worn out after a couple of months
Almost unusable in both mic and vib mode
Almost unusable. You need to really isolate each sound completely so that the tuner doesn't get confused and picks up random noise.
The metronome also has such a weird sound that is confusing. If you try to use it without the accent beat, each beat will be a sort of double sound...why?
I bought this in the interest of practicality...but to be honest, I'd rather take each time my pedal and cables and plug in, rather than handling this mess.
Best compact tuner
I love this product from the cool backlight colour to the simple to use features. A joy to use with the mundane tasks.
Super nice
It sticks quite well to the headstock and the metronome is a nice touch.
Still works many years later
It's stood the test of time, bought this many years ago but only reviewing now. Does everything you need it to but one might say a little outdated given the advent of smartphones. Viewing of the screen is hindered from certain angles but there's great freedom on the axil after you clip it on.
Good 4 that price
Really nice tuner in that price range
good quality easy use
good quality tuner, easy to use ans compact to take along
Might do the job
Has a lot of great features for the price, but the quality of the plastic is really bad (Mine broke in a month of use). But if all is all the tuner may not be able to tune anymore but the metronome works just fine so I cant say that it was a complete waste. I would say that if you are looking for a steady tuner that will last you long this is not for you, but if you are a beginner it might be somewhat useful if you take good care of it. As far as the tuning quality was I cant say I was disappointed.
Complex for such a simple device
I understand there are many functions on it, but let's face it, most of them are not used. It is not nice to have to navigate through seldom used functions for just on/tuning/off.
Many times the metronome starts ticking unexpectedly.
But it tunes your guitar, though.
