Harley Benton TE-70 Black Paisley Reviews
Yep
Better then expected love it
Unbelievable quality for the money
The guitar arrived quickly in perfect condition. It sound and plays wonderful. The sustain is incredible. The only thing I plan to do is polish the frets when I next change the strings.
Looks great but needs a bit of setup out of the box
According to the many review videos on youtube, I expected the guitar to be in more playable condition out of the box. Frets are rough and action was quite high(neck was straight as an arrow, but I expected to need a truss rod adjustment). Still an amazing value and I don't mind doing a little tweaking. Just be aware that these guitars MAY need some attention in order to be as good as possible(something you might need to pay for if you don't work on your own guitars). Though this guitar was not a "B" stock, it did come with a couple of minor finish flaws that probably should have made it a "B" stock with a modest discount. I plan on adding a middle pickup so that should be interesting.
Excellent guitar
I am a professional guitarist and I'm very impressed with this guitar. I will be gigging with it. I couldn't care less what's on the headstock, I gig with quality instruments. This sounds great, and plays great.
Pros - great fret work, just needed a light polish. Checked with a fret rocker and not a single fret was high. Great tele sound. Set up was good out of the box. Nut was correctly set (although I've replaced it with a tusq xl nut).
Cons none. I recently bought a guitar from another manufacturer 4x this price and it needed the nut filed, frets levelled and a new toggle switch. Which just goes to show with Harley Benton you DON'T get what you pay for. You get a lot more !
Good value is my initial thought.
I just received this guitar and have about 5 hours of playing on it. The finish was not perfect, but acceptable. The pickups came in a little hot, so I cranked them down a little. Much better. The action is a little high, but not worth messing with right now. The tuners are just so so. You have to crank them slightly sharp and they will flat a little when released. The neck feels great! The nut seems to be fair, but there is a slight buzz which probably indicates a little work on the nut is necessary. Or maybe just work on my finguring. I think i need to round the front corners a little since they are very sharply cut. Intonation was good. I was a little worried about the three saddle standard configuration, but I noticed that the holes are there to configure to six saddles if problems develop. The pickups have a reasonable sound. I can see why the telecaster is popular in Nashville. The three way switch, tone and volume controls are very nice. I have the feeling it will become my "go to" guitar instead of using my Les Paul standard pro. I play mostly classic rock and country and this guitar will work for both. I will know more of how I feel in about a month or so. I will repost if there are any changes.
I'm glad I got it. It was delivered to my doorstep while I was out. The tracking info says it is still in Miami and, not here at my Atlanta home. Of course it took five days to clear customs in Germany. That seems to be an excessive time to me.
Voor die prijs een super gitaar, goed van afwerking, verrassend mooi geluid.
great relation price-quality
first I bought for the stetic, cause this guitar is beautifull but the quality its not perfect but realy amazing considering the price.
5*
Tele
Great guitar but I have some problems with pickup switch (stop working after only few days) and bridge pickup easy take feedback when I play it on tube amp! So I change pickup and put DiMarzio Twang King on bridge and change Fender pickup selector and now I'm so happy with this guitar... for 155€ this is good guitar, with telecaster character! I have 19 guitars but enjoy every time when I play this one!
Good for the price
This is great build quality for the price. I prefer slim modern C necks so this model didn't work so nicely for me. I prefer slightly higher quality guitars than this but for the price it is decent quality and the pickups were pretty good as well giving classic telecaster tones.
Stop Nit Picking Guys
We All Know that Pickups, Strings Machine Heads Knobs ETC. Can be improved so Go And Spend 3 Grand Then. and there will be something you don't like on that one either. Trust me I know , That's the way Guitars are we are all different people with different Tastes in things. some people like low action others High, some people like a chunky neck, others don't, All im saying is for the money guys you cant beat it. If you have a few skills in setting a guitar up then theres no problem ive been playing guitar for 40 years I Bought this for Home use Only In My Studio and was very impressed. Straight out of the box the Action was very good, But I did tweak it a little as I like really Low Action. Id like to see a Smaller Neck some Day on these Guitars about a 40mm Nut with a Softer C Shape profile ( That's just my preference ) The Quality of the build of the guitar was Insanely Fantastic Overall for me Just Fantastic for the money
i feel the quality is better than the bullet squiers have in the same range of prices. I will defenetly order one more.
Great value for money
Love this guitar, the paisley finish may not suit everyone. The guitar played fairly well straight out of the box but need a little tweak to the truss rod, now it plays really well. Neck is smooth and action is low. Pups are good for the money and sounds pretty good. Punches above it’s weight in terms of value
Great Tele buy - Highly recommended
Overall it's exactly what you expect from a Tele guitar in terms of sound and feel.
Pros:
- Price
- Overall build quality
- Good playability, comfortable neck and nice setup out of the box.
- Good sound from build and these stock pickups.
- Efficient hardware (tuners, bridge).
- Good finish, paint job.
cons:
- Slightly not accurate fret work which i had to trim here and there for better and more accurate setup.
harley benton te-70.
very good guitar and well priced..back to black..ha.ha.
Solid little Guitar
I love the guitar. The neck is a tiny bit thicker than i was used to and the low E had a nasty buzz but a solid set up has made it imminently playable. I use it in Praise band every week unless we're doing an acoustic set. The fit and finish is pretty much perfect on the body and other than some rough frets, the neck isn't too shabby either. I'm a 35 year guitar player and can't imagine having access to guitars at this price point when I started learning in jr high school in the 80's.
Good guitar packaging Very poor lead to crack at neck body joint
Great guitar for the money, I wouldn't recommend due to shipping, being poor, only three little pieces of packaging paper.
Great tele
I've always wanted a T-type and saw great review for this on youtube.
It plays great right out of the box and looks beautiful. Not a blemish or a dink anywhere. Sound awesome on my little home setup, nice tele type sound. Really look forward to trying on a bigger rig and potentially gigging with it.
top value
great value for money, had this guitar for a while now and plays great, sounds really good and looks fantastic.
HB TE-70
I have had this guitar for a couple months and enjoy playing it. The fit and finish is beautiful, fretts are perfect, very comfortable guitar to play. This is my third Harley Benton guitar and they have all been great. Will look here first fir my next guitar.
Awesome value for the price
First of all the guitar looks stunning, the black paisley look might not appeal to everyone but I personally love it. The neck has a really nice gloss finish and is thicker than your standard telecaster neck, but as a guy with bigger hands I really don't mind it and I don't struggle playing it.
The sound resembles a classic telecaster, although it can get a bit too twangy on the bridge pickup. The guitar was playable out of the box but needed some fine tuning which I don't really mind. You can also use it as a practice guitar because it's really loud when not plugged in. Highly recommended product, nice value for the money.
