Harley Benton Valuestrings EL 9-42 Reviews
These are fine so long as you change them often
Ok strings if you change them often but they are prone to snapping, I do not normally break strings during performance but I do sometimes using these
Serious bang for the buck
I've always played 10s or 11s and didn't want to spend a lot of money to try 9s. Bought these and was surprised. They feel really good and sound nice. I'm not a 9s player, but for what they are you really can't complain.
I recommend them if you have a lot of guitars and buy strings in bulk or to restring a fairly cheap instrument.
Great quality
Worth the money, they tend to loose the sparkliness associated with new string very fast, but if you change them often as I do, they are great.
Meh
They're strings, they're ok.
Great to have around in case you need a back up set.
Awesome strings for the price
No more D'Addarios for me. These strings are a bit less supple than regular strings, but they are pretty good and stay clean, even with very acid fingers. They need very little stretching and stay bright a long time. I have yet to break a string with playing, even with hard floyd rose usage.
Out of the package the strings feel stiff like steel cable, but on the guitar they play pretty good. 009 strings have less fret noise because they are a bit tighter than regular 009 string. I love them. The perfect string sets for setting up guitars, as they are so cheap, you can throw them away after setup and install a fresh set.
I bought about 100 sets already I think. My go to strings for guitar!
Nothing wrong with these at all.
Sound bright and spanky just like any other name brand steel strings. No problems with breakages as long as your guitar is set up well.
String theory is knowledge
Great strings at the price. I like to buy 10 packs at a time so these work out great. I'm always doing mods on the guitars and changing the strings so this product makes my hobby affordable. Great sounding and long lasting. Highly recommended.
If you make often string changes, especially if you have a lot of guitars, look no further. These strings will save you money and their quality is very good.
Good value
For the price these are great. So far they are lasting just as well as premium brands and I've had no tuning or stability issues.
Harley Benton Valuestrings 009
Inexpensive Electric Guitar stings.
Recommended for those that burn through strings.
Can't go wrong at this price.
Cheap but works
They work well as a spare set of strings, but nothing fancy here.
Cheapest Strings Out There
These are by far the cheapest strings I've ever seen, and so far I've been very happy with the quality.Maybe not quite up to the tone and durability of more expensive brands, but close enough to make them hardly worth the 5-10x higher price for most applications.
UPDATE:
On both of the sets I bought I have now had one string break (high E on one and B on another). Neither of these had been used for very long when they broke, and in both cases I found that the string had unwound itself from the colored head, as opposed to snapping. From this experience, I would not recommend these strings.
Cheap strings that work
These are no-gimmick, no nonsense strings that last long enough to make them an economical purchase and sound just great.
Totally recommended.
I've been using a set of 9's on my Floyd Rose equipped guitar for around three weeks of somewhat heavy use.
Played Gilmour bends a lot with these over the B string and the "Are you gonna go my way" solo dozens of times already and there are no signs of string weak that I'm aware of, they are still perfectly elastic, no big pitch loss after all this abuse and feel pretty much like any other brand set.
EDIT: After more weeks using the first set I can say they are 100% as any others.
Thumbs up then!
Good value for money.
Good value strings for very cheap price. Sound is not as bright as the name brands, does not feel as good as the name brands, but that is to be expected for this price.
Pros: price, sounds okay.
Cons: Feel is not as nice as the name brands.
Really good inexpensive strings
These strings are great value. The sound is uncompromising when the strings are new and bright and you will pay a good deal more to find better quality.
If you buy in bulk they are even better value and are certainly
what you need if you have a few gigs in the week or weekend and at this price a new set for each gig is possible for that clear ringing sound that only new strings give. However, if you only change your strings once a month you can get 12 months supply for a very inexpensive price and very good quality for the price.
Reasonably good strings
The strings play really nice and bending noted is fairly easy
but they lack sustain
Very good strings
These are my go to strings for my Ibanez.
In the past i used to buy more expensive strings.
Ever since I tried these out never again i used different strings.
They may be cheap but they do as great a job as more expensive popular strings (even better than some).
They don't go muddy very fast, they stay fresh for quite a long time. That new string metallic "ringing" doesn't go away for surprisingly a long time (to me it's a huge plus, love that fresh metallic string sound). They also stay in tune very well.
The only downside to these strings is you need to stretch them for longer than some other strings to settle them in.
After they stretch, settle in, they become as great as their more expensive competitors.
you should be using these strings !
I have been using these strings for about 5 years now as well as some of my other professional guitarist friends. I have about 40 guitars in my studio so its great to restring at my leisure instead of considering the cost . Previously I paid 5 times as much for my strings to be in a "Pink Packet" but I can say that after using about 200 sets personally over the last few years and another 200 sets for all my guitar students that the only difference I notice is in my wallet ! I use 10s personally and 9s for my students and in about 400 sets i have only found 2 "dodgy" strings which may have been careless winding on my part. AS I change strings very often I can say that I don't think they are the brightest tone available but I found that most strings sound the same after a couple of days and its great to put new strings on for £1 before a gig !
Don't be put off by the price
Very good quality. In my opinion, just as good as some priced much higher.
