Harley Benton Valuestrings EL 9-42 Reviews
Excellent strings for the price
I bought these for a project guitar that I keep taking apart. They are great for the price, up with the good brands of uncoated stringss. They keep their tone and new feel really well. Their tone is fine for me, though some might prefer a brighter sound. I find the brighter strings tend to degrade more quickly. These are exceptionally good for uncoated strings, in my opinion.
Great strings for the price
Can't beat the value of these strings
Good Backup Strings
Pretty average cheap strings, good as a backup
decent strings
Decent strings for the money ,,, very handy to add a few spares to your next order, for just a euro or two they are great- Obviously wont be playing gigs with them but they are better than old strings
Can't expect much
What these strings offer for the price is okay. I wouldn't use them professionally and on expensive instruments.
I use them on some cheap guitars I have just so i could have fresh strings and not spend a lot of money.
wow
I genuinely cant tell the difference between these and the other main brands.
Ive knocked a star off because the packet isnt vacum sealed. and if i had to be critical the only thing i could think of is the ferrules arernt wrapped as tightly as a slinky would be.
Easy bendings and nice sound
1.50 euros for a set of string? Sign me in!
The sound isn't the most wonderful in the world , their lifespan is average and I really reccomend for regular practice purposes.
For how little they cost they make for the perfect intense practice routine and savage bendings without fear of breaking a much more expensive set.
The sound is clear (nothing special to be worth mentioning).
The first tuning is a little tricky ( high E and B tend to slip on the tuner) and they are a bit rough on the fingers for the first few minutes, but past that they are really worth and bend like butter.
Reasonable
You're not gonna get a good sound like with big brands for 5 euro but they are still getting job done. Quality wise is pretty much what should be expected. There shouldn't break as long as you're careful, especially with high e.
Bang for the buck!
Excellent quality considering how little these strings cost! Tone is fine and life is good.
Does the job.
I have the odd set of these as spares in the past, but I mainly use within education to restring students guitars. I have used them on a pro gig and they are fine, tuning, intonation wise, and the price is great.
If your on a budget and need strings then the HB range is for you.
cheap and they work
these are probably the cheapest strings you'll ever buy they do the job, break more of often and sound worst then the good ones but if you're on a very, very, very, very tight budget these are a good option
Five of six strings have been good
I put a set of these strings on my Cort Evl Z4 and all and all they've sounded great. However, the first string (high E-string, thinnest string) snapped when I was changing them from the last set. As I bought these strings as a test because of the price, I'm still satisfied with the overall quality of the strings. They have had a good ring to them the couple of months I've had them (together with an Ernie Ball E-1) and I think I'm going to buy a few sets to have as backup for a rainy day. But I will also buy a few E-1 strings from another brand..
Great for their price
Great value for money but nothing more.
A steal!
These are a cheap arternative to the big string companies, very nice!
Good strings
Really cheap but good quality, I'll definitely be buying more.
Harley Benton Valuestrings 009
great value change them as often as you like Always have great sound i use these strings on my strat telecaster and Epiphone les paul can,t fault them Always have a boxful at that price
I have to admit that I have very few reference point and experience with electric guitar strings, but these do sound and feel good to me, and at the price you definitely won't find better.
The only minor issue I have with them is that there is some sort of a mildly sticky coating on them that isn't exactly ideal, but it does seem to wear off rather quickly and as such isn't much of a problem, at least for me.
These are solid and extremely affordable strings that won't make you cry if you accidentally snap one, or cut one off at the wrong point like I managed to do once.
good strings except!
i have found the high 'e' strings to be very brittle/thin and tend to break easily--even when you first fit them.so i usually put daddario 09 for the high 'e' string....i guess you get what you pay for! ....but i have not had any trouble with eadgb ones, price is very good though, and they last quite a while before replacement,i wouldn't gig with them!
Nice product
just thought to give a try on them. thin string set, good for unexperienced hands (pain is less) and the sound is decent. Can't complain, especially for that price
Very melodic.
I like my strings melodic as hell. Volume around 7 and knob on full so i won't cut any of the higher frequencies. Love that sound, it is really nice.
This string make it happen.
Additionaly playing on WL-20BK You can play on them and still hear it very clearly without an amp. Makes life easier when You want to practice / excerise without any amp.
They keep the tune nicely, after 25 hours of playing and checking, only D string was a tiny bit off.
Starting from 09 they aren't that painfull to play and feel kinda soft. Was playing on .12 on my universal guitar and they were hard to bend... this is soft and fluffy in comparison.
Bang for the buck, cheap and nice. And You won't feel bad if You break one.
If You got more $ go and experiment.
