Harley Benton Valuestrings EL 11-52 Reviews
For the money...
Can't complain at the price point these strings are!
Better than you'd think
Great strings, at this price, totally worth it. Not broken one yet, maybe not as bright as more expensive brands, maybe.
Great Value for Anyone Looking to Save
These Harley Benton strings are the same gauge set as the ones I usually get from a big brand but are substantially less expensive. I go through strings fairly quickly because I always like having fresh sets on my guitars so it can get expensive, but with these Harley Benton strings I can save and I don't have to compromise on sound or quality.
Perfect strings for backup.
Can't really review bad a set of strings that cost 1.50 Euro so even though I wouldn't pick these as my main strings, I would definitely buy another couple just as a backup for gigs!!
Very suprised
9 gauge seemed to be very mediocre when 11 gauge is killer when it comes to value. I use it on Tele with 3 barrels. For very cheap strings have a good sound and quality. When it comes to intonation it's perfect. You can spend some few euro's more but what for if the difference will be so small.
Very good product.
Just absolute great value for money
Not the best strings in the world, but at these prices you can change strings every day. Absolute the greatest value for money possible. Would recommend.
Pretty good for 1.50
These strings are decent for the price. When i first opened them, some of them felt sticky and dirty, but i put some fret board oil on a cloth and wiped each string down. After that they felt smooth.
Not bad at all strings
These are inexpensive good strings to use and as gift to friends. I break strings frequently, the G and D, as I play Muddy Waters blues with a thumbpick. So it is nice to discover friendly strings like these HB. And now I'm arriving to the heavier ones, the .12, getting used to.
Use as backup
I bough't these strings primarily as backups to slip in my guitar bag. actually find myself using them on a few of my cheaper "Trunk" guitars. They don't sound bad at all.
In fact I dont even think you will notice much difference with a very cheap guitar. They are not the brightest sounding strings in my opinion but that's not what im after, so theyre fine for me!
I usually buy a bunch of them every time I order, just so I have some spare strings laying around at all times. Or to use on project builds for testing etc.
Great value to money ratio
Decent strings for very little
I use this strings for my travel guitar as the strings corrode very fast and I did not want to put an expensive set on a not so great sounding guitar.
The quality is very adequeate. The playability is not bad at all. It will not compare with the likes of Elixir or Ernie Ball but at this price point you should not expect to.
Will definitely buy again. Also great to have a cheap spare set just in case.
Not the best strings
...but very good for the prize. They sound quite good and full (because of the thickness), but don't last too long. But they are very cheap.
Bang for the buck
If you keep changing strings often like I do, this is perfect. The strings are not the best in the market but they have a good value for those that don't like old strings. Sound not bad at all.
Good strings
These strings are good, not just for the money good but actually good. They hold tune, last well and sound great. Can't ask for more from a set of strings.
Better Than Ernies?
Previous to buying these i had always used Ernie Balls , i was fooled by the long list of names on the back of the packet , i thought they were " special " just because some of my guitar heroes names appeared on the back of the packet , but i took a chance out of curiosity one day , bought these , night and day difference , i dont even know how to describe it but they just feel and sound better , they last longer too somehow , my ernie balls on my ESP broke before these did on my Dean , almost two weeks difference between them , these Harley Bentons lasted two weeks longer before breaking , TWO WEEKS , they are very bright and resonant, all i can say is id strongly recommend them and dont be fooled by the price , they are awesome
You get what you pay for
I decided to try these since I live in a place where guitar strings get easily corroded by the climate (humid and close to the sea) which implied i have to change them quite often. playing only few times per month I decided to buy ten sets to cover the entire season so I could change them for every gig without spending too much, if not almost any money!
Pros: the super low price doesn't make you worry about changing them very often. the 011 had a good tuning stability despite the climate. They resisted very well to my heavy picking without going out of tune or breaking (when new). Despite the price, they sound ok for most things!
Cons: don't expect to use them for more than one or two gigs in a row, they will either break or get rusty very quickly. Playability is not very good, I felt a lot of friction when moving my hands on the neck and they feel rough to the touch.
I would recommend this product to everyone the wants to change strings very very often without worrying about their wallet. For the price, definitely worth it!
great strings for such a cheap price too!
For the moderate player, these are good
I bought these because i needed a heavier set of strings for some lower tuning, the overtones die out in 2-3 months but at this price i bought more and changed them frequently, I personally like the feeling of fresh strings.
Cannot be faulted for the money
If you're on a tight budget and change your strings for every show then these are ideal. They are excellent for the price and they get the job done. They are definitely not Elixers by any means but I personally believe that tension in a string is more important than the longevity of the tone.
Excellent value for the buck
For this price, they're very good. Of course, you gen get better and longer lasting string from the big brands, but very few actually these string as far as bang for the buck goes. They do not last very long if you play regularly, but replacing them is very inexpensive. I say try them and judge for yourself, but it's very likely you won't be disappointed. FYI, I usually use NYXL's, so I'm used to very good strings.
Cheap but great sounding strings.
These feel like the same as the Ernie Ball slinkies I used for years but cost a lot less. Great for all styles of playing. I use this particular gauge for drop tunings and it holds tuning very well.
