Simply the best snare head

Nothing much to say. Just a classic that you can't go wrong with.

Exactly what I wanted!

I bought this new head for my snare drum since it was second hand and needed a new makeover. And I couldn't be any happier. The Remo ambassador coated head provides a great tone and attack to your playability. It has a nice coated white finish and looks great on your drums.

I highly recommend this product!

Great Ambassador!

Experienced drummers know that the Remo Ambassador set the standard for ALL drum heads. Yes, there are many quality and specialized heads out there, including from Remo, but Ambassadors are the most versatile, resonant, and for my money durable head available.I use coated on batter side and clear for resonant side. I play a combination of rock, jazz, blues, Americana, and this is it for me. Need less resonance? Apply a little tape of moongel. Otherwise, the tuning range is outstanding and the quality unbeatable (no pun intended).Using standard Ambassadors for the resonant tom heads feels entirely natural and we used a medium tuning, getting the best balance of sustain, tone and response.Evans beat Remo to market with a 12-mil head, the G-Plus, which we loved. We're equally impressed by the Ambassador. You get the industry standard single ply head - the all-time proven all-rounder - with extra strength, durability and warmth. We've always been Ambassador fans. They sound great when they're fresh and also worn in and starting to stretch, when you get more of the 'blam' factor.

Warm and friendly

I own a Sonor bop kit. I swapped out the factory skins wich are not that great. I put these remos on the snare and the floor tom. Thre improvement in sound was most dramatic on the floor tom. A nice warm bounce with good decay. The snare has a bit of a ring to it that I dont like, but I think I have to work on my tuning! It certainly feels nice to play. These skins look the part too. Much nicer than the transparent factory skins.

Perfect drum head for snares

I use this drum head for any snare. Wood or metall, it sounds great. Very durable also. I have never had any problems with this drum head. Remo in general is very high quality!

Classic

Classic snare drum head. For some reason, I'm more of a Evans guy (I think they're easier to tune?), but this is a great head as well.

well trusted snare drum head from Remo

this price for this head cannot be beaten, it is a top deal. for me this is the head of choice; i have been using these heads for over fifty years and is the best, i would recommend it.

Most recorded snare drum head in history.

Absolute quality.

The traditional sound, very open, lots of tone, so if you want a phat drum sound, it can be achieved, but with additional muffling.

Great starting point for your snare drum sound, if this is too open for you, then you can try some other heads that have some different extremities.

Great head, perfect.

Industry standard that just works perfect

These heads have a slightly more ring to them than the Powerstroke ones which I particularly like. It makes for a nice bright tight sound to the snare drum that cuts through a live mix with power. Highly recommended, very cheap too

Basic drum head

This Ambassador Coated drum head is vesrsatile basic head for all drums. Especially for snare it is ideal choice for person looking for a simple and general head. It is suitable for all kind of music genres. It is my default head choice for my drum setup. It is also suitable for toms as well.

Love them!

I first decided to try out these Remo Ambassador coated heads on all my drums, after finding out that the fantastic drummer Dave Weckl uses them.

I was not disappointed in the sound and quality they gave me.

I found the heads tuned up really easily, making it quick and simple for my drums to sound just how I wanted them to.

The coated ambassador typically gives a slightly warmer sound, sounding abit more controlled then the clear heads.

Using these heads has always left my drums sounding professional but also natural, which is important to me.

A bonus thing about the coated heads is that, in my opinion they look really cool! My drum kit never looks nicer then when I have just put a fresh batch of coated heads on.

Excellent

Have always loved the REMO ambassador coated range - i use this with a pearl free floating copper snare with a remo reso head also and the sound and attack are amazing. Ideally suited to rock stuff - but if tuned lower it covers most genres!

Loving it

Using this one on my 14" x 6,5" snare and just loving it. Sounds is super natural and pure. Just tune it for correct pitch and your snare will sound super cool. I guess it will sound super cool on the toms as well.

The head for snare drums

These heads are often rated as the most popular heads for snare drums on the market. There is good reason for this, the single ply head will bring out the crispness and crack of your snare drum and give you that "classic" snare sound you hear on countless classic rock albums.

The downside is due to constant use on your snare they do wear quite quickly and the white coat soon chips off in the stroke area. If you use big sticks or hit hard you'll also dent these quite easily. I've used these also on a 14" tom and found they do last longer due to less play.

Overall a great head for an open, lively snare sound. If, however, you'd prefer something longer lasting I'd recommend the Emperor X Coated Dot.

Simply the best

This is the best head for snare drum for any style. Sometimes I try something else but the end I always come back to it. I use it for my floor tom and it works perfect on it too. The most popular head and it's not just a cincidence.

Not as good as the Powerstroke 3 for my steel snare.

A great quality product but on my Mapex Steel Black Panther snare I just have too much ring using this head. I think my next purchase will be back to the Remo Powerstroke 3 that I had used recently. This may be a great head for the snare drum on drier wooden snare but it isn't right for me in this case.

Perfect for all tips of music

Perfect for very tips of music whit a good sound and easy to listen when is good about fine tuning, nice contact whit the drumstick making spread the sound around the room / concert. Not to loud.

The canonical snare head for lighter playing

This is the best snare drum batter head for an open, classic snare drum sound for any musical application. It also sounds great on toms. I use it as a reference head to check the "true" sound of a snare; only after this do I decide if the drum needs something more focused or darker-sounding. The sound and response are great with either sticks or brushes - especially with brushes. If I'm recording, this is definitely my default option for the snare and toms.

The only problem with the Coated Ambassador is that it doesn't withstand prolonged heavier playing. If you hit your drum hard and use big sticks, you'll dent this head pretty quickly. For a similar sound for heavier and live playing, I suggest either a Coated Ambassador X, Coated Emperor, or Coated C.S. head.

Remo Ambassador Coated

For me, this has always been the definitive head for a snare drum.
