Industry standard

Not much to be said. Great piece of gear.

4 stars in quality because the grille is a tad bit loose (twists around very easily). This doesn't create any rattle and really isn't a problem at all, I just like rock sturdy material.

SM57

Got it for my studio usage.

Legendary SM57, nothing to add except - great price for a great mic!

Highly recommended for any high gain or transient recording.

Great for the value and it sounds good!

Pros: Very cost efficient and it does it job perfectly--for vocals and instruments, reduces/almost not capturing my neighbors dogs and outside noise (But it is fine coz my rooms is not TREATED)

Cons: There is still some noise captured but almost none. Maybe there will be none if my room is treated.

Awesome Mic

Use :

I use it mainly to record guitars and sing, it is very polyvalent and does what I expect from it. Can only recommend it!

I don't use it everyday but all I can say is that it is perfect for almost any kind of recording.

I did not have a big budget but I needed a mic to record guitar and voices. So I chose to buy the Sure SM57 LC and I am really not disapointed. Very versatile. not much more to say.

Pros

It is extremely polyvalent so you can use it with almost everything, it is small. I bought in a bundle with a stand. Everything is quite sturdy. It is the first mic I buy so I can't compare with others bit I am entirely satisfied with it.

Cons

Nothing much to say, of course you can get mics for a specific purpose but for the price, this one is really perfect if you only want to buy one mic. It is a bit heavy but it's okay.

If you hesitate, do not, you will for sure not regret buying it as it is one of the best mic you can find for this price!

Great mic for recording and vocals

I don't think you can get a better mic for the price, especially for recording with amps. Sure, there are better mics out there but not in this price range. Shure has always been known for their quality mics and this particular mic has been around a long time. I would recommend this mic if you are looking for quality and clear audio.

The perfect mic

There's nothing I could say to add to this mic's reputation - its the industry standard for a reason.

benchmark

man what a device, i knew this model is widely used all around the world, but i did not know i would use that widely in my own recordings.

i've recorded various different pianos, guitars, vocals, foleys, even background noises and you can do it all with this. the fact that it's extremely versatile still leaves me in shock. i've used way more expensive microphones than this, yet i keep coming back to this beauty just in case my experimental recordings with different mics won't work.

once you understand what it does to the sound while recording, the possibilities are endless with it.

Do I really have to say anything about these mics.

As necessary as strings, straps and tape.

Just get one or 5.

A workhorse

A really versatile mic that works for vocals and instruments. It's a workhorse. I say go for it, you don't get any better for the money's worth. And in the end it's about skill, environment and other gear as well, so don't overemphasize the mic. You'll do just fine with it.

Lives up to it's legacy

I wanted a good microphone to record my guitar amp with and of course this one was the main choice and for good reason. Works really great and captures the amp sound perfectly, either for overdrive, distortion of cleans.

Only thing that bothered me at first was the wobbly head of the microphone. I thought I had a defective one but it turned out to be quite common.

Industry Standard

This is not the greatest mic in the world, but for 100 bucks is the most versatily thing you will find. It's good on rock vocals, electric guitars, snare-drums (both top and bottom), kick drums and even toms. Personally I like it on snare and electric guitars. I'd advise any serious studio to have at least 4 of these.

it's exactly what it needs to be

I do every thing with this mic - percussions, guitar, sound design recordings,....

Vocals? Stick a pop filter on it and you're good to go! The AW2S on this gives it a similar sound to the M58, so thats basically 2 mics in 1!

world class do it all mic

world class mic that can do it all if needs be. The absolute perfect mic for anyone interested in recording etc especially if your just starting out and need an inexpensive mic that can be used on anything.

A durable mic with a high loudness tolerance. A great instrumental microphone. For its sales price, you're getting a die-cast steel mic with an integrated pneumatic shock mount for countering vibration-induced movement.
