Very nice sound.

This is a great microphone, for the snare drum, in any home studio, simply fantastic! Great quality, great price, great sound.

Perfect amp microphone

Perfect for guitar amplifiers, the tone is just what you want to hear. You can double it with a condenser mic and balance the tone as you like. It is also perfect for snare drum and live brass. Feels heavy and really really solid. Sadly i've seen mine being hit hard by the drumstick of a drummer and it only got a little scratch on the body, the sound is uneffected.

The classic

this is the classic mic for snare drum, so actuary and nice sound, but the mic is a bit large for my many kit's drum.

Great as always!

This is my second SM57. I use it mainly for recording guitar amps and got this second one to record a stereo guitar rig.

I compare every other mic to this one. Could be that I am used to the sound, but it seems a lot of people feel the same way.

Sometimes I also record some vocal for demos with it. I find the SM57 helps getting a fuller sound if the singer's voice is weak at the bass frequencies.

Industry standard for a reason!

There's not much I can add, this microphone is the industry standard for a reason. I use it to capture amps, instruments, etc. Would definitely buy again!

Pros:

- Overall quality

- Resistance (this mic could survive any tour)

Cons:

- None

Great mic!

It really is what it say's on the box. Legendary...

Very hard to break,

Very easy to use,

Looks good,

Comes with a beautiful bag within the box.

Sounds perfect. Especially for micing your guitar amp. It's good for vocals too. Using it with a focusrite 2i2 3rd gen interface and yes there is a whole lot of gain for the interface i'm using it with. Don't need a middle device in between to boost the signal. I am happy with this!

Amazing value for money

Whether you're looking for a versatile first microphone or a professional studio microphone, the Shure SM57 has you covered.

Extremely sturdy build and quality sound make this microphone outstanding value for money. Great for recording electric guitars.

Can't recommend this more.

Best snare mic

If you want a snare mic for live and recordings, this is the one. I used this a lot and it's still in good shape (the cap came loose a few times but it's an easy fix) Must have for every drummer who gigs, records or uses in ear monitoring!!

Industry Standard.

One of those mics that can do just about everything well,

bought several of these along with some 58's for a local open mic night, needed something that could do just about anything, acoustics, guitars, snares (a personal favourite) cajon's.

does just that. can't go wrong

Amazing little mic

Does what it's supposed to do and more. I use to mic bass and guitar cabs as well as for vocal recordings.

Haven't found any cons yet.

Great mic for record guitar cabinets

I get this mic to record guitar cabinet at home through Focusrite Scarlett Solo. Even on low volume this mic gives great tone of the Greenback speaker and it feels a lot more natural than plugins.

Additional nice thing - included microphone clamp for mic stands.

I can't find any cons for this mic - this is well known SM57.

Classic

It doesn't get much better than this. The SM57 is a go to for micing up an amp or snare drums, but it can do so much more. It's great for vocals, and surprisingly good on acoustic guitars, too.

It also doesn't hurt that it's built like a tank. These things feel like they could withstand an atom bomb.

For a professional-grade dynamic microphone, this is one of the best you can get for any price.
