The classic '58

As others have said, there's a reason why the Shure SM58 is ubiquitous among performing bands. It's clear, sharp and has a little low-mid punch to add intelligibility and roundness to the sound. Feels good in the hand and is, of course, very well put together. Personally I think I prefer the model with a switch, but each to their own.

Yes, there are cheaper mics out there but if unless you're prepared to go out and try them all, the odds are that you will get something that functions but may not sound all that great. Knowing that many others before you have done all the research and have chosen the classic SM58 means you can rest assured that you are buying a great mic, trusted by millions.

Great

I bought two mics Shure SM58 before 3 years, they are still working without any problems. Clear sound and good quality. For this price great mic! I strongly recommend it

SM58 Workhorse

Its reliable, good value and built to last. We use 3 of these live for harmonies. Cheap mics are harder to control. The SM58 LC is very clear and ideally suited to vocals not crispy enough for instrument but if you unscrew the screen you get a better hf response. The 'standard' for band mics in my opinion.

Shure SM58

Look it's the most reliable vocal Microphone for live gigging period. They last forever unless you smash it off the drummers head that is.(which you should never do by the way). ;)

This mic is exceptional, used with my PA system for live music.

The clarity is second to none, no complaints so far!

Wouldn't hesitate to purchase another if required.

The classic / Industry standard

There's a reason these are such famous mics. The sound quality, durability, even the look. They're quite frankly what people expect to see in our rehearsal rooms so that's what they get.

We have 20 SM58s and have had some for 5-10 years without any issues. Which is great when you consider they are used day in day out in our 6 rehearsal rooms.

The grilles need to be replaced every year or 2 as they get pretty dented/rusted from being mistreated but other than that, they never really fail.

I do wish the replacement grilles were a little cheaper though so we could afford to 'freshen them up' a little more often

Must have one of these!

Words for what? It's simply the most versatile mic of all time and probably the most used ever! I recommend it without hesitation

The SM58: The best standard mic

We've used this mic for everything. Speaking, instruments (cajon and guitar), recording conversation. It really does everything. There may be better mics for specific tasks, but this mic does it all and keeps quality in most areas (even if you use a cheap mixing desk!) Everyone should always have a few of these to hand.

Industry standard mic

I can only really repeat what others have probably already said about this product.

Solid construction.

Well packaged.

Nice to have the little bag to keep the mic and its bracket handy and safe.

Industry standard for live vocalists.

I use mainly to do heavy metal growling style vocals for which it seems to match my voice perfectly.

Only one thing I can think would make this better would be an engraving service, so many people have these I worry about it getting swapped for a different one without me noticing.

Good quality product. Very robust. Mine have had a couple of falls and still are functioning efficiently. Tight, secure connections with microphone leads.
