Great mic, great quality.

This mic looks the part and is, it even feels good quality.

I play bass and sing lots of harmonies in my band, and this mic performs well. What more do we need.

A mic everyone should have around

This is just a standard that everyone should have. Especially considering the price, it is a very reasonable item to purchase. Top features are sound quality and durability. It's probably simply impossible to have it broken.

Great mic

There is a reason why products become the choice of industry, this mic has excellent tone, low handling noise and when you drop them, repeatedly I must add, they continue to work flawlessly. Everyone should own one of these.

Trust worthy mic for live applications. Once you get to know the sm58 it will get easy, as the 58 is a standard in the live industry.

I never had a 58 break down on me. And it can be a life saver for other instruments than vocals.

Always good

Ive had this mic for over a year now and its still in great condition. These mics are knows for being durable, so they're worth the investment. they are pretty much a staple in the bag of most musicians. good quality audio, they can be used to mic guitar amps, drums, and all vocals including louder rock vocals. they can be dropped (not recommended though) and they usually bounce right back. Most people know all this stuff but just for people who may not have bothered get one, or got a cheaper model, these are worth it and you'll prob use it on almost every gig for at least something

The main mic of my mic collection

I already have 5 of these mics including 2 beta ones. I just needed one more so it was a no brainer to pick up another one of these. Very happy with purchase and it's been used several times with no problem.

Original and Best

The SM58 is often copied but always remains consistent in it's quality. After trying out previous equivalents such as a Sennheiser I have always returned to the SM58.

My vocal range is baritone and I find that the SM58 can easily handle the combination of both the upper register and the lower register with no distortion or loss of volume. As player in a five piece band the SM58 has become a standard across the board with each one of our vocalists using them.

The SM58 is a consistent piece of kit and as a drummer who plays three gigs a week every week it is great to have something dependable that can be set up and be reliable week after week.

Living legend

Everybody knows the SM58, every singer has sung through one, every roady has set one up every and engineer has dropped one onto a very hard surface...yes, it's bomb proof!

So can anything new possibly be said about it? no...but don't forget how good it sounds! A thick lower mid is perfect for female vocalists, the smooth top is perfect for screamers. You can try other mics, you can look for a different sound but let's face it, there's always a reason for success in any field, it...just...works!

Shure.

What can i say about the Shure SM58? Its an industry standard mic, used throughout the world as the standard in vocal sound reproduction.

If you want to sound good, use it!

You sound better with one of these!

Excellent industry standard mic that is great for vocals and instrumentation.

I have used it in many situations and it always delivers great results.

Quality product

I invested in the Shure SM58 for the simple reason that it is an industry standard at this stage, you can see it being used at the majority of live gigs, and is used in studios all over the world. It is obviously going to be a hell of a lot clearer than those 20 euro microphones you can pick up, the Shure SM58 gives some great smooth frequencies. It comes with a little zip bag to store the mic in and also a nice sticker which is always great! The only con, although it doesn't bother me personally, is that there is no on/off switch on the mic. That is a minor thing really as this mic is built like a tank, if you drop it numerous times I would have no fears of it being damaged.

Great as always!

These mics are industry standard for a very good reason. They are great, robust and warm mics.

I really like them because of the warm tone and forgiving pick up area. I also have a Beyer dynamic V96, which I absolutely love, the clarity and tone is fantastic, but the pick up are is narrow and if you move off axis a little bit the volume drops through the floor! So this means that is is not very forgiving is you move around etc, best to keep this one on a stand. Partly for that reason and the feedback, but I won't get into that now!

The SM58 has a forgiving pick up area, so you can move around on stage, throw you voice in its vague direction and should be fine. Although that said, if you are 'self compressing' I think you will notice a huge change in depth/tone the further away your mouth is from the mic,

Overall, a worthy industry standard.

Industry Standard for a Reason

The SM58 dynamic microphone is without a doubt one of the most important tools for any musician.

Although I am primarily a guitarist, this mic allows me to cater for any backing vocals or lead that I may need to take on in a band setting. While I didnt want to spend a fortune due to vocals being a side job for me, I always look for the most reliable equipment so I don't have a fear of breaking during a gig. The shure sm58 keeps my mind safe that no matter how much abuse the mic will take from long journeys and road damage, it will stay 100%. I find this mic extremely good for recording despite it being marketed as a "live mic", allowing me to connect it to my digital interface with crystal clear output. I firmly believe this is a must need mic for any professional gigging vocalist.

classic

exactly as you'd expect, sm58 does the job for everything you want. top sound quality, only problem I've had is mild electric shocks coming off the mic when doing vocals (this is after 3 years of rough handling/treatment by myself, so no complaints there really). an essential for any home studio

Industry standard

These Microphones not only sound great, but last well.

They are supremely rugged, withstanding many years of abuse on and off stage and never missing a beat. (unlike our drummer!)

With replaceable parts, its easy to keep these looking fresh, and they are tough to beat for something you can 'grab and go' with.

Great vocal clarity and presence, there is a reason that so many people use these world wide. At their price point there is no competition if you are looking for a vocal mic for live use.

They are also quite resistant to feed back, which is another plus point!

Overall, I've owned these for years and just ordered another, i wont be replacing them for a long time.

Shure Sm58

the sm58 has a strong following and reputation, I am impressed by the quality and reliability of this microphone, there are few better substitutes for a live performance, for recording I found this mic to be lacking, for loud rock singers it should be fine, for more delicate ballads a good condenser microphone is a better choice

verry good microphone

the best microhphone monney can buy, I have used it for speaking and also singing, it sounds good, the highs are crisp, If it's hand held the noise from the moving hand it's not captured, relly like this mic.

Best Mic There is for Live Stage Performance.

Built like a tank, sounds smooth and clear. Not too hot, and flat response. I won't use any other mic for stage use. The only problem I have ever had with SM58 is where to put the free SHURE sticker they give you!
