Shure SM58 LC Reviews
The norm for everyone.
It works and it is probably the safes choice for anyone who is thinking of getting a mic around 100?. Works for vocals nice. Would not use it as drum mic or instruments. It wouldn't suck but it is meant to be for vocalists IMO.
What's left to say...
What's left to say about these mics that hasn't already been said 10000 times on the internet. Well, it's all true. My band has been exclusively on SM58s for about 9 years now. We've tried other mics, but always come back to the humble 58. The fact that they won't break the bank is definitely a bonus, but even if this mic was 3 times the price it would still be a contender because it always sounds just right.
Nice mic
Maybe it's more suited for a female vocalist but all in all is a good reliable mic, can take a beating too as it's fallen a couple of times on me but still sounds as good as the first day I bought it.
Shure just can't be beaten.
If you're looking for a live vocal microphone, and possibly even want to use it live other instruments such as kick drum, snare, electric guitars, saxophone or Bass then this is your microphone.
Use it for vocals and you will never be disappointed!
If you are looking to use it for other instruments, it won't always sound amazing, but it is only a fraction different to the SM57 as they have the same capsule, and therefore will still perform very well.
The build quality of these microphones is unbeatable, I've seen them dribbled on by children, thrown around by teenagers, and dropped from great heights multiple times by adults. They just do not give up!
If you have any live/studio sound equipment, you should have brought this a long time ago.
Test Shure Sm58
Great microphone.
I use it for live music all the time. It's in my opinion a tool that any professional technicians must have. It's a classic you'll find on many hospitality riders.
It's also a really well finsh product that will last long (almost unbreakable)
Backing/Lead live vocals mic.
A replacement for my old SM-58 after it was accidentally drowned (in beer). A waste of good beer but dammed annoying as I had owned my old Mic. for over 20 years.
Great sound and tough enough to survive the abuse of regular gigging (well almost!!!)
Standard
Nothing to argue about! One of the absolute most classical microphones, all time. Never breaks, always works.
It's not the best sound, compared to expensive recording microphones and such. But there really is nothing to complain about. This is a standard microphone for a reason.
Shure SM58 LC Review
I think that everything is said for this product. In short terms - in my and my band's opinion - the best mic on the market. Versatile, well built, strong, great tone and good looks. If someone's buying a mic, without knowing what to buy - this is a product with no mistake, you cannot miss with this one.
Great mic, industry standard for a reason.
Recently got one of these and have used it regularly for gigging. Excellent mic, good sound, sturdy microphone and it comes with a mic stand attachment and a small gig bag. No bells and whistles but no need for them either. This mic has never let me down and almost everywhere I go to gig you'll see a Shure SM58s lined up on stage. Probably not the best mic in the world but for the price it's ideal for anyone doing pub/club gigs or small time recording.
A known quantity
The SM58 is the most popular vocal mic in the world! It is a 50-year old design and there are plenty of newer mics available at the same price point that are of higher quality. However, many artists prefer the sound of the SM58, and it has a well-deserved reputation for durability. As a sound engineer, I'd always want to have a couple available.
Excellent
Excellent robust microphone.
The best for the money
For this price you simply won't get a better stage mic. Sounds perfect, REALLY STURDY, and nice overall. I saw in YouTube where a guy drove over it with his car and put it on the bbq, still worked!
Can't go wrong!
Can't go wrong with SM58s. They are everywhere, and there's a reason for that! They sound good and are practically indestructible. One of the best live stage mics out there. You won't be disappointed with an SM58.
What can you say about this mic that hasn't already been said?
If you are a person unsure what vocal mic to buy listen to this, I bought this mic 8 years ago and it still works despite getting a hammering over time. It's been used primarily for vocals, but as a drummer, it has covered many other jobs (due to other mics failing) I've used in on my snare and even as an overhead, and when EQ'd correctly, your drums can sound huge, both in studio and live.
These are durable and one of the best sounding mics ever to be designed and built.
best mic ever
I own a shure sm 58 microphone for 5 years (still in great condition) and i recently bought another 2 of them.
Is extremely solid , it sounds great and is good value for money. They are good for home studio and for live performances.
Trusty microphone!
I've used the SM58's for several years now; back in the day giggin' and nowadays just foolin' around at home. This one I mainly use through GJ2 to iphone; works well as expected. Great mic for the price!
Better than expected
I bought this because of the brilliant sound quality that they provide, i wouldn't hesitate to buy another, just as i expect a good microphone to be. Clear sound quality and a good build quality. A very good microphone overall
Bulletproof
This is an industry standard mic. To the extent that the word 'microphone' is often just replaced with 'sm58'
I've bought a few of these of the years (not as replacement, as additional mics) and they are constantly good, they just don't break.
Do it.
Industry standard and rightly so
Many of my positive comments regarding SM57's also apply to their cousin the SM58. These guys are the sstaple live venue microphone of choice.
Their frequency response is typically ideal for vocals, though adaptable enough to be turned to a number of other applications in a bind, especially brass instrumentation.
The absolute key here though is durability. You could throw an SM58 under a train and use it the next night. It took a year of constant useage for our last set of these to start to deteriorate in any perceivable manner and when you consider that they were being hurled around by hardcore punk singers every few days that is high praise indeed.
Brilliant bits of audio equipment absolutely perfect for any music venue.
Warning: Make sure you buy these from a reputable retailer as past experience saw us mistakenly buy Chinese-made cheap copies of these (virtually identical) and they were absolutely dreadful. SM58's always go for around the same price. If you see them significantly cheaper elsewhere, be very very wary.
Sure Sm58 - Workhorse
This mike has got a ridiculous amount of use and sounds great on everything I've used it on! It's the industry standard for a reason! It's one of the best and especially for the money! They're essentially indestructible but is still one of the best dynamic mikes on the market! 5 stars!!
