Shure SM58 LC Reviews
Best mic in the business
Industry standard by all means, you can't go wrong with the Shure sm 58. Ideal for live performances or speeches. For recording purposes, the sm58's along with other dynamic mics are really only suited to rock vocals. For the most part, condenser mics should be used when recording, but there's absolutely no harm in using both. Excellent mic. Reliable and sturdy, great sound quality.
Legendary Mic
Home-studio singers/producers with untreated rooms, get this one! Yeah i know it doesn't look cool like the big condensed microphones but in your case, you need a dynamic so you don't capture the sound of cars passing down the street or neighbor's dog barking. Even professional studios use a bunch of Sm58s for multiple purposes! Must have in every studio!
Pretty good
Perfect mic for beginners. Has a little loose cable problem when even tho the cable is all the way in and nice and 'clicked' into place, you still need to give it an extra push for it not to lag.
It's a very good mic. I'd recommend it 100%. Probably the best mic for the price.
Edit: Over a year later and this microphone works amazingly. No problems what so ever!
Great microphone!
I'm using it for both singing/voice recording and as an instrument mic, usually in front of a 2x12 cab and I am very happy with it. It produces great sounds that give you a professional feeling. Highly recommended!

Now I will have a chance to try myself in the higher level of singing which is very enjoyable:) I am singing many times on karaoke events and I am finding very helpful that I can practice at home with this lovely mic.I need to say that I have a professional item for really reasonable price and I will recommend a to all my friends because it is perfect for a gift and even to simply have it at home for your own.So I am starting know my career as a singer :)
A Legend. Unbeaten. A Great Microphone.
Bought this as a first microphone for a studio project and live performance.
I didn't want to spend a lot of money. But I also wanted to get something good.
The SM58 has always been dubbed the "legendary" vocal mic. The standard to which every other vocal mic is compared to, and well, it's easy to see why.
It is of impeccable build quality, there is simply no way to find any fault in it and it can take some serious wear and still function perfectly, this is one extremely durable microphone.
The sound is very natural and true to your ears, what you get from the SM58 is basically what you can hear.
It is a great microphone.
It will always remain a legend, and rightly so.
Invincible!
The mic sounds amazing! and i think the SM58 is well known enough that everybody knows how great it sounds! you will hear it used by most bands you go to see and that is for a reason! it just sounds fantastic!
but the best thing about this mic for me is not its amazing sound, its the durability!i am buying another one for use in my band, but i have had this microphone for years! and i have put it through some serious punishment, it has been dropped on hard surfaces probably hundreds of times, the grill on my old sm 58 looks as though it has been dropped off a building, but the microphone still works perfectly. Absolutely amazing piece of kit! i would recommend this above all over microphones for use in a live situation!
5/5
Yet another review
Simply the best microphone out there for live performances... everyone already said it! Recommended.
Work Horse
I've been playing gigs for over 30 years. This is the mic that is the standard choice of sound men and singers for as long as I can remember. You can spend a lot of money getting a more powerful or more sensitive with more this or that, but the SM58 is still the one I'll come back to for comfort. Simply because I know how it responds. And it responds well. There is no other mic that compares with it. It's the chosen one!
The mic that everyone knows
It may not have the best sound, but it is the most widely used and de facto standard vocal mic for several decades now. It is very robust and durable, it is a kind of mic that you buy once and then you have a mic for a lifetime.
it is what it is
It's an SM58, great vocal mic, will take years of abuse and can double as an insturment mic if needed
solid mic
solid, classic sounding mic, but surprisingly let down by a poor resistance to moisture (normal gig-type moisture, not anything unusual)
Trusy, Standard Dynamic Mic
This mic is a great choice in many cases. If your looking for an inexpensive standard mic, it's hard to find something better than an SM58. Long lasting & durable, you can definitely take it on the road. The bag it comes with is good quality, handy & useful. This mic is nothing special in terms of sound. If you really want your vocals to shine(for example if your a lead vocalist), think maybe of investing in a good quality condenser microphone that can give more justice to your unique vocal sound. Very happy I bought this mic, I use it for rehearsal and it always works a charm.
Sm58
Sm58 is industry standard and for good reason, it can withstand rough handling and built like a brick, it has a decent sound and is good value for money. Buy or cry :-)
A great 'industry standard'
I love these mics. They are a great 'all rounder' mic and are suitable for a range of applications. They are great for vocals and give a warm, rounded tone. I have found that when hiring out rigs to people they always ask for SM58's. These are a must for any hire company.
Very good!
Got it three years ago and it's gigged and traveled all over and keeps it's same tone and power. Handy thing really. Just pug in and play. No switches or anything!
Shure sm58 - hero!
I have to say, for the price of an sm58 it is almost unbelievable the quality of microphone you get, they're rugged and are very difficult to damage - which is a great start.
My main choice for buying an sm58 is that they're seen as industry standard, which I assumed would mean decent quality, but nothing remarkable. Even during recording in a small studio I decided to bring it along just in case, and it proved to be better than the studio's own mic (cannot remember the name, but wasn't cheap).
Like the other reviews say, you can't go wrong with an sm58!
EL MEJOR
lo mejor en el mercado, en cuanto a mi opinión.. una calidad super fiel , un diseño super fuerte. super facil de ecualizar , le doy 5 estrellas
It's like a tank that you sing into.
Stick me before and audience with a guitar and a microphone and watch a reasonably dry human turn into a heaving sweaty mass that attracts comment, electric shocks, and very occasionally, badgers.
Over the years this seemingly endless deluge of musically purged sweat has EATEN the front grill of my SM58 so that it now looks like something pulled from the bottom of the ocean.
It still works!
I've dropped it, melted it with acid man-sweat, left it to rattle about unsecured in my gig box and left it out in the rain.
And it still works.
I love it!
Perfect for background vocals!!!
