AKG K-240 Studio Reviews
Lack of bass
Everything is fine about this product except for amount of low frequencies, it's very flat no matter what output I'm using.
Excelent
I use it for home playing through headphone out of an amp and works great with great definition even on complex sound structures like distortion with modulation.
Wonderful!
Perfect cheap headphones for studio use.
You can easily mix on them if you know how :)
Heritage model, bit cheap touch wise, but for 55 eur you cant go wrong with them.
good and affordable
For the cost of these phones I think I would have to spend an awful lot more to be able to improve on the sound quality there good.
I can ware them for an hour or so at a time so they cant be in any way uncomfortable, nice long cable too. Good Choice.
Best Buy Ever!!
Best audio quality and super confortable headset for its price.

Headphone sounds realistic. You can wear it a whole day without discomfort and sweating.
Great budget headphones
I've been using AKG K-701's for several years now, for listening to music, and was looking for something in addition to practice guitar with and to take along on travels. The AKG K-240 offers excellent sound quality at the price point and is very comfortable to wear. It truly is a very light set of headphones - Not much in the sense of luxury and some of the materials look a bit cheap, but decently made nonetheless.
Really happy with the natural sound they project which is much better than expected at this price.
video montage
we use them for video montage and are great. they sit nicely on our ears, great value for the money
Nice entry level headphones
I use it connected to my amp to play guitar. Works great! Good sound, very clear and defined. Really recommend!
Best headphones so far
Fit is snug and the sound is brilliant. I am using for a Yamaha electric guitar. I was using some "standard" headphones previously now my "real" accoustic sounds boring.
They are great! they do the job
These are quality!
very worth it, great for mixing/production purposes.
a little tight on the head, maybe it might change in the future as they get softer.
They sound very flat, to me and gives me a bit of a wide sound.
AKG K-240
very good headphones, with awesome sound. Recommended highly.
Nice headphones for mixing
Nice, clear and comfortable headphones for mixing and nothing else really. These don't isolate at all (open back). The bass is almost not there but it is good when you hear it.
Below expectations
Poor low end and poor high end frequencies, generally sound is in middle range...and too much plastic...I have old cheaper model K-52, work much better...
Surprisingly decent sound quality for this price range, as 1/2 open, it is pretty much my style of head phones most of the time.
So good it's a steal
Neutral sound the way I like it, light, very comfortable for ear and lobes so I don't tear it apart with my earring; I am a huge fan of the jack adaptor as well. Overall quality good, though it does look a bit cheap, but hey... for this price it's way more than enough.
A classic headphone
My previous pair of AKG K240s broke after 38 years. I bought a new pair, to recapture the classic sound and comfort that they provided.
I expected more in terms of comfort...
I recently returned a Focusrite Scarlet Solo because it didn't suit my needs and the headphones that came with it were far better than these at a similar price i guess (It was a bundle deal).
These headphone have an elastic system that 'auto adjusts' to your head/ear size and i really don't like it. Its not as comfortable as adjustable headphones and you cant 'overadjust' them a bit to reduce the weight/contact with you head so you've always got a plastic strip on your head.
For me the padding around the ears is too hard for long use comfort, and they are quite small - which, if like me you have chunky earrings, makes it really uncomfortable until you kind of tuck them into the headphones!
I also found the tension too much and feel too much pressure on my ears, again with no way to adjust it.
And finally, a small but irritating thing is the elastic adjuster means that (on one side) some of the auto adjusting sliding stuff hits the metal rim around the speaker scratching the gold colour off.
Overall they sound OK but for the reasons above, I cant wear them for long so i'm changing them
Feather in weight, neutral sound
They feel very neutral while checking the mix, you don’t feel the influence of exagerated lows or highs.
Just perfect!
You really don’t need more than this.
They are an industry standard for something.
Great for home studio use
