Condenser Mic

I use this mic at my home studio, to record mostly vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, so I can only judge based on close-miking recordings.

For the price, this mic is great. It doesn't colour the sound and has a wide freq range. I find it particularly flattering with male vocals actually.

The build is very solid. I use a pop shield when recording vocals, although a shockmount would be great to be included.

All in all, great value for money, this is going to be a best-seller.

The go to tool for vocal recording

Decided to upgrade my microphone setup and treat myself to this microphone. Heard a lot of great things about it on music forums etc. I was not disappointed. Came with a little leather pouch which was an unexpected bonus which can be used for storage/protection. Great vocal clarity and little to no unwanted noise which i was delighted with when used in conjunction with the m audio 2 by 2 audio interface. All in all , great purchase and everything I need

I use it for rapping and I needed a good cheap microphone. In my opinion this one is the best in this price range for what I was looking for,but one has to be sure to use it first with a good preamp,cause mine destroyed the quality recording of the microphone.

Bom microfone.

I was very amazed at the quality of this mic, it blew me away, because of its very low price for a mic, I was worried that it would t be very good, but I was so wrong, it was easy to set up right from the box and the extra parts of it were packaged very nice and safely, over all I think that if you have the money then this mic is perfect for you.

Great Mic!

I use it to record voice and guitar! I'm very happy with the results!

A good add on for my recording set

I bought 3 AT2020 last year to expand my set of mics,

I record mostly brass bands, and I use the mics as "zonal" recording (I use a couple of RODE NT5s for overall).

The sound is not "clear" and not that special, it's like "muffled" if I compare the sound to the NT5, but it does the job.

Simple value

Bought as a step up from cheap dynamic microphones, for use in chat and home studio vocal recording.

Pros:

Much clearer vocals, captures a much better range than cheap dynamics.

Understated appearance, doesn't distract by being eye catching when working.

Cons:

Somewhat barren of features such as pad or mute.

Overall:

Really can't complain given the price point. It may not have many features but it's a lot of bang for your buck in tems of clarity. If you're looking to step up a little from cheaper microphones or headsets for home studio purposes, it'll do you well.

Very good mic

Works wonders as a broadcast mic

I've used a bunch of AT2020's to equip my radio studio for the last 6 years and they are great! We were working with a very low budget and they were ideal for simple voice broadcast. They were also great when we were having acoustic bands to come and play on the air. It became my go-to broadcasting mic even though it isn't advertised as such. Worth every penny.

Great versatile condenser!

I have also used it for acoustic guitars and a pair of them for drum overheads. All with good results!

Great mic for the price by far

This is a super cheap mic that gives results, sounds great for vocals (more so female than male) but also works great on acoustic and even on guitar amps!

I'll start with the cons of this mic. It is a tiny bit noisy when compared to say the Rode NT1-A - however is a lot cheaper than the Rode. It is nearly unnoticeable in fairness, unless you are recording quiet parts such as gentle singing, where the noise can be heard in the silent gaps.

Second is that it can be a little bright. Not necessarily harsh, but could maybe be a touch more natural sounding. However I am being super picky, It's so good for it's price I would have happily paid more!

It captures the extreme lows and extreme highs with ease, which sounds great on amps, especially in live situations - however the polar patterns are a bit inconsistent throughout the frequency spectrum so it can be worth keeping it well away from other sound sources.

Overall, it is a bit of a swiss army knife, and an absolutely solid, reliable, all-round mic - regardless of price! The cheap price point is just an added bonus!

Great microphone for home use.

I use this for recording voice and acoustic guitar at home, and it works great for that purpose. The sound goes through very clearly.

It picks up all sounds in the room, so it is best used in quiet enviroments.

Great sound and clarity

I run this Mic through a focusrite 2i2 and it runs very well. It doesn't have any real features like a dB pad or a bass roll off which coincidentally the mic could use since it does capture a lot of low end. I had an old samson SP01 shockmount lying around ant it works well but is a little loose which is the real drawback that this mic has no shockmount. Solid construction and in my noisy environment it actually works really well.

AT2020

Fantastic for recording speech, but has worked very well recording guitar, drums, screamed vocals and piano also. Not the warmest or clearest sounding mic I've tried but at the price point it can't be beat.

Construction feels very solid, and the included carry case provides extra protection against scratches.

Versatile Microphone

This is a great microphone. I was looking for a reasonably cheap but good microphone to record mainly vocals. I was delighted with the quality is achieved, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was not only great for recording vocals, but was also very versatile in that when I recorded guitar with it, it sounded very good! I was satisfied with the delivery time (about one week) and was pleased to find that the microphone was well packaged and came with a bag. I found that this microphone punched far above its weighted and competed with industry standard, heavily priced microphones in the same catagory. I would highly recommend the microphone to anyone looking for a reasonably priced microphone with good value!

parts missing and microphone looks used.

I seen this microphone being advertised as new so i purchased it. package was delivered today, looks used, no user manual guide or cable or stand, very unhappy with the purchase... absolute joke!

Great mic for speach

This mic have a nice alimunim construction, it feel really solid.

The included mount is acceptable for low gain recordings, but for higher gain recordings, a shockmount is needed.

It does not include a shockmount, and a compatible shockmount cost too much comparing to the microphone's price, the better is just buying an universal shockmount.

The sound is not that special, it does a good job in voice and acoustic instruments, but its best spot is recording speach.

This microphone have a foam protection working as a built-in pop filter: This is good for amateur recording, so they do not need to worry about windscreens or pop filters, But, i other hand, It's bad, because the sound loose some detail in acoustic instruments recordings.
