Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Reviews
They are everywhere for a reason
Had the previous model and totally noticed the difference! Bought these because thereâs a pair in every single studio I visit, so I thought I should get used to itâs response. I rarely do final mixes in these, but they work very well in a pinch. Relatively flat and an all around work horse. They look great too!
I love these
Upgraded from ATH-M40X, I have been using ATH-M50X for years now, very good pair of headset, but if you're on a budget the 40's are very decent too. The sound is crystal clear for a closed design.
More than you need as an amateur
As an amateur bass player using the Audio-Technica ATH-M50X for home practice, I've discovered a headphone that excels in every aspect of performance. The ATH-M50X delivers an immersive listening experience with crisp highs, rich mids, and deep, accurate bass. During long practice sessions, comfort is essential, its snug fit, plush earpads, and adjustable headband delivers comfort. After hours of use, I experience minimal fatigue, thanks to its ergonomic design. However, the sturdy earpads can sometimes hurt my ears. Crafted with durable materials and meticulous attention to detail, the ATH-M50X is built to withstand the rigors of daily use. The inclusion of multiple detachable cables, including coiled and straight options, eliminates the need for purchasing additional accessories, enhancing the overall value proposition. In summary, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50X headphones offer outstanding sound quality, comfort, and durability, making them the perfect companion for amateur musicians seeking reliable gear for home practice.
Excellent pair
Very good response through the audio spectrum! Excellent stereo image
The best earphones
The best sounding earphones I have ever tried or owned. It is a relentless earphone, your ears will be r***d but you will have brain orgasm :).
Amazing sound, not the most comfortable
These are some of the greatest headphones I have tried, the sound is super flat and everything is clear to the ear when mixing. They are built like a tank, but you lose some comfort when wearing them for long periods of time because of the really secure fit, which also is a great thing when recording vocals cuase the sound doesnt bleed
Great sounding headphones.
As a musician who uses headphones for mostly everything, the ATH-M50X headphones have great sound quality, beautiful design and good build quality. My one complaint is that after wearing them for a while (+2-3 hours) they become a bit uncomfortable. Unlike the DT 770 Pro, you won't face such discomfort. But Generally for a tracking headphones, They are amazing.
Great pair of headphones
A friend who is an audiophile recommended these headphones. I haven't got experience with other models of quality headphones, but I am very pleased with them. The detachable cable is a big bonus.
I use them for listening to music and also for in my audio interface for playing guitar through amp sim on my computer. I only wish they had a volume scroll wheel on them, but that's ok.
Audio-Technica ATH-M50X
I use these headphones for mixing and recording. They never let me down and give a good representation of what is going on in my mix. Of course, every headphone has its character that you have to get used to. I would definitely buy these again.
Perfect Sound
long to short best purchase in my entire life
Quality
I love how well thought this model is. The included accessories are rather handy. Also it's great that at least in my opinion this model is sort of industrial standard so more or less everyone has them and knows what they sound like.
No need an expensive one after you own these!!
The sound is amazing, comparable with the best expensive headphones, amazing range of frequencies, clarity, precise Bass, precedes... nothing else needed!!!
Great sturdy workhorse!
I love these headphones. They have stood the test of time and the sound quality is absolutely awesome. Prefect flat eq for monitoring and/or listening to any kind of music. Highly recommend.
perfect
best value and it does whats needed
Very good. Just a little to sweaty
They fit well on the ears, the sound it's very detailed and crisp with good bass. My only issue was that they can heat you up and make you sweat around the ears.
Very good quality
Very comfortable and affordable pair of headphones. Decent quality, built for lasting long and very easy to mix in.
Excellent!
Great sound quality for the price! Great for mixing music if you don't want to wake up the neighbors..
Bought in 2016, reviewing 2023.
I bought these in april 2016, it is now January 2023 , so we are coming up to 7 years of heavy use for these earphones. This indicates to me, that they are extremely sturdy and well designed. I have replaced the earpads twice in that time after they became tattered.
The headphones are excellent for music production, listening to music, playing video games and watching movies. They are the most high end and best headphones I have ever owned. I can use them for several hours without any comfort issues. After three hours, my ears and head start to feel fatigued but not in a way where I need to stop wearing them.
I also like the way they look, they are nicely styled with a minimalistic chic look. All in all, I have no complaints and I will instantly replace them with a new pair when they die.
Excellent value.......
Bought these to replace an ageing pair of Panasonics (of uncertain vintage..)...
Having used them playing guitar for about 3 weeks now, between 1-1.5 hours per day, they have proven to be comfortable and secure, with an awesome sound quality that you would expect from a more expensive pair....Very impressed..
THE BEST STUDIO HEADPHONES !!
I am super happy with these purchase, I love the quality of these studio headphones. I like how they can filter the noise and let me focus in the mixing and mastering process!! Highly recommend it !! <3
