Pure love

I've mixed a lot of demos on this headset and it just sounds great. Also using them for listening music through a USB headphones amp and the end result is amazing. Very comfortable, high-quality headphones for this price range. Totally recommend!

Top choice

I exchange my DT770 PRO for this one.

I like it better for the bass is a bit thicker and the highs not so harsh.

It comes with more accessories and I like the fact that it has a removable cable.

Definitely a reference!

Sound quality simply awesome!!

I have 2 Audio Technica ATH- M40x and 3 Audio Technica ATH- M50x in my recording studio and no complaints from my musicians so far. Sound quality and balance between Bass and Treble is just fine. I love these headphones specially because of the possibility to change the cables depending on the setups I make.

Only issue is the leather earpads and headband. You need to be careful for them to last longer.

Compact and rugged - One of the best options out there.

Compared to my other monitor headphones, the DT-770 Pro, these seem to have just a bit better low end response. But overall the sound is flat with no flavor whatsoever.

The low impedance gives you some versatility, allowing the use across multiple devices rather than just a dedicated headphone amplifier.

You can even use them as your daily headphones!

Comfort wise, they are the best suit for some while a nightmare for others... It all comes to your preferences. The Pads are a bit smaller compared to other headphones in this range and some complain about that. Buying new pads might solve this issue, but I haven't tried that yet.

The clamping force is present, but seems to go unnoticed.

They shrink down to half the size. You can switch cables.

They are rugged, I dropped them multiple times, and even used them in raining conditions, though I would not encourage you to do that!!

In conclusion, if you only need voice monitoring headphones, go ahead and get the DT-770 Pro, otherwise if you would like to be able to use them as day to day and pack them, throw them around, I would suggest you get these.

Great

I'm using it with Millenium MPS-850 E-Drum set. Clear and crisp sounds. Only downside for me is when it is hot at home, it makes you sweat a lot :)

Super quality Headphones

I think they are the best at this price that we can find on the market. Nothing to say on quality and materials. The sound is excellent. High fidelity with an honest price.

A Drummers Dream

I bought these for recording drums at home, amazing quality and unreal balance when hearing the drums live in your ears when recording.

Everyone has different ears so do see if you are comfortable wearing over-ear headphones there is a difference to on -ear.

highly recommend them to drummers for tracking drums in a studio

Great Headphones

Its really fun to use the ATH-M50 X. I got them already some years ago and they are still performing like on the first day. I use them when I´m jamming around. For mixing, I prefer other headphones like the BD 990 or 770 because otherwise I always mess up my low end with the ATH-M50 X.

All in all great headphones!!

Best headphones for the budget

I'm amazed of how comfortable and clear can these headphones be. I tend to work during the night so I use them everyday. The sound is incredibly clear. Not as flat as the ATH-M40 though. The M50 have a bit more bass than the M40 but I don't mind a bit more bite.

The quality of the build is top notch.

Perfect for Music Production

I bought this product to be able to have a neutral sound when i work in my home studio.

The accoustic is really good for its price and it's really confortable on the ears if you only spend a couple hours with it. (More, it may become a little bit unconfortable since it's tight around the head)

I fairly recommand this product !

Good monitoring headphones

Light and comfortable with good sound insulation.

I particularly appreciate the 3 different leads that allow me to do different things unhindered - mixing sitting down, playing guitar sitting or standing, or playing upright electric bass (obviously standing)

4 on sound because they lack a little in the very low frequencies when I'm playing bass, but you need to pay a lot more than these headphones cost to get excellent low level quality and clarity

Comfortable

I have a pair of these for years in grey. They are really comfortable and offer decent isolation and a solid low end. I've travelled extensively with them (with a hard case) and they have never broken on me through extensive use.

I bought this set so I could offer anyone I was recording the same SonarWorks tuned headphone response I was monitoring on. This really helps the recording process when you know you're listening to exactly what the talent is listening to.

What SonarWorks has showed me is that there are no perfect headphones (sonically). I've tried expensive DT's with SonarWorks and the correction is always noticeable.

Perfect

ATH-M50X have a nice overall sound, not too much bass or treble. All balanced.
