Perfect

This headphone is legendary, and for a good reason. Well built, with an amazing sound (Clear highs, well balanced medium, and deep, tight lows), lights for it size and application, you just can't go wrong with the M50X.

Compare with the M40 before buying because M50 has more basses

Simply the best

First and last choice for monitoring headphones. X version comes with detachable cables which is a great idea.

Superb sound in all . Been using them to track, mix and edit video.

Also been using them travelling around, never hurt my head

Good Product

Probably one of the best headphones in the price range.

The M50x are comfortable enough but after a longer while can get heavy. They are also quite a tight fit but seem very sturdy, and are well sound sealed, so you do get the full potential of the sound coming through your ears.

Sound-wise; The headphones are little bit bias on the low end, so if you are looking to use them as a mixing monitor, be aware of the sound spectrum that can be a little bit over the top on the bass side.

I feel that the high end of the headphones response is a little too compromised and can be drowned out , as the low range seems to take over a lot. Having said all that, the headphones do handle extremely well and you can really push them with high volumes and there are no issues whatsoever.

I would give it a 7.5/10 overall score mainly because of the handling and built quality. If you are looking for a good pair of headphones, the 50x are a good way to go without busting the bank. Other alternative is the Sennheiser HD 380 pro, which are slightly more delicate, but yet very comfortable, with a little bit more of the high end range and more realistic perspective one the Mid/low range, but then again not as sturdy and feel quite fragile.

serious set of headphones

very good sound quality, can spot mistakes in the mix fast which I couldn't before, well able to compete with other that are a much higher price.

It is a quality headphone..

This is a closed back headphone, dont expect that your ears are going to be comfortable like at the open air. But it offers a great frequency range for that price and dont worry ATH-M50X will get used to your head structure in time.

Very comfortable

The headphones used for mixing and whole DAW stuff, even separately with the keys only. In parallel with monitors they just perfect in class. I have placed 4 stars for sound quality only because we could always find a high end stuff that cost 5 times more and sounds of course a bit better. Generally, M50X sounds so good practically in all range of frequencies. I have to mark the comfortability of the headphones: no problem if you use them several hours straight. Would buy again with no doubt.

I prefer these to anything else on the market at this price range. sound great... then again it is Audio Technica they just make great products.

Great headphones

The sound is really great. It's clear and vibrant. No distortions. I am really happy about them.

The headphones are built in a very sturdy way. If you want to have them to-go, it's a great product.

When it's hot (like in summer) they might be a little bit uncomfortable. But that's due to the material that pads are made of. It's not bad, but noticeable.

Best Headphones I've owned

I use the ATH-M50 X for pretty much everything recording/producing wise.

They have a really clear sound and I've found that nothing gets lost in a mix.

While they're really comfy, I've found that after a few hours they can become uncomfortable, but that's no bad thing since you really shouldn't be listening to loud(ish) music for that long a time without a break!

best pro headphones in a budget

In case you are looking for professional headphones in a budget then this is the model to look for. Excellent quality, superb sound, amazing price. You can use them both in the studio or live performances. If you notice on many youtube videos of famous musicians and bands, you will see them wearing those headphones. Highly recommend them. It also has 3 different types of cables, a straight long, a curved long, and a straight short, which is ideal in case a cable needs replacement at any point.

I got the ath m50x for home recording mixing etc.

Its the first day i got them and they are excellent so far.

Stable, comfortable and with a wide range of stereo and spectrum clarity.

I m still waiting to see if they re gonna be this comfortable in the future.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50 X

First of all i wear a glasses,so i want a comfortable headphones and those does the job very well.At first was a little stiff but after 2-3 hours has became very comfortable.

The look is not something special but the quality is fantastic, after a year and lot of hours of use is like a new,of course i am very careful with my staff.

I use them for guitar playing,recording and mixing.The eq is not absolutely flat but when you accustomed them you will succeed a great mixes.

The best thing about them is that there is no way to have any unwanted distortion in the mix,the speakers are very detailed on this subject.

If you want them for just listening hip hop,dubstep,pop with heavy bass... don't buy it.In general the eq section is very flat for listening music and gaming.

I love the sound quality

I never used high quality headphones before, and I can definitely say that the sound has a major improvement.

My favourite thing about these headphone is the extra comfortable headband. I also love the included 3 different cables which are extra helpful. In my opinion, these are the best headphones for their price.

i do a lot of mixing on the road and usually bring 2 or 3 different headphones.

next to the ATH-M50, i use a Beyer Dynamic DT770 Pro and a Sennheiser HD-600 - the Sennheiser is amazing, just not in noisy places or in public space due to it's open design). all are pretty great headphones, though if i'd have to pick one, i'd definitely pick the Audio Technica one for its clarity and very comfortable wearability (Beyer Dynamic bothers me physically after a while for creating pressure on my head).

this is my second pair. the first one became quite worn out on the ear pads after 4 years (the soft material got so dry it got cracks and became rough), and the head band broke a piece of plastic off, which made him not close well over my ears anymore. this though was after 4 years of almost full time use and being on the road, packed in and out of bags etc, so i frankly don't see that as a quality issue.

Great quality and accessories, very comfortable.

Good for production with a good reference sound but not really suited to djing as not very flexible and too bulky.Go for HD 25s if your djing.

Best value for money

Good response in all frequencies, exactly what i expected.

I could mix for hours with them and not feel the weight. Or hear the outer world
