Harley Benton G212 Celestion V30 5-stars Reviews
Great cheap cab
Hands down the cheapest 2x12 with celestion vintage 30's. Great value for the price - the speakers alone are nearly the price of this cab!
Definitely worth it over the other Harley Benton 2x12's.
Great Value for Money
I bought this cabinet to use as a lightweight alternative to my Marshall 1960AV 4x12 cab.
It's been much easier to carry around to jams, and much more practical to fit in tight rehearsal spaces.
I took the feet off and use it on it's side to get a better vertical spread.
These cabs cost the same as buying the speakers individually, so it's a no brainer value wise.
They sound similar to Orange 2x12s with a little less low-mids and low end (the Orange cabs are deeper, wider and taller).
The vinyl style tolex looks nice however the joins at the corners could be a little better as there is no overlap between the vinyls leaving a small gap in each corner where I can see through to the wood. The wood inside looks thick and strong (looks 15mm-18mm Ply) which inspires confidence in the construction.
One of the advantages of this cab is the ability to choose between mono operation or dual stereo. I like to use 2 different amps together and this lets me do so in a lightweight package
In summary, it's a great package and I will be recommending it highly!
Marshall replacement and really good
Everything you need from a 2x12. Relatively light, robust, great sound, stereo switching possible. No need to spend more. Really, really good!!
A steal
So cheap it's not even a question whether to buy it or not. Pretty much the price of just the speakers. Worth it!
I sould my OR cab!
I had an OR 4x12 before buying this. You may think I'm crazy but I preferred this Harley Benton G212 Vintage.
It is worth more than its price! Just buy it!
Super cabinet
good quality nice sound , vintage 30 speakers nice sound awesome with fxs , and record on studio , no joke it sound like have to , acoustic or digital , it sound perfect , i match with a line 6 spider 3 50w and do work in a guitar studio without any problem.
it sound like the old rola celestion , now you can get them so expensive with damages and repairs, this product sound the same and are new , are good for home studio and recording the best, live you need 4x4 speakers.
but sound perfect.
Absolutely outstanding for the money
In my experience I had my orange tiny terror plugged in a Marshall box 4x12 and it sounded good. However for my taste this box made it sound better, the sound was very clear and under control I use it mostly for rock driven sound and cleans and for that this works great.
It's nice and practical with the handels on the side, I do recomend buying the cover. It's a bit heavy but no heavier than other boxes. Used it at home, on rehersals and for giggs and it always performed great, hadn't had any issues so far.
As far as I can tell I wouldn't exchange this box for any other. It does the job and that's all you really need. And not to mention the V30's truly make it a bargain
Great
Great Low Budget Cabinet with 2 serious vintage 30 speakers.
Great value for money.
I've been using this cab for 12 months now, both live and in the studio. Its a perfect pairing for my open-back Fender combo. Very robust, and great sounding!
Tremendous bang for buck!
I'm rocking an Orange AD-30 Class A tube head at 30 watts... and a 2x12" combo with the Orange logo would easily set me back nearly $600. The only real difference I can see in terms of product is .02mm thickness of the birch wood the cabinet is made from. Same kick butt Celestion speakers. In fact, I have to wonder at times how Harley Benton turns a profit - materials alone barely cover the retail cost when checking out.
OK, minor beef, but not with the product itself. Shipments to the U.S. go via DHL, and are then handed off to the US Postal Service to complete delivery. Once a shipment hits the US, it's in a tracking black hole. I received seven emails yesterday that indicated "something", but when visiting the tracking URL provided, still same status as always. I didn't receive useful notification until the unit was already delivered. (Made picking a day to be home to receive it a bit tough.) The tracking number never worked with DHL or USPS.
Got it out of the box, plugged straight in... and it's WARM! Nice clipping sustain from the Orange, and the speakers... I'd say you need to be quite the freak to have an ear tight enough to tell me what I'm running through.
excellent
very good cab, nice sound
Amazing Value
I bought this as my first ever cabinet, as I begin to play some shows with my band and I have been incredibly impressed with it so far not only does it sound great for the money but it is really well made and looks awesome! Would definitely recommend this to anyone out there looking for a great value cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30's. I'm very excited to play my first show using it and I know it's gonna sound great live!
The best 2x12 cab you can buy for that little bit of money!
you can spend a little bit more money on a guitar head and buy this cab with it!
the build quality and the sound is great!
Great cab for the money
I bought this product after reading many positive comments about it on recording and guitar forums etc. It really is a bargain for this price. If you were to buy just the speakers inside it'd cost about the same as this whole thing?!
The finish on mine is decent. Very nearly perfect, if it wasn't for a very faint scratch / mark near one corner on the front. It was basically unnoticeable from anywhere further than a metre away anyway, and after a quick bit of colouring in with a black Sharpie, you'd never know it was ever there.
It's solidly built, no rattling parts when I turn it up yet... and the speakers are great all-rounders for clean stuff right through super high gain rock and metal. Nice, tight and punchy for heavy rhythm playing which was my main requirement!
The plate with the inputs on the back is attached firmly and the sockets are good and sturdy too. Recessed enough to not stick out miles once a jack is plugged in.
I've had more expensive branded 4x12s before, obviously they are an entirely different beast. But I don't need anything bigger than a 2x12 right now, so this cab is great for me, sounds good, looks the part, very reasonably priced for what you get. They've seemingly not skimped on speaker quality or on build quality so I'd definitely recommend it at this price point!
Gebruik
Ik gebruik deze cab voor thuis te kunnen spelen
Pro
V30 !!!
Con
dunner hout/minder goed hout is minder voor de lowend
Overal Heel tevreden van de cab, voor deze prijs kan je niet sukkelen
A friend of mine recommended this cabinet to me and I was AMAZED by the quality of this product. It has 2 Celestion Vintage 30 speakers in it which alone cost almost the same as the whole cabinet.. the only con I have found so far after year of gigging with it is that it's easy to damage or scratch the wood of cabinet. The amp head I use with the Harley Benton G212 Vintage is Line 6 spider IV and I guarantee the awesome sound you can get of that combo!
Cheap but very nice
Speakers are very quality. It gives you what you want sound and power. Cabinets materials could have been better than. But it is enough for this price.
Solid and for the price ... well 2 celestion 30's would cost this on their own !
A really nice match to my orange tiny terror with a smooth feel and nice frequency response throughout.
Will be buying more of these !
5 and a half years later
I bought this 2x12 in 2010 and still use it today. Hasn't seen much of the road so I can't say much about its durability. Sounds great. I've used it with a Peavey Valve king, a peavey 6505+ and a line 6 POD HD Pro and its sounded great with all of them. It would be hard to find a cab new for the same amount of money that sounds this good.
Awesome cab !
Well I've had this cab for around 6 months now. It's paired up with a Jet City 20watt head and I can honestly say that it sounds sweet !
It obviously takes a little while for the V30s to break in but they really cut through nicely ! I mostly play classic rock / blues, and this cab just brings out the best out of my head.
Ever since I got the cab, it's been out on the road, gigging day in, day out and tossed around in the band van, but hasn't ever let me down so far. Reliability is what a hard working musician needs and this thing just delivers !
