Behringer HA400 Reviews
Great little headphone amp!!
Purchased this headphone amp to be used in live gigs. I use it as my personal amp for my IEM and it works great.
It's amplification is not crystal clear but it is very very good for the price. In a band situation you cant even tell that the amp is noisy. Although, if you're thinking in using it in a studio environment you might be better off spending a little more and getting something better. All in all considering the price this headphone amp is a great piece of kit!
Bought this in 2011 and almost 5 years later it's still going strong. Never failed on me, very reliable, small, lite but built like a tank. Great product!
Behringer HA400
Excellent headphone amp. I've only plugged two headphones at once and it has been enough for me when I've been recording, other artists at my home studio.
Very simple looking amp which doesn't take up space. I've placed it on top of my MBox 2 Mini and it sits there nicely. Good quality product which works as well as you would assume. Can't complain at all.
Price is not bad at all. I recommend this to everyone who is setting up their home studio.
A very inexpensive addition to a vocal band recording set up
This is a very decent and cheap solution for providing several headphone outputs.
I use it when I record a vocal quartet, where everybody needs a headphone monitor. Surely, for individual monitor channels one needs more expensive solutions, but this device works perfectly for my use-case.
Does the job
I'm using it in studio while doing live recordings. We use different headphones so it's useful to adjust volume for each channel individually. The sound quality is good enough for listening while recording. But not good enough for listening music, mixing or mastering stuff. Small and usefull in recording studio. Worth for the price.
Great Item
simple, easy to use, and works perfectly. Nice item!
Multiple live headsets
I chose this head phone amplifier as my band need to have a backing track and click in their ears at certain points during songs. This device allowed me to power multiple head phones each with their own volume. I found that this worked perfectly with most ear phones but certain high end headphones only recieved one ear when connected to the device. However this device seems extremely durable and is a perfect way to power your bands ear phones. Works perfect in conjunction with all mixers connected to their headphone connection. This is an inexpensive alternative to expencive in ear monitoring and suitable for many music related activities
Inexpensive and Reliable
I bought this headphone pre-amp for personal monitoring at a number of gigs we do. We are generally close to the mixing desk, but independent volume levels are something we wanted for a long time. Now, we can control monitoring volume easily while playing, and adjust monitoring levels for each of our headphones on the fly. The unit itself has proved to be incredibly reliable and excellent value for money. It is very easy to use, with four simple volume pots. I might have hoped for RCA input, to run signal from the mixing desk, but this is only a minor set-back. The unit has very good signal-to-noise ratio and (so far!) has not given us any "crackling" when turning the pots. All in all, a great purchase for a very good price.
Well worth the money!
If you are looking for a headphone splitter look no further as this is the only thing that you'll need. Don't bother with the more expensive splitter as it really isn't worth the money. I know this is Behringer, I know, I know what you are thinking. Well yes it is but in this case it's one of those products from the company that YOU SHOULD PURCHASE
It's cheap, it's reliable and you seriously won't find a better product at this price range! I use a lot of different headphone (Beyerdynamic, Bose, Sony) with different impedances and this helps me to get the right volume for each of them as if I just used a normal splitter the levels would be all over the place!

I have been using the HA400 for a year and It´s been awesome! Usually all the outputs have been used and they have worked well. For example It gives enough volume for Shure Se -series earphones. This production has a good quality-money ratio.
I chose this over the bigger headphone amplifier options as I felt it was all that I needed, and I'm glad I did. It functions exactly as I need it to and doesnt have loads of extra features that I'd never use.
Great little unit for the money.
Cheap as chips (like most Behringer products) but does a great job. Why would you pay more? Okay, so it's not as pretty as others and does have a somewhat cheap feel (its fabricated from folded sheet steel), but if you're looking a headphone amp with which to share listening duties, you'll not find a cheaper way of doing it. Yes I can recommend it as an inexpensive solution.
good
cheep and good sound
Behringer HA400
I use this headphone preamp to make the music coming from my cellphone louder when I play the drums to music.
For his use the HA 400 works great.
I haven´t tried yet how it works with 4 Headphones. I just use it with one.
handing:
Is very good. There are just 4 simple knobs: The level for each output.
In addition it´s very small, but for this size it´s quite heavy, wich is great because every time I want to plug in or remove a cable I don´t have to hold the HA 400.
Features:
There are just 4 smple knobs: The level for each output.
I would have liked an ON/OFF control.
Sound:
the sound stays very good. Maybe there is a little bass boost. But i did´t measured it
Quality:
2 of the 4 level-knobs grate a little bit, but the rest is very good.
I hope I Could´ve helped you
Affordable 4 channel headphone amp
At this price I shouldn't probably write anything negative about the HA400 headphone amp. Luckily, I don't have to since it hasn't stopped working yet. The knobs feel a bit flimsy and the unit is really light! Well it could be worse honestly, the box feels actually quite sturdy. It comes with a power adapter which is great. I have used it with all kinds of headphones from Beyerdynamics DT 990 Pro to t.bone cheapos and it seems to give enough output for every type of headphones, even the 250 ohm ones. It's only less than five months old so maybe a bit early to tell whether this is good bang for the buck or not. There are similar units for over double the price so if this lasts for several years it is really a great purchase.
Great buy
Does what it is supposed to do! Doesn't introduce any audiable sound degradation or noise. Metal case makes it feel quite resistant to any damage. Very compact, so it's easy to transport just by throwing it into backpack.
Good cheap headphones hub
Amplification level is good, but noise level is also quite high. However, for this price I wouldn't expect anything else. Knobs are okay and it looks pretty solid, should not fall apart after rough exploitation. Also it's small, does not weight too much, so you can drag it around easily. Perfect for field use (gigs), but for studio I prefer devices with less noise.
Good and sturdy
This unit at firs got me worried when we played music trough this and the board, it had some weird hum in it and then I was disappointed. But when we used it as in ear-monitors amp it worked amazingly well! I haven't tried to send music trough it again but I think the issue was somewhere else that the hum happened.
I am pleased with this product!
Of course you can but something more high-quality but this also means that the price will pop up and it will pop up good.
I say, buy this and if possible modify it to get the most out of it. That's what I did and I don't regret my decision.
Transparent Amp
Great little amp, nice and transparent.
I wasn't thinking straight when I ordered though- be careful as the plug that comes with this is Euro style. Easy to find a replacement UK style plug though...
Not marked the product down for plug as that's my own fault!!
Affordable and very good!
-I find this unit to be very well built, with good quality buttons and connectors.
-The tone is like the original so it does not imprint any tonal change.
-Inaudible self noise
-Good design with the external power supply because it eliminates the possibility of "PSU noise" and overheating
great headphones mixer valid proof
very good as mixer headphones, its price is its strong point, but as is often the case for behringer products, this is of good quality and can also be used for professional purposes. is very robust, basic, but it does its job very well, the only advice is to not go overboard with the volume level at its input, otherwise you will notice a distortion not pleasant. for everything else recommended, for little money you can bring home a great headphones mixer valid proof
