Harley Benton Valuestrings EL 10-46 Reviews
HB value Strings
Really bought these as spares but last weekend my son who plays in a band found out last minute he had no strings. We strung his guitar and he played the gig. Afterwards he asked me what strings he had to replace, " no that's fine son".
"Thanks Dad", great strings.
Well that's how good they were!!
Decent quality strings!
The Harley Benton value range of strings are by no means the best guitar strings I have ever used - but they are pretty good!
The unique selling point of these strings is the price. I have never seen a set of guitar strings priced at just over £1! Despite the low price though, I have enjoyed using them and have around 20 packs in various gauges stockpiled in the studio!
They sound good, fell pretty good, and last a decent amount of time. The only odd thing is the 1st and 2nd strings have a strange waxy feel to them when you first take them out of the packet - fine when on your guitar though.
Great value!!
I usually use these strings on my electrics, they sound good and they're really cheap. They don't feel as slinky as the more expensive strings, but for the price, I can't complain.
Pretty good electric strings.
These strings are good if you are just putting them on your kids' squier but they are not really something I would like to use on a more high end guitar. So far I've used these string whilst waiting on another set of strings and they're not bad at all. They're rather good for the price however, so if you are going to buy these strings I'd definitely recommend buying these strings in a large amount of bulk and use them in between a string change but I'm not really sure if you would want to use these strings full time as they tend to lose their twang very quickly. Overview, good quality relative to the price. would recommend if you need a quick set of strings.
Product quality has gone down!
I've used these strings for 3-4 years now. They used to be really good, long lasting and sounded fresh for a good amount of time.
But the last batch i got is REALLY bad. The High-e and b string, brake within 2-3 hours of playing. This is very short and makes it very expensive to change the strings every couple of days.
If you are looking for cheap and fresh set of strings that will get you through 1 gig, i really recommend these.
If you want to use these strings for a longer amount of time, or a reliable set, these will NOT live up to that!
Nice strings
These strings have been a nice surprise. They are of good quality at a good price and are now on all my guitars. At first the strings are not very smooth, but playing for 10 minutes everything is resolved.
+ Cheap, no rust, good sound
- Average life (but for the price is excellent)
Great strings
Fantastic value for money, I really can't recommend these enough, I have a good few guitars, so spend a small fortune on strings, using these will save me loads of money (to spend on more guitars) and without sacrificing tone, not only are they cheap, they sound great too.
Unbelievable
I still don't figure out how they could sell this strings at this price. They are stored in a vacuum protective bag so you can use them even years after the purchase, far more expansive sets don't have this wise option and after months I found them completely rusted. At this point for the same price you can buy 10 or even 12 of these and always play with new, fresh strings all year long. It is way better a new set of string whatever the quality could be rather than play with an expensive but very old set, especiallyfor a gig.
satisfied
Thank you for good quality and price of this product.
Very durable and easy maintenance.
I will certainly do more orders and give to my friends.

I bought two packets of Harley Benton Valuestrings to try, as the price was simply ridiculously cheap.
I was really not expecting very much at all, as usually cheap strings are nasty, grey things that you get on the very cheapest guitars and have all the tone of a cupboard door.
However, these actually looked quite good, and once on a Telecaster (I fitted them to a Fender 50's classic Tele caster - Made in Mexico).
The strings did the job, lasted a few gigs, and were an outrageous bargain for what they are. Yes, they are no D'addario or Rotosound - but they are a 5th of the price.
I'll certainly buy more packs. They are almost bargain of the century!
My go to strings
I only recently started playing guitar for a band as i am primarily as bass player but I has already used the Harley Benton bass strings and swore by them so I thought I would put a set of these on my guitar and I was not disiapointed.
Very clear sounding and very bright, strong as well as Ive yet to snap one.
The only issue is they die quite quicky but I cant complain as they are so cheap!
Great
So after 6 years the B string on my TELE snapped. Damn better buy some strings hey! Found these & they looked great. I'm not a pro, but price & quality are important to me. These certainly fit the bill. The come nicely packaged in the usually plastic envelope & each string is secured in a sealed airtight plastic bag. It has the "cut along here" instructions to open them. The outside of each bag is clearly marked with 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc so no confusion to which is which once you've removed them from the main envelope. The strings installed well, no hiccups.
The sound is nice & bright. It gives my TELE a great twang sound when needed. Harmonics are easily rung too, I would guess it took the strings about 3 hours of solid playing to stretch out & finally begin to hold the tuning so nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion, How well these last & how long the tone falls off is unknown at the moment. If that's important then i guess you pay a lot more. At the moment i'm very happy with this purchase which i comforting because i bought 3 packets. I think 6 years between string changes is slightly too long & at these prices i can push the boat out. I will be buying again.
Crazy McCheap and quality t'boot
I have to say, I am a total convert to these Harley Benton strings. As with most people I've used all of the usual big names over the years and being annoyed at paying through the nose for what are often not the 'freshest' to start with, and lose that new string sound within a few days. I've tried the coated ones too which are equally disappointing and cost three times the price just to rub it in - but what to do? Cheap strings are rubbish, everybody knows that.
But not these. I can honestly say that in terms of sound and feel they really are no different to the big names. And they definitely feel better than coated strings. But for such a ridiculously cheap price, they are genuinely crazily priced.
As I said, I like the new string sound, and now I can buy 7 sets of strings for the price of one pack in my local shop (and I'm sorry - I'm all for supporting the locals, but, they just can't compete with this.)
So try a set or two next time you are ordering something else. You'll be amazed

I can't fault them to be honest, I initially though they would be terrible due to the price but I couldn't have been more wrong! They are not as bright straight after being put on the guitar as some well known brands but it's not a bad thing as I find strings generally are too bright initially. They hold their sound well, are very consistent and last a long time. Great job Harley Benton!

9 out of 10 dentists recommend these strings...
Joke aside, I bought a bunch of these strings because I'm still a student so I don't have much money and I wanted to get the most out of it. I made the right choice.
These strings sound reasonably good and stay in tune fairly well. The only bad thing I can say about these is that their tone fades away in about 2 weeks (I play the guitar for 4-5 hours each day) but since they are so cheap anyone can afford to change it every 2 weeks... BUT it's still cheaper than using some 'big brand' strings.
Your opinion might be different but for such a small amount of money you should give it a shot, you have nothing to lose.
I use these on ALL my guitars because I can afford to change strings as often as I feel like it without wasting lots of money.
A price/performance trade off
I use a specific brand of strings on all of my guitars but decided to try these. They are decent quality strings. I am impressed with the quality for the price. Are they up there with the top brands? Nope, are they close? Yes. Are they worth the price? Definitely. I always believe you get what you pay for, but once again Harley Benton has proven that you get a little more than you pay for if you pay for Harley Benton
there you have it!
bought these strings without any regrets,,, they sound just as good as other ones and does it for a 10th of the price of others.
Buy these! , install and enjoy Life people.
Perfect strings
For a set of "budget" strings, there is nothing negative to say about this set at all.
They sound bright and full, have no tarnishing which some high range strings do, seem as strong as needed and stay in tune perfectly even when used with plenty of tremolo.
Cheapest strings anywhere
They are very cheap but quality and sound of these strings are well over what I expected. I have ordered these mainly for my squier strat and to practise. To my surprise, I used them also for recording and am very happy with the results. Some reviews say they might get broken easily but that's not the case with me. They last long, sound well and stay in tune if guitar has good tuners. Now I just wish I have ordered a lot more but that's no problem because soon I will put a new order for more gear and I guess quite many new Harley Benton strings will be among them. Next I will try HB bass strings for my new HB bass guitar with more confidence.
For price good
They are so cheap, so for this price I cant say anything bad. You can buy tons of these...
