Great.

Handy little thing. Perfect for gigs and it packs up nicely. Very stable and has been very helpful for the last 3 years. Has taken a beating but keeps working fantastically

Good for first stand, but doesn't stand the test of time

This is a great entry level microphone stand and has a very sturdy base. The tripod design means no problems with being knocked over. The main issue is that after a while, the thread that you tighten to angle the stand looses its thread and this means the stand can often begin to droop.

You get what you pay for!

Remember this is a cheap stand so is only good value if you intend to use it with not much extension of the boom arm and a light mic.

The reason for this is that the locking mechanism uses plastic receiving threads and grooves to tighten and lock the boom in place and these will wear out quickly especially if used under load.

My experience: This stand has had very little use since i got it 2 years ago but recently I have had it set up with the boom extended approximately 40cm (max usable length is about 65cm) with a condenser mike and pop shield for recording. After only a few months the threads and grooves wore down so it's clearly not fit for this kind of use so beware!

Cheap stand, but good

I received this stand as part of an sm58 bundle, and I was not necessarily disappointed.

In many ways, the Millenium MS-2005 is a good stand, it's inexpensive yet still functions properly. It serves it's purpose and is definitely worth buying.

My issues with this mic stand is that almost all the adjustment controls are on a single mechanism, so it is difficult to adjust quickly in sections where I am not playing guitar as well as providing vocals. Though some people may actually prefer this function rather than multiple adjustments.

The only other problem is that the plastic used in this stand is very brittle, though I expected this from a cheaper stand, I would suggest anyone who knows they're microphone and stand are going to take a battering to look at other options.

Overall a good 'get-what-you-pay-for' stand.

Millenium MS-2005

Some people have complained about the plastic joint at the boom arm connection but I found this was adequate and non-slip. The extra facility for another mic on the stand top was good as an acoustic guitar mic holder.

These are used by me packed by me and assembled by me so they are not rough treated. They are not expensive but function as required.

Vertically OK, horizontally not so good

I bought these about 2 years ago in an effort to save some money on some "non-essential" audio gear. A mistake I will not be repeating. The stand is quite okay until you get to the boom part. The plastic locking mechanism broke within a few months on all six of them. The vertical parts serve still fine. Also, they are very light stands so it's comfortable to carry them around, but when using a boom with a mic on it, it's quite easy to tip over. So lesson learned: don't cheap out on stands!

Very poor quality, only lasted a couple of months with light use before the arm detached and could not be repaired. got it as part of a bundle with a behringer mic but would not go for that again.

A Cheap stand - but that's just what you get

I've had a number of millennium stands in the past, usually because I have been on a tight budget, and they tend to go the same way - the Mic adjustment screw is not man enough for the job, the boom adjustment slips after a time. I bought six of them recently as part of a package including mics, bags cables and stands which was unbeatable value, so I don't mind if they fall apart.

I now use Hercules Stands as although they are 3 times the price, they last a lot longer.

That said, for the price these stands are almost disposable. I now use these as overhead mic stands for the drums and as spare stands in case I have a problem with other stands. So in that respect they are excellent value and so long as they are not used day in day out they should last. But if you need a sturdy Mic stand I would suggest you pay a bit more and get a Hercules or something similar. So much better quality and quick release

These will do for the purpose they are now used for though, and I would recommend them if you're on a budget and not going to be gigging more than twice a month.

These are a cheap mic stand - and they dont last for long. Ok for maybe a home studio environment but for live where they are put up and taken apart nightly, it doesnt take them long to unravel. This is about the fifth I have had and all have gone a similar way, The Boom Adjustment goes as does the Mic height

Much better to get a Hercules. They are more expensive (like three times more) but I have had a number of them for quite some years and still going strong.

These ones - I would save your money unless your budget is really tight and buy a better quality one

Great mic stand

This is a really good quality cheap mic stand. It's fully adjustable so I can use it for recording vocals, drums and guitar cabs depending on my needs. Seems very sturdy and it seems like it'd be very hard to break in normal usage!

Poor quality

Fell apart within a year. The fitting between the stand and the boom broke so I glues it together. After a while it cracked again so that the boom would not lock. I still use it but as a straight stand. Sorry, could not recommend this.

Great Stand, Great Price

I have been using a couple of these stands for over 6 years now and they still work great! They are very adjustable so can be used for most any application. The clips keep it all well in place when you have got it into the required position. and they fold up nice and small for porablility/storage. All in all some great microphone stands at a great price!

Budget stand but gets the job done.

The MS-2005 isn't the most heavy duty stand, however its low weight makes it fantastic to carry around and it's sturdy enough for most situations. Extra counterweight needed when booming a decent sized mic with pop shield at full extension to stop the joint slipping (which is also the most likely point of failure due to it being plastic). Overall: absolutely amazing value for the money, and I'll definitely be buying more in the future.

Versatile and reliable

These stands can be used as boom, or in the basic upright position, due to the inclusion of two mic clip mounting points OR you can use the the two clip positions to mount two mics, if you like to mic your guitar and sing, rather than use a pickup. They are stable, easily adjustable, and beat more expensive stands by a long way!

Reliable mic stand

Used these stands for a while, quite light weight and not too bulky, be careful not to over tighten them though. Absolute great value for money and completely versatile as to how you want to use them, be it boom, or straight up and down.

It fell apart after 4 months

I found the mechanism at the top that allows for the movement and tightening of the long bit(boom?) that holds the microphone to be weak and not fit for purpose.

Good stands for overheads

I use these stands for install overhead mics for drumset recording. Nice and stable stands. Length is enough. Compact, light and cheap - this is exactly what I need.

For its price it was not any disadvantages.
